Went to get a carbon monoxide detector and stopped at Garden Center to get a mum plant. The rack said $12.98 but rang as $19.98. The plant was heavy and I just had shoulder surgery six weeks ago. I told him I'd try to manage. Jack at the checkout corrected the price for me and walked with me to my truck to lift the plant into my trunk. So kind- thank you!! read more

I'm so glad I met Sue at your Shakopee store. I have so many lawn problems and Sue just happened to come up to me and ask if I needed help. I sure did. I must have talked to her for 30 minutes. She was very well-informed about grass and answered all my question, sometimes more than once, patiently and respectfully. She offered suggestions on products and when to use them. Our first experiences buying appliances here. We were looking for a deeper fridge as ours was counter depth. We found a Samsung on line Mega Capacity 31 cubic ft for $1499 that had been $2399 .So on a whim jumped in the car Sunday night 1/28 as they were open till 8 pm The store department serviced by Bill N that night. When we arrived we saw the fridge marked down to $1299! Are you kidding me? 31 cu. ft and designed with handles that allowed us to get a bigger fridge that was in a tight corner and would allow door to open fully! By opening Home Depot line of credit got another $100 off. It has double ice bin making cubes and nugget size; an ice scoop, inside water feature and fingerprint resistant stainless Too good to be true?? Not in this case! Bill was outstanding and got the fridge entered for delivery and completed sale in 20 minutes. It is a stunning sleek French door; double lower drawers and fridge and delivery/install seamless by the crew on 2/2 and relocated our old fridge to garage to use there for just $40. Microwave install and delivery ($170 + $50) was more than the cost of the microwave, with install not offered if I picked up the microwave at the store. Less than a 10-minute install, including packaging removal. Disposal of old microwave was an additional charge, which I declined. No Veteran's discount on appliances (i.e. anything expensive). My husband and I frequent this location a lot since we are finishing our basement. We have been several times recently and have interacted with Doug Terks and wow what great customer service! He has helped us with tiles, carpeting, padding, and any other questions we've had! Each time he has approached us on his own and asked if we need any assistance and makes himself completely available to help us find exactly what we are looking for. What a great guy! this store keeps "accidentally charging" my credit card for rented tools that were returned 2 weeks ago... plus about 2 months ago they had lost 2 doors I had ordered, had me come to the store to have me wait over an hour to tell me that they didn't have them...I am about 45 minutes southwest of the Shakopee store and I started doing business with them this year, and when you order stuff like I do or need a trustworthy source for specialty tool rentals I would not recommend the Shakopee Home Depot. when i asked the manager on the phone why this stuff happens, the response was "these things can happen." well I hope this review can save others time or money, in my case I could have saved both by shopping at menards .. read more

As a woman, I dread going to Home Depot or similar type of store. Remodeling and tools are not my forte. I feel very overwhelmed and lost in the store. What would make my occasional yet essential visits to Home Depot less dreadful would be a friendly helpful staff. I'm standing here waiting for an bathroom vanity top to be taken down from a high up shelf for me to look at/purchase and I was treated poorly by staff member , so, I thought it is important I write this review and share my experience: I'm trying to buy a vanity top. You would think that asking for it to be brought down by an employee of HD would be a normal thing to do. The employee that I found to help me, Darrel, made sure to give an irritated sigh, like I'm such a burden to his life, and be very short and condescending when he spoke to me. Then in front of my earshot he told his other co worker "it's going to be a while. I have to help this person and I have to get a lift..." then he throws his hands in the air like he is some entitled spoiled child that was just given a chore by his mother. Not okay. I told myslef that he is probably just having a bad day and to just smile and let it go. But when he came back to get the vanity top down with the lift he had a few more condescending lines for me. I decided to address this to him personally with assertive yet a gentle tone letting him know that as a woman who isn't familiar with home remodeling he has not made this a comfortable experience for me. He then doubled down with his attitude furthermore letting me know that he has worked there for 18 years and never had a complaint. I asked his name. He said Darrell. Hope he isn't lying about his name. But yeah, not a wonderful experience for me today. I've had great experiences in the past at the Home Depot in Eagan and pretty much all Menards stores. read more

The shakopee location is seriously the best location in all of the twin cities, I should know, I've been to all of them in a 30 mile radius. Owning a small sign making company, I've tried competitors in the past but once I figured out the low prices and good selection of wood I made Home Depot my sole choice. Plus all of the guys in lumber are seriously the greatest- professional, hard working and kind. I have them cut a couple pieces of wood for me each time I go and I know it's their job to be friendly but asking to see photos and remembering me when I come back is a step above. Literally love this place and I drive out of my way to come to this location specifically. Ps everyone in lumber deserves a raise..... actually, make it the whole store. Don't take your equipment here for repair. I brought my One year old Honda lawnmower in for a warranty repair, and it came out with the engine not working properly. When asked about it, they said that it is a fuel issue and not their problem to fix. Obviously they would fix it for a price, but when it went in working properly it should come out of the shop working properly. read more

We used Home Depot home services for a bathroom renovation. They made the process simple. Communication was great and work spot on.

I've had nothing but positive experiences from this big box home store. This location has been a go to for so many things including cleaning supplies, housewares, tools, hardware, lawn and garden equipment, paint, craft supplies, plants, holiday decor, grilling and camping equipment and on and on. Every time I go, there is friendly staff offering assistance (not overwhelmingly so). They seem to know where to find things and what is needed to fix something, or know someone who does. I've also taken a few of their complimentary do it yourself classes which were fun and educational. I saved quite a bit of money repairing my shower thanks to their class on grouting and tiling and have built some cute home decor items with their do it herself classes as well. read more

This Home Depot location is above average as far as Home Depot goes. The guys in the tool rental section are especially helpful and efficient. The remainder of the store is a little less impressive but not bad overall. The staff are often hard to find but seem to be very knowledgeable when you can track one of them down. The Home Depot web experience is completely ridiculous so often I'm better just driving to this store. read more

Good selection, there was an older gentleman that helped us. He took our price concerns in to consideration and suggested a lot of things that saved us money on our bench project. I have been in the store before at busy times and had an issue finding help but most of the time I can find an associate. The prices are a pretty good range, you can find everything from low end to high end. Bought some hand tools here too. I like places that sell you no frills tools with a lifetime warranty. I don't need the latest and greatest just to wrench on my car on the weekends. read more

This Home Depot is fantastic. Luckily I live less than a mile away. I finished my basement and bought practically everything for that project at the Home Depot. The associates are friendly, helpful, but not overbearing. Working on electric? Talk to the licensed, master electrician. Plumbing? Let me get you the master plumber. A lot of the guys who work here seem to be retired from the trades they're assisting in and want something to do, and just like to shoot the s*** and help people out. They hire right at this store. When I was frequenting the place daily there were 3 or 4 Dans who worked there. They were all extremely nice and helpful. I did not run into one person who was not. On the rare occasions I went to Lowes to find something it was nothing like the experience at Home Depot. It definitely wasn't a bad experience at Lowes, but I was spoiled by Home Depot. read more

Home Depot used to be my go to building store but not any more. You can never find someone to help you. Today I walked the isles for 20 minutes and could not find a single employee. I finally spoke to the paint lady who made an announcement for some help, no one came. The store seems deserted. it seems they have adopted a policy of cutting back employees at the detriment of their customers. I will never shop there again. read more

Tate and Tyler installed the wood flooring in the kitchen and dining room in 4.5 hours. We decided to also put the same flooring in the living room and hallway. It took Phillip and his brother 3.5 days to do a totally unacceptable job in the living room and hallway. Home Depot paid to have it redone correctly. Tate and Tyler returned and corrected the unacceptable work, tore up all of flooring laid by Phillip, meshed the living room and dinning without seems, all in 5.5 hours not days. Even though the local hardware store doesn't always have what I need and is generally more expensive, I would normally go there instead of a big box store so I don't get lost and can easily get someone to help me. I have to say that this Home Depot was head and shoulders above any home improvement store I have ever been to in the past. Went to Shakopee Home Depot looking for a belt sander. The tool guy suggested we rent a machine for the job we were doing. The rental guys suggested the floor sander for the job. Suggested to us to rent for 24 hours as it would be more economical. Then the deposit, insurance, etc. for $150. Unsure, we rented it. So I turned this machine on and it threw me against the wall. I had my daughter help and it threw us both. I called and told the rental people that we, as two females were not able to control this heavy duty machine. They told me to lower the handle to even turn it on. My daughter then tried it that way and was unable to control it. I told them I would return the machine immediately and would expect a refund. Was told to talk to the manager. I brought the machine back, the manager gave me a partial refund. I was not happy. I was charged $54 for a machine that I was leery to use and then when I only turned it on, it threw me to the cement, injuring my arms and back. "You signed a contract" the manager kept repeating. I will not return to Home Depot!! Lowes, Menards, you have my business. DO NOT RENT FROM HOME DEPOT!! read more
