the store is clean, well stocked, and convenient. if you go to the paint department and try to fine a nice young man, with a beard I believe. listen to what he says, take notes and do the opposite of what he so strongly recommends. I went there to buy paint, knowing from experience what I wanted. he talked me into something completely different. after proper surface preparation and a lo of care to apply it peeled off in under 5 days. no worries, I went back, couldn't find him and got what I wanted. reapplied and it's lasted for a few weeks now. true, I only wasted $ 40 dollars and one of the few day of warm temperatures we had. but I learned not to trust someone who claim to know what they are doing. read more

I want to share my experience. I ordered carpet for my entire home. Waited the first ten days and the team showed up and ripped up some of the old carpet, then looked at the new carpet and said there was an ordering mistake and left.  I then got called and told it would take almost a month before the manufacturer would have the new carpet sent.  Then the second crew showed up and it was 3 young guys. They came into my home for about 15 minutes and then disappeared outside.  I went outside to see what was happening and they said that they couldn't install the new carpet because they had forgot their tape measures and some other tools.  They said they would have to go get them. After a little while I noticed that their van hadn't moved. I went outside to check on them and when the door opened it was filled with pot smoke and they said that their van was broken down.  I spoke to Patrick and William back at the install office several times.  Finally a ride showed up for them and they left. They said someone would be there the next day to get the van off of my lawn.  The next day came and no one came during daylight hours. My family was enjoying some quiet time around the fire pit when the driver of the van showed with someone else after 9pm.  While there the driver decided to relieve himself with my family on the other side of the yard instead of asking to use out bathroom. They still didn't take the van.  I was told by the install office that we would be their top priority come Monday morning and someone would be there first thing and William would be on-site to ensure all went well.  Come Monday morning no one showed up until after 11am and William was nowhere to be found on site. Joe and Dillon did a great job installIng the carpet and finished after 7pm. I kept texting Patrick to see what the plan was to get the van removed. A couple of days later the van was towed away.  This is not the experience that my family deserved or expected.  I was compensated 300.00 and to be honest that felt insulting.  When I reached back out to the Home Depot manager Luke, he wanted to share the excuses that he was given and to be honest there is no excuse for the lack of professionalism. read more

How can I be a fan of a big box home improvement store? Well, when you visit enough that you're there more than some of the employees, you learn to love it. I get the concerns people have, but trying going to Lowe's in HHDs and you'll like this place muchhhhh better. Do they have things not in stock like maybe the Ithaca store? Yes, but you know what it's because we live near a small town so financially, why stock everything? I must disagree on the helpfulness of the employees because I have found them SO HELPFUL. SO much nicer than any store I have ever been to and so much more knowledgeable on actual home improvement things. We've asked about electrical and plumbing and what they think is best. Are there some rude people here? Yes, but most of my interactions are so good with the employees here and they laugh and joke around with us and always ask about our project. The customer service desk has always helped us with anything we needed and have gone above and beyond what they need to do. The prices are better here and they will take your Lowe's coupon so ha! It's perfect for shopping for power tools, misc project supplies and lawn care items, etc. My only negative for this home depot is the appliance department. I have opted to shop at another big box store in Big Flats for these items. Mainly because the sales people at this home depot don't seem very knowledgeable about the items. Also, the prices at the other store on those items are better. read more

I love the convenience of having this home depot nearby. It is only a few minutes from my house. It is clean and well kept if you need something. As Josh wrote the negatives are it is hard to find someone for help and I feel like they could care less sometimes and you are a bother to them. Other times I find a person who is very helpful. Either way most of them time I go to Lowe's or Sears for big buys due to having better prices and brands in general. Lowe's also has a big store with much better selection. I really feel Home Depot is the worst of the big 3 stores. read more

I went into Home Depot today for a number of things; grout, marble vanity top and a replacement for my faulty Levelor. Wow, I have to say, the 4 attendants that helped me were kind, respectful and friendly. I even saw humility which is very refreshing. I stopped for electrical conduit, I need 38 pieces of 1 1/2". I asked my wife to start while I went to the bathroom. She questioned an employee because she was having a hard time with the 10' long conduit. She was told to "bend it a little", the employee walked away without offering to help her. I had to put half of it back because there was 1 1/4" mixed with the 1 1/2". I went to move the truck while my wife paid. The person at the register was taking a very long time so I went in to see what was going on. She counted the conduit 5 times! I told he that is was OK with me if she counted, but as I did not have a lot of time to get finished. I was charged for 38 pieces and when I put it in the truck, there were only 37! My wife asked for a refund and was directed to go to the far end of the store and talk to customer service, told by the woman who just over charged us. I had to go all the way to the back for the 38th piece. Very slow, very impersonal and very little assistance for the people who are working. read more

This is an absolutely wretched location with very little product actually in stock. There is no point in shopping at a big box store if you can't go home with what it is you were looking for. I can order products myself online cheaper and faster than they can. This is why big box stores are an endangered species's. read more

Possibly the WORST managed store I have ever done business in. Employee morale is very low. It seems like I usually walk out frustrated, disappointed or feeling stupid that I went back again. I could give multiple examples of poor experiences in this store, from the complete lack of available associates to poor service in general. There have been several times when I have gone in knowing exactly what I needed, but could not find anyone to place the order or take my money. No one is willing to go the extra mile, or even start in on the first mile to help a customer out. I have actually seen, while trying to load sheets of drywall on a cart, employees turn around and walk away to avoid exerting themselves. I will always go to local, small businesses where they actually care about the customer, whether the computer "let's them do it" or not. The big box store (and especially this one) has ruined customer service. read more
