If you want cheaply made, second-hand or problematic products from your typical box store, this is your place. If you want customer service where no one knows anything about any of their products, this is your place. I guess that's what to expect when you have "professionals" who work in the Flooring Department for 3 weeks then move on to outdoor furniture & gardening before skipping onto paint. One can't expect anyone to know a lot about anything in a Corporate Box-Store. If you're going to invest in your home, INVEST in your home, don't buy cheap crap. If I have to see one more bad tile job of the same generic box-store linear look backsplash Tile installed by random installers (because Lowe's NOR any box-store have their own Flooring, Tile, Window Treatments, Shower, Vanity, Sink nor Countertop Installers on their own Insurance listed as their own employees). Box-stores hire "independent contractors" that you get stuck with & half of them are guys who've slapped their name on the side of their vehicle & call themself an installer. 99% of the time, you don't know these guys are, & Lowe's has minimal information on who they're letting into your home. They're usually guys whom drive 2,3,4 hours to work. And GOOOOOOOD LUCK contacting anyone in Customer Service if your Flooring, Tile, Shower, Window Treatments, Vanities or sinks were installed poorly or the product failed because in a Corporation, NO ONE IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE! You will NOT get your money back, so if you're willing to take that gamble for bad products & poor installation, then by all means, go to Box-Stores... where their "installers" are as much of a joke as their seconds in flooring... I actually have a sheet of 2" hex tile in which the grout lines aren't even CLOSE to being the same size across a 12" x12" sheet. Big surprise. My poor aunt & uncle spent $5,000 on "Custom Window Fashions" that DIDN'T FIT & I sh*t you not, the installers response was, "We are only the installers, so we're here to install the product. If you don't want it, take it back to Lowe's", & THEY LEFT! THANK GOD there's privately owned businesses that treat people right & care! They were helped by a family owned Business in Hornell who were able to help them. The only thing I will ever purchase from at Lowe's is something small that I need right then like... Mulch.
Even their lightbulbs suck! I have a huge kitchen & we've used Daylight 60 w canister bulbs by GE & these LED's are supposed to last years. We have to replace these bulbs every 6-8 months. We had an electrician come in to see if the wiring was bad, but everything was wired correctly. Just sucky bulbs. Sucky, EVERYTHING! read more
