I was working on a pair of socks and came across questions regarding the pattern, I called the shop to see if they could help me out with the instructions ... Ann answer the phone and was so helpful and getting me in the right direction so I could continue knitting my socks. She even answered the phone when the shop was closed. They have my preferred needles- the super speedy stainless steel ChiaoGoo circulars, in just about every imaginable size and cable length. They carry lots of quality yarn, host trunk shows for artisans, and have local made products for sale- such as the bright pink skull stitch marker I picked up when I was last there. The shop itself is beautiful- bright with natural light, spacious, modern, and comfortable. The work they have on display makes me want to become a better knitter. I hope to take one of their numerous classes in the future. Knitty Gritty is very responsive on social media and their website is as great as their physical space is. The store is located in an office park, and I must admit that I find the location superb for a yarn-o-holic like myself. It is quiet with ample parking making it perfect for an open knitting session with your friends :-) Though I also find that little yarn nooks in commercial districts are super cute too. We went to Denny's, after my wife (who was detained against her will at Michael's for trying to buy Copic Markers with legal 100 dollar bills) was released without charge. (The police told her that now she could go back and buy the markers a Micheals.) see my Michael"s Yelp review. My mother, father, wife, daughter, and I went to Denny's in Elmira for a coffee and to decompress. We met a nice family who found our whole story rather appalling and suggested Hobby Lobby which is just across the street from Michaels's. We went today and found at Hobby Lobby the staff was kind and courteous. They had a wider selection of the copic markers and they had an online coupon for 40% off one item. We did not know about it. The checkout person helped us bring it up a apply it!!! And we saved money but spent more than the order we were not allowed to buy at Michael's. My daughter gets her surprise gift for Christmas!!! We are as happy with Hobby Lobby as we were betrayed by Michael's. Stay away form Michael's unless you enjoy being handcuffed and treated like a criminal. Hobby Lobby is the Right Choice.
