I can't help but enjoying coming to the Homedepot stores . I like the garden center and the options of flowers they carry. I'm a card holder so it's very convenient to get nice offers from them . When staff are around they are very helpful and friendly. It's been pretty easy getting what I need at great prices . We've rented a chain saw and was given a quick tutorial on how to safety operate it along with gas . Very happy with how helpful the tool rental department was. read more

Customer service is the biggest failure of this Home Depot. Has great selection of anything or everything to remodel your home but to get to it you must try to find a service representative. Value is based on market price. I know the price of wood is in astronomical levels. read more

Home Depot is on top of their game. We needed some painting supplies and to match some paint. Lebert,originally from Jamaica was a pleasure to work with. He was knowledgeable, friendly and has a great sense of humor. Thankfully there were no lines, and he took us immediately. He couldn't have been more helpful and treated us as if we were his family. Customer service needs more training. I have been replacing my tools with a lifetime warranty for 2 years, but today a lady at customer service told me that now the company is responsible for replacements, not them. After so long following the same process, now I'm expected to contact the company, wait for their response, 'supposedly' send in my tool, and then wait for the replacement to be shipped. In the meantime, I guess I'll have to stop working or use an extension cord to measure. read more

'Almost a year ago I wanted to tile my half bath. Went to Home Depot and had someone come out to measure the bathroom. I then picked out the tile which was a beautiful small hexagon tile. Home Depot contracted out to a flooring company from Bridgeport ( can't remember name). Anyway, two gentleman came and laid the tile. Needless to say it was a terrible job. There were places where they didn't put enough grout. The transition between flooring was3/8 inches wide. There were places where the tiles looked like they were not flat. I contacted Home Depot flooring department and asked that they send someone to fix the floor. So the 2 tilers came back to "supposedly " fix their mess and change the transition. Needless to say I was still not satisfied with the results. Went back to Home Depot to speak with store manager who really didn't do much to address my issues. Also bought anew medicine cabinet that I had to return 3 times before I got one that wasn't broken. Then replaced the toilet and the 1st toilet didn't work. Returned once. Let's just say Home Depot in Orange is not my store. And that's being nice read more

I called HD in Orange to have someone give me a quote on a fence. Doug came highly recommended by friends who used HD fence services last summer. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed by both Doug and HD fence services. Doug arrived 30 mins late, couldn't answer some run of the mill questions that I had, and was dismissive of concerns that I raised. I got the impression that Doug is not familiar with fence installation which makes it difficult when you're supposed to be asking a "professional" about the job. Doug informed me that ALL fees are to be paid up front before the job can be scheduled. When I expressed my concern with this, Doug responded with, "Home Depot is a large company and doesn't need to run off with your money." I am flabbergasted that was his response. Doug sent me the quote a couple days later and it was over $1k more than a local reputable fence company quoted me. I will absolutely not use HD for this project and I urge others to seek quotes from local companies before resorting to HD. Requiring 100% of the cost up front is absurd! read more

I have never had a good experience at this Home Depot. I do believe it is due to inexperienced management. First all employees should have a way to communicate to each other like walk-in talkies. This would help provide quicker and more efficient customer service. They should have associates designated for curbside pick up/ propane. With walkie talkies you would be able to communicate that someone was here for pick up. They also need a designated person answer phones. They let the phones ring and ring. Especially when the curbside pick up option is turned off or not working you need someone answering the phones. The associate at the customer service desk did not know how to use the app. All associates should be trained on how to use the app. This way they can efficiently help a customer. With 10 years of retail and customer service experience there is a lot of work to be done in this location. read more

This location is the worst. Tried getting a plywood cut and waited 45 minutes after the cashier paged twice. Workers standing around in groups talking etc but no body could do it. On top of that the store is unorganized and a mess compared to other locations. Poor management read more

I am so disappointed with home depot and their delivery service. They postponed their delivery 3x (!!) of a large appliance (oven) with only notifying me 1 of the times...the night before, after I had already canceled plans for the day so I could be home. Do not order any large appliance from this location. They will string you along and keep telling you they are coming and then either cancel or just not show up, and blame "delivery complications." I spent hours on the phone trying to work this out, dealing with incompetent people and "managers" who really can't do much other than to talk over you, ignore what you have to say...if HD truly cares about their customers they would fix this issue, apparently there are money others who have dealt with the same. read more

I recently received a wonderful Home Depot gift card.I don't really need anything from Home Depot now, and I have a Home Depot credit card with a balance.I wanted to apply gift card to credit card balance and was told I could not.Due to the Covid crisis I have been out of work for awhile and have had a hard time keeping up with the bills.When I explained this to manager on 800 customer service line I was given the old "my hands are tied I would love to help but can't"Wow Home Depot and corporate America what a way to step up and help out.Shame on you !! If we could give Home Depot a minus rating, we would. We purchased a GE dishwasher and it was delivered and installed on time. However, two weeks after purchase, it broke. We spent at least 8 hours in different phone calls attempting to resolve this problem as the machine has a 90 day warranty. First, Home Depot personnel said it did not have warranty while I was looking at the warranty agreement. Then they said they had no responsibility and It needed to be solved by GE. We attempted to get that contact number and instead they continually gave us logistics. (TWICE) After contacting GE with numerous phone calls, they gave us incorrect instructions regarding their procedures regarding the warranty. (Also writing to them) We finally paid for a repair person to come and repair the dishwasher. It turned out that aa solenoid was broken after 2 week of use. Horrible tale of buying a microwave oven before Thanksgiving, getting delayed delivery for two weeks. Horrible customer service and delivery procedures. And finally the microwave arrives on a Saturday at 8 pm and the delivery guy tells me that "he does not install".... so i refused delivery and cancelled the order.... who is running this show? As a local contractor I have used all the Home Depots in a twenty mile radius. I have to say that Orange is the worst. So bad in fact that I will travel out of my way to avoid it. Never in my life have I been so disappointed with Home Depot. I ordered a washer/dryer in the beginning of May and set delivery for a specific date. After waiting for 4 hours I get a call that date from dispatch the driver is sick and cannot make delivery. I then am told I have to wait at least two more weeks for delivery. I spoke with three managers at the Orange location and was not offered any sort of remedy to the situation. I then called back to cancel my order and was placed on hold for 20 minutes, then transferred to someone's voicemail. I proceeded to call back and finally got someone to cancel my order. When canceling the order they offered me $250 off. Lowe's was already $600 cheaper. This experience has forever tarnished the great reputation and experiences ive had with Home Depot. Let's hope the refund process is smooth or I will never shop at a Home Depot again. read more

Called this morning to verify that a certain item was in stock. Waited on hold for ten minutes with no response. Called again and the woman I spoke to told me the item was indeed in stock and to come on down. Drove 22 minutes EACH way out of the way to pick it up. Was greeted most unpleasantly by Pete in the garden department who provided me with the worst customer service experience in my recent memory. Very rude, unprofessional, dismissive and unhelpful. End of conversation was that the item was not in stock, even though Pete did not make any effort to look in the system to double check. I dropped the other items in my hand rather than checking out because the entire experience had me so beside myself I truly didn't think this Home Depot was worthy of any of my business. Went back to my car, took a breath, and thought before giving up or driving somewhere exponentially further I would call one more time to hopefully get help from someone other than Pete, or from someone who would be willing to actually check inventory before instructing a customer to drive all the way down. There was no answer after several minutes. I re-donned my mask to go back inside and the customer service desk eventually told me that the item was seasonal and not in stock at any Home Depot's in the state of CT. Besides having my time wasted, I'm extremely disappointed that in the current climate of hundreds of thousands of hard working people being out of work that people fortunate enough to have a job do not care to operate in a manner that would lend to them wanting to maintain employment or to treat people with respect. We're all struggling right now; leave your baggage at home. Lastly, given all the information publicized recently about how remarkable the CEO of Lowes is why on Earth would someone invest their time and money into a business like Home Depot if they are going to treat you like garbage before you even walk into the door. We purchased a 60 by 36 inch Kohler cast iron shower base through Home Depot, and I have to say that the shipping for this item has been handled poorly by everyone involved, and there have been a host of companies involved. Though the item is listed as having been "delivered" we still do not have it. And people on the phone are just giving me the run-around. The item is 580 lbs, so free shipping was critical. When I called Home Depot I was told that the problem was "out of their hands." Save yourself the trouble and buy it through Wayfair or Build.com. I can't say if I would recommend the product because I haven't gotten it yet. read more

I walked into Home Depot looking for something called "mastic"??? I approached two employees and said I was looking for "mastic". To my surprise they both POINTED to aisle 5. Neither one of them attempted to walk to the product and show me. I attempted to find it but walked out empty handed. I would expect that type of customer service from the younger generation who don't care about their job NOT from older employees. Walked into the store to buy a power tool and few other items. I am an inexperienced woman who had a few questions to ask before purchasing such an expensive item. The first two employees I asked for help were talking amongst each other and it took me a minute or two of standing there before they looked up to help me. They told me they'd call someone to power tools to help. 5 minutes go by and no one shows up. I walk to someone in windows since that's the only place I found someone and he pointed down the isle to a man that he said can help me. I go down the isle to this man who is talking to another coworker and again I say excuse me meanwhile they continue to talk and ignore me. Eventually he looks over and I tell him I was told he could help me in tools. He says no he is not the guy and I begin to tell him he is the 4th person I asked and if he can just help me really quick. Immediately he put his hands in the air and tells me to calm down and points me to someone else. I have never been treated so disrespectfully as a customer. All I needed was some assistance and instead this man was too busy talking to his pretty coworker and immediately intimidated me by waiving his hands in the air and acting like I was bothering him. If a customer needs help, especially a woman who is clearly not a carpenter or knowledgeable I would think any of the many employees that were standing around having social hour could help me. Absolutely ridiculous. I felt so belittled. The worst customer service, I'd advise people to go to any other location or Lowe's down the street. read more

I don't really have a lot of experience with this sort of paint and the man at the paint station was incredibly helpful and got me sorted out in no time. Disappointed to learn today that Home Depot's 10% military discount is ONLY for active duty military personnel and all other veterans can have a discount on a few select holidays. I served in the Air Force in the late 80s. I am proud of the time I spent in the military in support of our country. One of the things I appreciated about The Home Depot, was that they cared about our veterans; now I think the discount was just for show. Do the minimum and people will be fooled into thinking you really care. All veterans deserve the discount. Was the time I spent, or the time a veteran from Desert Storm spent, in the military any less valuable than an active duty person serving today? I think not. America needs to really show its appreciation for those that have served. Without these brave men and women, we would not have the freedoms we have today. Bad move Home Depot. Store was very clean. An employee saw me approach the paint counter and came over to help me immediately. She gave me options for my paint selection and even took the care to dab a bit of my mixed paint onto the sample card to make sure they matched. Another employee greeted me by the registers also and asked me if I found everything I needed. I asked if they sell lampshades, and she informed me that they do not, which saved me time from wandering around the store. Self check-out was efficient. I would visit this store again. Had to wait 10 minutes for someone to help me at the key cutting desk. Came home and the key doesn't work. Went back to have another made. It still doesn't work. Apparently they can never guarantee that a key will work. Not sure why they would offer that service if they can't guarantee it. Definitely not going back. read more

Big lot, easy parking, did the order online and pick up from Customer Service option, and it was fine. The rep went in and out of being pleasant, though never rude. Good displays, didn't smell as "shoppy" as other HD's, plenty of flatbed parking, good option, from what I could see. read more

Buying mulch online was an adventure.I went online, found what I needed, ordered it a picked a delivery date, and checked the box that allowed it to be dropped off without a signature( its MULCH for heavens sake). Shortly after I did the order I got a confirmation email, but the delivery date was wrong and it said that someone over 18 had to be home to accept the delivery. Huh. So I called the number on the email and got home depot.com, and they referred me to the local store. The very polite woman informed me that she could change the delivery date to the date I had specified, but she could not change the requirement that an adult be at home. No matter, I said, I will arrange to be home,BUT I asked, are you sure you have this product in stock, because when I go online it says that your store is out of stock. No, I was assured, the stuff was available. Two days later someone called back and said the product was out of stock, to which I replied, "Yes, that it what I tried to tell you...." Then I said, do you have some equivalent product, because the landscapers are scheduled to come in two days.its just brown wood mulch. So they found me a equivalent and price matched it, and the stuff arrived in time. The people that I spoke with at the orange store were very helpful and professional, and the stuff arrived on time so alls well that ends well, but shouldn't this be easier? The whole thing took 5 separate phone calls.the issue is the seamlessness between online and the actual store, which could use some improvement. Virtual vs brick and mortar. Rude and evasive. We tried to but an advertised refridgerator and it kept coming up over $200 than listed. We were told nothing could be done and to call back Monday to speak with a supervisor when we call he said he would get back to us but never did and the same thing happened again on Tuesday. We have still not been told why this happened but we have since purchased one from Sears. read more

I purchased over $1,200 of pressurized stockade fence two weeks ago, setting a date for curbside pickup at that time. My contractor communicated with them several times to insure curb side pick up on that specific date. Just before the contractor went to pick it up on the agreed upon date, he received a text message from "Justin" a HD employee who stated they were "robbed" the night before and our fencing was gone. While my card was credited for the fencing, we were now stuck trying to find a store who had what we needed at the last minute with workers sitting around doing nothing until we could find fencing at the last minute. Guess what? I contacted the Orange police and they NEVER received any reports of a robbery. The contractor also spoke to the manager who admitted there was no robbery. Customer service at its lowest point. No compensation for the screw up. Since when when you buy something from a store, arrange for curbside pickup and your stuff is given to someone else. I'm writing this review to warn customers about Home Depot's misleading price match policy. I went to the Home Depot store in Orange, CT to purchase a Samsung dryer. It was listed at $999, and Sears had the same model at $749.99. I've purchased many, many products from Home Depot over the years, and I thought the company was trustworthy. When I showed the man at Home Depot the Sears ad, he said they would not beat their competitor's price by the "guaranteed" 10%. He told me the dryer was special order, so it was not part of the guarantee. I asked to speak with the store manager. Shawn Fisher (Department Supervisor) spoke with me and said the same thing. Because the dryer is special order, it was not part of the guaranteed price match. I then went to the customer service department and asked for the store manager. Shawn McHary spoke with me. I asked him why the dryer is "special order" when it is on the floor with all other appliances, and there is absolutely nothing on the dryer indicating it is "special order". He said that almost all appliances on the floor are special order, so almost none of their appliances are part of their price match guarantee. I did the online chat with a Home Depot associate. Unfortunately, I got the same results. On the plus side, she told me she sees how I could think their price match policy is misleading . . . I can't count the number of products I've purchased from Home Depot over the years. Until today, they were always my first place to shop. I'm sad to say that is no longer true. I feel if they are so misleading about their price match "guarantee", then what else are they dishonest about? read more

I'm updating my review for the orange Home Depot. Bought some carpet and the salesman told me that because it was for stairs I needed to get a carpet with a short nap. Because I have never been able to order anything from this store without having problems I called the store to verify that he ordered what he said he would. Of course it was wrong. I called him the following day and he was not in so I got another associate. He was aware of the mistake and told me he would call me back that day. He never called. I called 11 times today and can't get an answer. The carpet was ordered on Sunday and will be in on Wednesday. I know better than to trust their installers so I have my guy lined up for Thursday. I still have no idea if your carpet will come in wrong and I can't get an answer out of anybody. I'm a contractor and have tried to order things from Home Depot in Orange many times. Every single time there's an issue with these people. I strongly strongly suggest shopping elsewhere. I loathe going there and will definitely shop at Lowe's from now on. read more

I would neverrrr spend a penny in Home Depot again stopped in to pick up something my husband wanted me to grab so he could finish planting our flowers, mind you we have spent over $500 in gardening items this week at Home Depot in stratford . Saw this gentleman so I asked him for assistance as he was in the middle of help me his name was called over the intercom so he just walked away from me without a word. I started walking around the gardening section to find him, and he was in the middle of helping someone else, I waited patiently for him to finish as I was about to ask him for help again a manager asked him to help someone else. I told the manager he was helping me before but just walked away without a word and I still needed assistance. They both looked at me like I had two heads clearly I'm the wrong color to need assistant in the gardening section at Home Depot.
