Yes there are a lot of hardware stores that you can stop at, I know that I want helpful employees and a wide variety of items. Is that why we all come to this location? This place has improve a little over 5 years later. (I'm the mower reviewer) I am currently trying to buy a toilet from them. I ordered it at 11am it is now 5pm and it's still not ready for pick up. Tried calling the store to see what is up. The line rings forever finally someone picks up and says hold please. So I do, no issue people get busy. Said a manager would reach out to me about the missing stuff and they said there was nothing they could do for the damaged stuff. I went into the Home Depot in Harriman New York on Thursday on 4/6/2023. I planned on purchasing 55 panels of vinyl fencing. At the pro desk I talked to an older scruffy guy who was very short with me. seemed like he was just done dealing with people I guess. anyways, I asked if he can give me a bulk rate for the vinyl panels and he just said probably not in a couldn't care less attitude. I guess this is the way Home Depot treats their customers, so I will be buying these panels from weatherable's directly and by passing the home depo. And buying direct is a little bit cheaper. I love going to this location verses going to the Nanuet or West Nyack Store. Granted it's a lot smaller than both other places, but at else I never have any issues when I go to this location every single time. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly when I do go get what ever it is I need. This is my home away from home if I can't find what I need from Wal Mart which is right next door to Home Depot. Once agin I can't complain what so ever about this location and of course I will always recommend to come here verses going to Rockland or another home good store. read more

Second person directed me to the proper area and after waiting 20 minutes am told I need to move because they need to shut the section down, another woman much more tolerant than me said she was waiting an hour! They do not offer curbside contactless pickup. Or at least the four times I requested it it was not provided. Each time I pulled up and called the store...after being put on hold I would be inevitably hung up on. When I call back they say they are too busy and to just come in the store. I have spoken with corporate and the manager about this. The manager admitted to me that more often than not they do not have enough staff to provide contactless pick up. I asked him why he continued to advertise this service and he declined to answer other than to say they need to "do better". TRANSLATION: "I don't really care" read more

I ordered a grill that came damaged and the third party delivery system was awful. I went and spoke with Patrick, one of the managers, he ordered me a new grill. When it did not arrive on the promised date, I went back again and spoke with Carlos. He found my grill and I quickly got a call from Juan to say they were on their way! My new grill arrived undamaged and was placed where I requested. They took the damaged grill away. The three men I dealt with couldn't be more apologetic for my inconvenience and more helpful. read more

Paint Dept, you wait and wait to long. I went Sept 19 2018 and asked this young man in the paint dept.How much is the oops paints. He said I dunno I think 10 bucks a gallon. I go back in the section and their 17 - 20. a gal. Ok im thinking what does he know hes at the register. But,..dont you think anyone working in paints will know a ball park starting price or know all this. \ Lumber Dept, I go back in the wood dept to have a piece cut. I asked this guy he said I'm busy Ill call someone. 10 min later nada. So I flag down a orange vest guy I said hey I need some wood cut can you help me please? He said I'll call someone. So I waited in total 25 min nobody came. I went to another dept I said i been waiting 25 min for a guy to cut wood an anyone cut wood around here He said ill send someone over. My stars.. so in total now 30 min to wait fro a guy to cut wood. Plumbing dept next. I asked a guy if he had sharp brad nails. He said here ya go short nails. I said to him No I said sharp ya know like to hang pictures. So he didn't understand or hear right or not to knowledgeable about what they sell. Then I asked another associate as the man who didnt hear me right talked slow moved slow couldnt care less attitude, so the lady I asked for toilet bolts to hold down the toilet. She said down this isle. I said well, there are many types and I was asking fro advice before i pick a wrong one as there were many types and sizes for a oval shaped reg height toilet what do I use and she said again their on the wall in this isle. I mean i felt like saying is there anyone in the store who actually done something like this to work with or knows the product? thats how i felt inside but i was pleasant and said thanks and walked out. NOT enough people there know what the customers is asking dont point dont say down there in that isle I needed help to pick out the right things. I feel home depot lacks customer service and many contractors i spoke to say they now go to loews and i also feel home depot should train employees in the sections of the store like per se plumbing see all they sell and explain what a shark bit is etc bushing etc so they know how to help anyone. Not all people knows. At valu home center upstate NY they train employees before they can work in the dept of electrical, plumbing garden and lawn, paints, they take classes. They handle the products and explain what all they do. In plumbing if you purchased something they would as you, did you need the teflon tape or gaskets or in paint dept they would ask did you need painters tape drop cloth paint thinner you know something you just might forget in a hurry .. these people at home depot didn't add on anything or suggest anything. I mean a company's goal is to make money. A company is to make money your loss if I didnt get customer service or add ons. read more

I can also say, when I had a bigger concern and actually called, the manager, Mr. Molina, called me back very quickly and we discussed. Thanks to Mr. Molina. Don't have the right words to express my gratitude for the staff over there. I went shopping about 2 weeks ago looking for a slop sink and other stuff. it was the first time in my life i tried to install a sink myself. the gye @ the plumbing section was extremely helpful. he showed me all what i need. opens the valves to show me how to assemble itand made sure i'm not leaving before i know 100% how to do it. one thing i wasn't so happy that the store wasn't fully stocked & had a small selection from folding tables. read more

My wife and I visited the Harriman location this Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at about 7:30 AM to shop for a Christmas tree. We didn't see the item we wanted but knew that Home Depot had it online. We walked over to the returns/customer service desk and asked the grumpy dumpy looking lady if she could help us place the order and have it delivered to the store. She refused to help us and made up every excuse not to place the order for us. She finally told us to use our phone to place the order ourselves. My wife tried reasoning with this lazy idiot that because we were already present at the store, it made sense to place the order with her at customer service but to no avail. We finally had enough, left the store and placed the order online for a better tree with Wayfair. read more

I'm just writing about my recent visit to the harriman home depot. most of the time in the past, have either been ignored, or couldn't locate anyone for help. this time I had to purchase lumber that was located on a upper shelf. I asked a couple of people in the lumber dept. and they said that they would call someone. after waiting for awhile approached a younger worker and told him what I needed. don't know if he didn't know how to operate the forklift, but he obtain a ladder and between my son, me and the worker, I was able to eventually obtain 20 pieces of 2x8x12 pieces of lumber which would have been easier if someone had a forklift available. I would say that this young man's actions was the exception rather than the rule. On a follow up, a few days later had to go back for more lumber, couldn't locate anyone. luckily I needed only a few pieces and found a ladder and helped myself. read more

I guess I should have read these review before I purchased any big ticket items here. The first instance was when our riding lawn mower was delivered with no keys. One of the managers personally came that night and delivered they keys, so it wasn't a big deal. Then we went in to price out cellular shades got a quote of $700, so we scheduled to have somebody come measure the windows to then be told it will cost $1800!! Come to find out what is in store and what their rep that comes to house sells are two totally different things!! Then we bought a washer and dryer, and schedule and paid for the install. A few minutes after the installation I realized the dryer was damaged so I called Home Depot and they said they would handle it. Long story short, it's been over three weeks and I still have the damaged dryer hooked up and the new one sitting in my living room with no resolution. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

I bought a bunch of house plants here and the staff was so helpful picking out different plants for the different rooms of my house based on her direction of the sun and what plants would do well with me always traveling for a week or so at a time. Called store and was told soonest they could come back was 2 weeks from original delivery date. Also had custom tile ordered that came in cracked. Had to reorder tile from another tile retailer. My father went to this Home Depot location to pick up two packages he had ordered online. When he asked for the packages, the employee working there could only locate one of them. Because of his trouble, this employee said that the second package would probably arrive at a later time and he should come back tomorrow. This was clearly not the case because tracking information specified otherwise. The employee proceeded to tell my father to come back another time and pushed him to sign a paper stating that he received BOTH PACKAGES even though he only claimed one. My father refused to sign the paperwork and asked the employee to keep looking. Once again, the employee kept pressuring him to leave, only one package claimed, and to sign the paperwork. This was an expensive purchase (my father had ordered new skylights for our house), so he was worried that if he left he would not hold claim to the second package (especially since signing the paperwork meant that he had received all items from the invoice). SO, an HOUR later, they finally managed to locate the second package. Not only was this a HUGE waste of time, it also reflects poorly on management's training of Home Depot employees. It was a frustrating, demeaning, and over all negative experience. I am so dissappointed with the "service" that we received. Not only was such employee behavior unethical, it was down right lazy. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this Home Depot location in Monroe, NY (at the Harriman Commons). read more

Will never go into a Home Depot again.. I went to Home Depot to purchase cabinets and other items this week, around 6:30pm. Asked for one of the Employees to help with the cabinets. And was told, they person in that department has left for the day and would be back the following day. Nonchalantly told me, to just come back tomorrow. I should have left then, that was the warning. On our way out, the contractor I was with. Said let's go to customer service. I spoke to gentleman name Marty. We told him what just happened and he said come with me. He was in a different department and personally took us backed there and we picked out all the cabinets, sink, faucet and some other items. We paid for everything and was given the option of a morning or afternoon drop off. I choose the morning and the contractors came Thursday and ripped out my entire kitchen. They come back Friday to prep and get ready for the cabinets to come. Well at 12 in the afternoon, I called Monroe Home Depot and the young lady helping me, checked into it and said. She's sorry, but the person that placed my order was new and made a mistake. That all orders go out in the afternoon. I started to laugh, because while we we're checking out that night and making small talk, because the computer had froze. I asked how long do they stay down. She said don't worry, I have been here forever. It will pop right back up. Like I get it, we all make mistakes. But just say your wrong and lets move on. But nope, the bs starts. She said they truck would be at my house around 2:30pm. I left the contractors and went to Newburgh Home Depot to look at some other things. I got home at 3:30 and the contractors are packing up. I said what's up, they said they were about to call me. Because the order still didn't show up. I asked the guys to give me a minute while I called back out there. I called once again at 3:45and I explained I was not happy and wanted to speak with the manager. Was put on the phone with Pat, told him the whole story and he checked into it. Came back and said the truck will be here to pick up your stuff by 3:30, I said it's 3:45 Pat. He apologized and said he would call the company that does the delivering and would check. Came back on and said they would be there by 5:30. I was irate and said that's not acceptable. He said he would refund my delivery fee. I said I didn't care about that. That I have 2 contractors here doing nothing, that I'm paying hundreds of dollars to. I asked my guys to stay, that I would pay them. Just wanted them to get everything in and look everything over for tomorrow morning. Well at 5:30, guess what happened??? You got it, im still waiting on the phone call before delivery,to let me know there coming. The guys left and I was so mad, that I held back from calling back a 3rd time. Because I just wanted to flip out. I almost lost 1,000 on 2 guys, that hung out with me for the day. I called at 6:30! Spoke with a manager named Tom. I explained my entire nightmare. I apologized to him, for being pissed. And told him, it was not directed at him directly. He said he understood and asked for my number and said he would have a answer for me quickly. He called back within 30 minutes. Said he wouldn't make any excuses and said he couldn't get ahold of the delivery company. And that is was something management would adress with the shipping company the following day. He asked what was the latest he could come, I said I didn't care, that I had both guys coming first thing at 8am. He said he had some guys coming in at 9pm and he wpukd send them right out. Tom... Thank you, no excuses and got the job done! A simple phone call the first 3 times! Would have at least kept me as your customer. Tom called me back and said he had someone coming in early and they would be at my house by 8. They got here at 7:45. Kudos to you Tom.... Now lets fast forward to my email to customer care. They said sorry and would have store manager reach out to me and they customer_care@homedepot.com would reach back out to me 11/25 well guess what.. 11/26 and I have not heard from store manager or customer care.
