In its place, a vintage shop, full of cut crystal, blown glass, small furnishings, Some costume jewelry pieces and an abundance of Crystal and China. The shop is run by a lady from Alabama, who, even after 43 years managed to keep her delightful accent. I want this place to work and thrive but I fear that the buying market won't support the mission. This is not a consignment shop but you will find pieces that you would expect to find in a consignment shop. Many of the items are priced fairly and they are in good condition. Some of the clothing in the back are not in keeping with the Quality of the collectibles, in my opinion. I definitely miss Simplicity and the ability to consign locally. I did see a few items in this shop that I may return for. I'd encourage you to look for yourself. Leave big, bulky coats, and bags at home because they do have items set closely together, and many are unbreakable. please use caution. Friendly, welcoming, staff and montages based on color, style, and decade, make it fun to know how things could fit together in your place.

At the very least, if you're going to push the next holiday, offer deep discounts, and incentives to come in and buy those things. I'm still shopping for summer and seeing Halloween may be a little down in the dumps to be honest. We're not even at Labor Day yet. On the other hand, I did find what I needed, which was a large planter for my front steps. It had some damage to it so they did offer me a discount which I appreciated. That actually sealed the deal because the damage could be placed to the back and out of sight.

Dawn was very professional, & knowledgeable. She handled my order from designing stage to the final processing order stage. I ended up having some material which was too short & needed to be returned. I ended up going to the poughkeepsie store of Page Lumber as the size of the new material I needed was in stock at this location. I scheduled a pick up of the old material from my house as it was too large for me to return in my car. The old items were picked up from my house on 5-31-22. I never received a receipt for the pickup. I contacted the poughkeepsie store & spoke with someone by the name of Meghan who told me that she would email me a pickup receipt for my records & that credit for the return would be processed with 5 business days. I never received the pickup receipt & I have emailed her 3 times. No response. I am also still waiting for the credit for the return which is just about 600.00. I have placed numerous calls to poughkeepsie store to inquire on the refund. They either never answer the phone OR when you do finally get through, you get bounced around from dept to dept, person to person, OR voicemail in which no one returns your call. Very very unprofessional horrible experience I have had with this location. I am still waiting for my credit. Needless to say I will never shop the poughkeepsie location again. I would rather wait & order from the Pawling location.

The repair person placed order to replace the seat. Six months later- after four unreturned phone calls and two in -person visits to the store, I was told that the best they could do was re-order the seat, or replace the whole chair and then I would lose my protection plan. --Completely unapologetic-- Customer satisfaction is clearly not a high priority. The prices are way too high for the junk that they sell. I am writing this review so nobody else ends up in the same position as me. Go elsewhere.

They also know absolutely nothing about the Lowes Store card they are always shoving in one's face to get. Basically, you use the store card and you have a 365 day return policy. But none of them know that and think it is 30 days and they all act like they are not part of a larger entity and that somehow that store is its own little fiefdom. Many of the men (and some women) who work there are quick to want to have a fight (!) with customers...when they are not hiding from customers. The customer service desk staff all seem like they have been having a bad life and are taking it out on customer. Just a miserable experience. My recommendation: go to the store to see items in person and then order them online from Lowes...usually free delivery. Anything to avoid Poughkeepsie/Lowes Federal Penitentiary!
