I was looking for some pressure treated lumber to reinforce corners for a raised bed. I needed it cut to size. The woman in the lumber department was great. She asked if I needed help, and was able to get me to the right place quickly. She checked the lumber to see if was good, checking all sides. She got the board down for me and cut it to size. we bought a washer/dryer combo from Mentor Home Depot, It was delivered broken with a tag saying 'defeco'. We have called Home Depot to report the problem at - 1800-455-3869 for help--they said we had to call Frigidare but gave us the number 1800-374-4421 well that was a number for 'medical alert devise'. I called the 357-0428 Mentor store and it rang for 5 minutes no answer. We are still trying to get help returing this product. I had all my flooring replaced throughout the house. Went through Home Depot and concierge's flooring in Mentor, Ohio & I was told they would be able to take the tile up and the flooring would be even. When they got here I was told that they cannot take the tile up so they went over the tile, took the laminate out and now I have a huge transition between the rooms, not to mention the color I was shown in the store was much lighter than what I received. I was never offered a slab to bring home, and was never advised that the color would be different than what I was receiving. I had my kitchen cabinets resurfaced, and they did an awful job on that. Trim was short on multiple areas. The cutting was rough and uneven. One panel had 3 areas where the nails poked the wood out. I called them and complained so they came out to try to repair some areas and mark what needed to be replaced. They tried to fill in several areas with dark putty and a marker that did not even match. They did come out again & repaired several areas. I had my kitchen countertops replaced. The color I was shown looks nothing like what was placed. The sample I was shown was much lighter. What I received had a lot of black in it and was much darker. I had to return the backsplash because it would not match the countertops. I have to get new countertops now because everything clashes. Unfortunately, I signed a waiver saying I did not need to see the countertops prior other than the sample I was shown. I specifically asked them "will it look like the sample I was shown", and they said yes so now I have to eat the cost of the countertops and get them replaced. When I went into the store, I picked out the color of the flooring, cabinets, backsplash, and countertops and the picture I took of everything matched perfectly & what I got was awful, nothing matched. I specifically said I don't want it to look too dark and he promised me it wouldn't. It absolutely does. I also purchased brand new sinks to be placed along with the new strainers & when they came out for the plumbing they never put the new strainers in and they didn't center them so now I have a brand new sink with old strainers that look dingy compared to the new ones. The sales rep. Brandon told me to trust him. That was my first mistake. I guess because he said he has a college degree he thought he knew what he was doing. Apparently NOT! They should be upfront and honest with the buyer advising them that it will not look like this. I can see mild variations, but this was extremely different in color. Buying and using Home Depot for a carpet install has been nothing short of a nightmare and what's worse, is they don't seem to care. After an unprofessional carpet measurer showed up at my door, talking on his phone, then ignoring me in the doorway while he still chatted on, should have been my first clue how this would go. My install date was 12/4. After receiving a call late in the afternoon, I was told by the installer that they couldn't be at my house until 7 PM. They lied, according to their manager, about having a flat tire. I was assured they would be there first thing at 8 AM on 12/5. They showed up at 10 AM and didn't have the special required glue to install the tack strips. After saying all along the way we had radiant floors and they couldn't pound into them, they finally started the installation at 11:30 AM. An hour later, they told me the carpet was measured wrong, and they didn't have enough to do the installation, and they would have to reorder my carpet. I then went to the store to get this situation worked out and was told no store manager in the store to help me. I was given 2 email addresses to send my complaint and pictures to. I sent the emails on 12/6 and went a step further by making an online complaint and filling out the form they love sending in these reviews. It wasn't until I called the corporate customer service line this morning (12/9) that ANYONE has actually talked to me about this situation. They claim there is no record of a complaint form filled out, yet I have the confirmation email. This is now 12/9 and this is how I am living! (See picture) read more

careless installers! Dented fridge on delivery- came back 2 days later to haul away for replacement and then walked with muddy shoes on carpeting instead of on rugs laid out on hardwood for them to walk on. Not professional on either occasion! Store did offer $100 refund ...but would much rather not have to get the brand new carpeting cleaned. read more

Do not waste your time even getting carpet (or anything for that matter) quotes from these low ball crooks. They low balled my wife to prevent her from shopping them at $4000 to $4500 for 108 Sq yards. Then charged us $35 to check our numbers. The numbers were correct but when we went in to order they raised the price to over $6000. But no explanation why. We went to a small mom and pop carpet store and got a better carpet for $4800. I came early on a Sunday morning with my 25lb well behaved border collie to have them tell me to go wait in the parking lot because dogs are a threat to customer safety. I just went to Home Depot to grab spray-paint normally don't go to the big retailers but I was close so I stop I was totally surprised when in the parking lot i saw a sign in a parking space close to the door that said parking reserved for veterans only as a veteran I am very flattered and appreciative of people recognizing veterans for their service even if it is something as small as a parking space reserved for us it made my day I went in there and found the manager he was a pleasant man and told me that all Home Depots do tat now the people were polite and helpful in pointing me towards the direction of the paint and offered me help in choosing the correct paint I will be back read more

We ordered an LG refrigerator from Home Depot in September 2017. The sales people at Home Depot were very helpful and knowledgeable and we have no issues with them. However, Home Depot chooses to contract out the delivery of the appliances and that is where the problems happen. Home Depot contracts with a company that then sub-contracts it out to a trucking company. You think you are doing business with Home Depot but some guys show up to install the refrigerator, and you have no idea who they are. And Home Depot seems to feel that they are not responsible for whatever happens then. Our delivery seemed to go very well and we were pleased, but the next day we noticed water on the floor of the furnace room which is directly downstairs from the kitchen. We thought it was a leak somewhere in the furnace room but we could not locate it. It was a small amount of water so we just cleaned it up. The next day there was much more water and we realized it was coming from the kitchen, upstairs. Not a flood, just a slow drip. We pulled out the refrigerator and confirmed that the water was coming from the fitting they installed to connect the water line from the refrigerator to the copper tubing that supplies the water. We called a plumber who came quickly and installed a new fitting which stopped the leak. We then called in a company that cleans up water damage. The water had migrated into our family room and we had wet carpet and wet wood paneling. Total out-of-pocket cost just under $1,000. We pursued the owner of the trucking company that did the damage and he just replied "I am denying this claim". I asked if he was insured and got no comment. To shorten the story, I filed a suit in small claims court. I asked the Home Depot person who handles problems like this (a full time job?) what would happen if this guy backed his truck into my house and did $30,000 worth of damage? Could he just deny the claim? And what would Home Depot do? read more

Our story begins with Home Depot in Mentor. My family was in need of a new washer and dryer and had purchased a model from Home Depot that was set to be delivered 3 weeks after we ordered it, 2 days before Thanksgiving. The day before delivery we called to make sure that the delivery was still on schedule only to find out several very disconcerting things. First was that our delivery had been rescheduled to the day prior to Thanksgiving, a day we would not be home and we were never notified of the change. Second was that when Home Depot sets up a delivery, they are no longer involved. They outsource delivery to another company who has no motivation to resolve any issues whatsoever. They recommended 2 solutions, either have a neighbor let them into my house or leave the door open for them to do the installation. We chose to cancel the order. We then went to Lowe's in Mentor to shop for a washer and dryer, the day before Thanksgiving. The appliance manager, Enore, was very helpful and assured or machines would be delivered the following Sunday. When the much anticipated delivery day arrived, our order was unfortunately delayed. An emergency had occured and the delivery was rescheduled to the following day. Enore, made sure that the delivery occured after we were home from work and even came out on the delivery himself to enure we were fully satisfied. Unlike Home Depot they took full responsibility for the delay and made every effort to rectify the situation. We will now be lifelong Lowes customers. read more

We bought a washing machine back in May 2017. First we waiting over 20 minutes for someone to help us. We went to the service decked and asked them to call someone since we were one of four couples waiting. We order the washer and scheduled a delivery date. They never called the day before like we were told so we called to check. Well they set it for the wrong date. We waited two more weeks to get it. Now 8 months later it needs repaired. Yep! We have the extended warranty so we called to schedule a repair. They gave us the number we called and the gentleman told us the day and the hours between 8-12. As I sit and wait i figured I'll call to see what's happening. I couldn't find the number to the service people so I call Home Depot for it. The girl who answers can't help me. She transfers my call and I have to leave a message asking for a phone number. 20 minutes later the lady calls back to say she's sorry and tells me I should have scheduled my repair online so this wouldn't have happened. Really?!?! So there must be a problem yet you keep using the same service center to make appointments. Hmmm not happy! Meaning while my husband is calling the company who was suppose to get the appointment. Go figure they didn't have any appointment to see us!! So I will have to take off work again to wait for this repair to happen In two weeks now! We made the appointment with the company Home Depot was suppose to have done almost a week ago now. We only got a sorry and we should have scheduled on line not called to set it up. Needless to say we will never buy from them again. Even though we have a whole house to redo from the floors up. Guess we're going to Lowe's or another competitor. Very disappointed twice by Home Depot. End note my husband just got off the phone with corporate in Georgia they're giving us a $50 gift card and asked if we'd continue to shop with them he politely said NO! read more

My husband and I have been long time customers of Home Depot as their customer service has always been more than helpful and I can always find what I need. We have bought all our home supplies there including paint, ceiling fans, kitchen/bath flooring and carpet. Long story short, the flooring person recommended a specific type of carpet for our living room. We stressed we have 1 dog and we did not want it to look old after 5 yrs or have issues so we'll pay whatever to have nice carpet. He recommended a type, swore he had it and never any issues and if so its a 20 yr warrantee and if any issues they will handle. We have had MANY yarn pulls throughout and the carpet (After a year and half) looks old, I talked to same gentleman who told me no problem, call the maker. I did as instructed and called and the maker of the carpet is out of business, so they sent an independent contractor who came to our home and took a sample. Later said "it passed the test so no defect". We called several times and discussed to 2 different managers. Each time I called they said he would try to go higher up to see what he could do. They never called back. I gave almost 2 months, called back and the head manager acted like he didn't know about it and would ck into it. They came over our house, inspected and acted like a ton of yarn coming up on carpet is normal and we were told "they wouldn't recommend carpet if you have a dog." Really? We have MANY friends with pets and carpet. I am more upset we were told 1 thing, it wasn't handled properly and no one followed up with us. Now I have to go to Lowes. Disappointed. read more

I love Home Depot, Mentor. When we bought our house a few years ago we ordered new carpeting for the whole house. At the last minute the transfer date was delayed and the people at Home Depot scrambled to make sure the carpet was installed on the one day we had to get it done. Recently we bought a new stove from them. It turned out the oven was slightly defective. Instead of sending a repairman they just said they'd replace it. Just like that. No problem. Customer service is top notch there - they couldn't be more helpful or friendly. When there's a problem, they acknowledge your concern and apologize - sincerely. They bend over backwards to make things right. And as for their delivery company (I saw an earlier review about that) - they too are extremely nice and helpful. The drivers that delivered were friendly and we got a call the day before with a delivery time frame and then another call 30 minutes before they came. I'm sold! I'll be a life-long customer. read more
