I typically don't drop by any Home Depot store because it's huge and it takes me forever to find a specific item. It was the case when I first stepped into a Home Depot in Rochester, MN. I spent a good thirty minutes trying to find tubing. Well, I was in the area picking up baked goods and bubble tea. I needed some heavy duty 3M Command strips and thought that I'd try finding some here. I didn't have any problems finding a parking spot. There were so many. I settled for a spot and backed into it. I then walked into the store. I saw express order lockers when I walked through the first set of automatic doors. Cool! There are washrooms on the right when you first walk in. I realized that I needed a pit stop. The women's washroom was super clean and nicely maintained. I'm not sure whether I had a ton of luck on my side during my first visit, but I found the 3M Command section right off the bat. Should I go to Vegas and bet my entire paycheque playing slots? Perhaps. I found the strips that I needed after spending a good five minutes looking at all options. The selection was impressive. I recently returned to look at batteries. They have everything from ones for your watches to 9 volt batteries that I rarely use these days. It was a nice touch seeing hydrangeas last week. It felt like Spring just before it snowed again. Ugh! I paid at one of the self-checkout kiosks. Each kiosk has a massive scanner that actually felt good holding it. It was surprisingly ergonomic and effective. I paid with a debit card. It was a smooth transaction. I happily left this store without spending half an hour looking for a single item. It's a cool store. I feel good returning here. It's now my lucky Home Depot. I am writing to report a serious safety incident that occurred immediately after renting a trailer from your store at 1201 Castlemore Avenue, Markham, ON L6E0G5. At the time of pickup (approximately 4:00 PM), I personally connected the trailer to my vehicle. Before doing so, I clearly informed your employee that I was not fully familiar with how to properly connect the trailer. He then came outside and provided basic guidance on how to connect it. After I completed the connection, the employee told me that everything was fine and that I was good to go. To be certain, I asked him again to confirm whether everything was properly connected and safe to leave. He reassured me a second time that I was fine to go. At no point did he perform any inspection or verification of the connection. He did not check whether the coupler was properly secured, did not verify the safety latch or pin, and did not check the trailer lights. Shortly after leaving the store--approximately one block away--I noticed that the vehicle did not feel stable. Within moments, the trailer became detached from the hitch, creating a dangerous situation and resulting in damage to my vehicle. After the incident, I contacted the store and a manager arrived on site with another employee. While attempting to assess the situation, they observed that the trailer coupler was not properly securing onto the hitch ball. Specifically, the coupler did not fully engage or lock onto the ball, and instead appeared to sit partially on top without properly securing, even though the pin mechanism could be inserted. I recorded a video of this condition at the time. During this interaction, once it became apparent that I was documenting the situation, the employees indicated they could no longer assist further and left the scene. At the time of writing this message, I have been waiting for over two hours for assistance or for the trailer to be retrieved, without any clear communication or resolution. Given the seriousness of this incident, I am very concerned about both the safety of the equipment and the lack of proper procedures followed at the time of rental and afterward. A proper verification of the hitch connection and safety components could have prevented this situation. read more

I've been shopping at the Castlemore location for 10+ years. Overall service has been acceptable. Had an eye opener the last time I shopped there. I was looking for a unit cost on batteries and having forgotten my phone, approached one of the associates for help. Mr. Singh started off by asking me where my phone was. Added comment 'you're from India you should be able to calculate it in your head, Indians are good at math.' Told him not all are good at math. He then looked at the batteries and informed me of the cost. Obvious to the fact, I asked him where he was from. He stated I'm from India and I'm proud of it. I paid and left the store. read more

I must say, even though I didn't buy anything on my most recent visit, I had at least 1 to 3 employees go out of their way to attempt to look for what I was trying to find. Even tried a few times on their handheld devices and desktop computers. I'm impressed. read more

The newest Home Depot in the area. Great customers services compare to the others I been to. I been asked quite a few times in different departments if I need help. I know, I look lost but I just love browsing around in Hardware store..... The new storefront design is really catchy, love that! But if you here expect to see a Harvey or Second Cup you might be disappointed! read more

Two giant thumbs down for this place. I placed an online order and went to this location to pick up my items via the curb side service. There was 12-14 cars all parked beside each other instead of parking a spot apart to ensure social distancing. The employee who brought my items out would not place the items in my trunk, even though I had opened the trunk. I had to step out and open the door before they placed the items inside. This defeats the whole purpose of social distancing. The whole process took almost an hour which is not acceptable. Then when I arrived home, I discovered one of the items I purchased was not placed in my car. It took two days before I connected with an employee over the phone about the missing item. They told me I could come back to the store but after the first experience I insisted they ship the item to me. The store refused because the item has additional costs to ship. This curb side pickup and how HD cares about it's customers is a lie. Instead of correcting the problem and sending me the item I need, the choose to refund me because it was easier. A lot of business claim that they care and want to help but they really don't. read more

I rarely write reviews about big boxes stores, but this Home Depot has amazing customer service and it has to be recognized. Over the last 2 weeks, I've been here 3 time. 1) A gentleman kindly helped me select a furnace filter after my high performance one kept overheating my furnace. Didn't even have to ask for help, he approached me when I stood there clueless. 2) A lady at self checkout ushered me over when she noticed the cashiers were backed up. She helped me checkout and even bagged everything as she knew I was struggling with my baby. 3) A lady at customer service greeted me warmly when I needed to exchange something. She was quick and efficient. I didn't have to page anyone, the moment she say me she jumped in to help. Overall a great experience here. Honestly, the service makes me want to give this Home Depot more business! read more

i purchased a 20 inch ryobi lawnmower from Home Depot. it died 1 year later. it's been at the ryobi service centre in Toronto for 5 weeks waiting for a part. after this long if they can't get the part they should just replace the mower. dealing with ryobi and Home Depot is absolutely useless. piss poor service read more

Worst Home Depot I have been to. Very difficult to find an associate, and when you finally do, they are largely very unhelpful. My review is based on my most recent visit, which was to schedule a home depot service of double door installation on my new home. We set up the appointment. THREE TIMES the person, Yang, "forgets" the appointment. We had scheduled the site visit for before we took possession of the new home, so had to work to book the time with realtors etc and this person gets it wrong. After the second time, we even called him and emailed him to confirm and he promised to be there. No show. We call him and ask him where he is and he advises he "thought it was the next day". Keep in mind this is for a $8k project. We shouldnt have to work this hard just to get the site measure done. Complained to the store and they were very nonchalant about it. Better to avoid the jack of all trades master of none and go to a specialty store where your business is wanted and you receive good customer service read more

Today my father, who is a 20 year veteran of home depot services, was accused of stealing and the employee laid his hand on my father and grabbed the item. The employee approached my father upon existing the store and asked for a receipt. My father gave him the wrong one and without another question ripped the can of paint out of his hand and walked back into the store. By the way, my father is old. We had to get my brother down there (less than 10 minutes away) to settle everything and he was told that the manager and the employee (same person??) had left for the day (or hiding??). They assessment the situation, my dad had time to show the correct receipt, they gave an apology on behalf of the employee and we called it a day. Tomorrow is another day and I will update with both manager name and employee name. Working with customers is a privilege and if it's not true for someone, they need to leave to allow more interested people to take on the role. I realize that this is not a fair review of the store, but the store (represented by the employee) did not provide a fair assessment of the situation. read more

Terrible customer service. If you need to make a serious/large scale purchase but need assistance don't come here.. The employee who was completing my purchase ignored me and dealt with someone else even though i was waiting for so long and ended up waiting longer while another customer completed his purchase.. Literally in the middle of entering my transaction another customer swooped in and was dealt with immediately and I sat there thinking if it was a joke... No apologies from the customer.. I politely complained to the employee that what he did was unprofessional and bad customer service.. Why did the other customer who came after me get priority when I had been waiting for an hour?? He stated he found nothing wrong with his service and blamed me for being busy on my phone!! Won't be coming back here again. I came here recently to get Alaskan Salt that's been sold out everywhere. The lady on the phone said they had 6 bags. When I went they said they had none even though I told them I was advised otherwise. A man showed me an area to check and when I turned around to ask him a question he disappeared. Not cool. New Home Depot in the 16th and Markham Road area, located in plaza along with Food Basic and other restaurants. Great customer service, staff are always willing to help. My friend and I came here couple times to buy some materials for renovations and also for returns. We had a positive shopping experience with all trips. read more
