Home Depot, Madera: 27 May 2021 I HATE shopping at Home Depot - but, today, the staff there made me feel fuzzy and warm. Alex and Daniel were especially helpful. Alex helped me find an item that we wanted - and both she and Daniel helped us roll the super large sized boxes to our car. Daniel helped Dan load the items. Dan tried to offer them both a tip but they declined... stating they're not allowed to accept tips. That's a shame. I think they should both be rewarded for doing a good job. Was very impressed by the help I received by Roger, I believe he said he worked the garden department. He was very patient, took his time to help me and to answer all my questions. Was looking at a leaf blower when he approached me. Asked if I needed help. Don't think I would have bought it if it wasn't for him stopping by to help me and showing me the product. Do not buy engineered Hardwood flooring from Home Depot. I bought HomeLegend Gunstock White Oak. After it was installed it outgassed so much formaldehyde that it csused me to get sick. My nose and throst and skin are burning. Both Home Depot and the manufacturer have both refused to help me. Jone Depot is selling floors that cause cancer and Leukemia and when I adk them to perform a test so i can find out how poisened i have been by the formaldehyde the managers say they wont fo anything!! Ive contacted EPA, Poison Control and Public Health and they are investigating. Ive had to spend a lotbof money to stay in a hotel. ITS VERY CLEAR THAT HOME DEPOT DOES NOT CARE IF THE PRODUCTS THEY ARE SELLING ARE CANCER CAUSING AND ARE MAKING PEOPLE SICK. I bought a sliding glass door in May, 2023. I paid for it in May as well. It was installed approximately 3 weeks later. It NEVER EVER worked properly. Both the slider and the screen door dragged severely. I was told that the door will eventually work it self out. It needed to be "broke in". Another worker tried to fix my door... and the wheels fell off! Incredible!! No wonder it dragged! Another 4 weeks later the same worker returned with just some new wheels. Not a new screen door. Yet, the door still dragged! This same worker said a new screen door was ordered. I have yet to receive my door, and now August is almost over. Today, a worker was supposed to arrive at 11:00. It is now 12:00 and he is not here yet. No courtesy call was forthcoming! I will NEVER EVER do business with Home Depot again!! Additionally, I lost a days work waiting for this joker!!!! read more

Home depot is not my favorite when it comes to home improvement stores, but there is some good things about this location. First I would like to say the customer service seems good here. I do find deals occasionally that are sometimes better than comparable stores. Also, I'm in and out of these home improvement stores often and I do like the self check out feature - it makes getting what you need and getting on with your day much easier for me. The store is pretty clean, and they now have lockers similar to Amazon so you can pick up your online purchases at the front entrance. The one thing that really separates this store from the other local home improvement store is the tool rental, they have tons of tools to rent and the prices are good.. read more

The only way to get help in this dump, is to act like you own the place! I went there a few days ago with my wife, and mother in law. She used 2 different electric carts, and they both died on her, yet they were both plugged in when we got them. I've been in the building trades over 20 years, so I know my way around this place. We needed to get some 2x4's cut, and couldn't get any workers attention, so I started cutting some wood on my own. When I was almost done, some kid (who probably didn't know what he was doing), tried to play safety guy. I was done, and took my pieces I needed. He followed us to the front, like I stole something. I paid for all the wood I cut, and left him some behind. Seems like they're more worried about people stealing, than helping them out. I won't be back, unless Lowes is closed!!! read more

We had floors installed and purchased here. I will tell you horrible experience. Purchased floors and the install at end of March 2022. Floors did not get installed until June 2022. Apparently the flooring we wanted was on back order which no one explained to us. Wanted to cancel because they couldn't give me a date of when floors would be in. They promised a refund of 1500 if we kept the order with them. That was a mistake because when flooring came in the first sub contractor quit 2 days in then there was a change order for 1k and this whole time I had know where to put my family because I was having the whole house done with new flooring. Had to miss work to be there with second sub that was hired and get hotel for my family to stay in. They finished in June and we are almost in August and Home Depot still have not held up to their end of the deal. Definitely not using them again. I will go to lowes or hire my own contractor. I went in to get some vertical blinds for four rooms. I found what I wanted so I went to an associate and asked if there were anyone available to cut them. She said she would get someone. After waiting 20 minutes without anyone coming I walked out. I know my 300 dollars isn't much to them but it is to me. I guess this is why there is a Lowe's just down the street. Heading there now. I see 2 at the service desk, one employee using a floor push cleaner. One employee at the self checkout. 3 cashiers open with no customers. Two cashiers are standing in the aisle way waiting to usher customers in quickly. I realize all of these people aren't the one cutting blinds however, could one of these people fill in for the person that can? read more

Its Home Depot, what more can I say??? We were building some kinda corral kinda thing for my boyfriends cows. We needed wood, we went down to check prices. They have a sign posted at the entrance saying the have the LOWEST prices guaranteed!! Oh goodness, they need to check again... We went and checked Lowes right after and Lowes has the Depot beat by a penny!!! LOL... I had to laugh. We ended up sticking with Home Depot, which turned out to be a mistake. When we all finally decided how much wood and stuff we needed, my boyfriend called and asked for specific sizes. The dude on the phone said they had everything we were looking for, we get there, and that was another story!! So like I said before, its Home Depot, I can't say much more because almost all Home Depots have crappy customer service like that. This is directed toward the rental dept, we rented a tractor today paying almost $500.00 with fees & taxes for one day. We spend 30 minutes washing it down after we finished and it looked good, as we deliver it back and talk to the employee who will be checking us out the very first thing he says is the unit is dirty and my boss isn't going to like it. The reason why this is crazy and the reason why I'm writing this review is it's common practice with them. We rented in Fresno same thing happen, first of all it's a tractor! It's unfortunate that a company as large as Home Depot feels the need to hammer customers on this, if we do our work and drop it off that's one thing. We take pride in our company owned equipment and do that as well with rented equipment. I'm encouraging anyone thinking of renting from Home Depot beware! read more

I love this place. Seriously. The employees are always helpful if you need to find something, or if you have questions... And, unlike another home improvement store down the road- the employees don't disappear when you actually need help. The check out lines ALWAYS have more than one cashier, and the employees actually know where things are located in their store. The garden department is always restocking with seasonal plants and trees. Paint department can color match anything, and the return counter isn't going to hassle you. People are friendly, store is clean, and if it's not in stock, home depot is more than happy to order it for you. read more

Supper fuckin disappointed with the customer service here! My family and I ordered a pallet of bricks and payed for them to get delivered to our home. The delivery guy left our pallet at the end of our driveway/sidewalk, we asked if they can place it in our garage or up the driveway closer to the house and they said NO. They used a forklift , so I don't see why it would have been so difficult to move the pallet up. We called Home Depot to inform them that the driver was unhelpful and how inconvenient that was. The person that we spoke to was very rude saying it was our fault that we did not specify in the comments section. My wife tells me that I'm crazy but I love going here. Always looking at the tools, the plants or other parts. Everything is well organized and clean. Pricing is fair and they always have deals. The only thing I don't like is the Solar City mosquitoes annoying you every time you walk by. But besides that, I love going there way better than Lowe's. read more

This is not regarding this specific location. I placed an order online for a $1,000.00 vanity for my restroom on October 31st. Was told it would ship and be delivered on Nov 5th. Never came. Waited another week. Nobody reached out to me. Called them and they said it would be delivered the day before thanksgiving. Guess what? Nothing! Called back. Was told it would be delivered on the 4th of December. Today is the 5th and nothing! I'm beyond annoyed. They are giving me the run around and saying it's the delivery services fault. My husband and I were in the Madera, CA Home Depot store at customer service about 2:30pm Pacific on 12/1/2018. We were wanting to order a commercial water heater and for payment we would need to make it in two different tenders. We were told that online you cannot do that. Okay we understand that, we asked to have it special ordered and delivered to the store and then we would pay for it the way we wanted. The assistant manager Joey said we would have to purchase a gift card to pay for it. We just shook our heads thinking what, okay. So we passed. We walked out the door not purchasing the water heater. We will order it somewhere else where we can get it about $200 cheaper. Also, while there you had a line in the refunds and no one else around to help until the assistant manager came and delegated orders. Just poor customer service. We went to Lowe's before going to Home Depot and walking through Lowe's we had about 5 people asking if we need help in finding anything. At Home Depot we had to search someone down to ask where to order the water heater. I don't know if you do refresh customer service classes or not but you may want to invest in those for the future. Ask your employees how they want to be treated when they are shopping and then ask if they think they are giving your customers with good customer service. read more

I recently bought several appliances from them. I wanted them all installed by them which is an extra charge. Well the sales guy failed to tell me that if you have a back splash the instal guys will not install. Then the install guys refused to install my stove. They were rude the whole time they were at my house. When I called Home Depot they said to refuse my order and then wait 24 hours to call back to reschedule another day to come back and install the microwave and stove. We had to wait 20 plus days to have them installed I didn't want to wait another 20 plus days to get them Installed. Pour customer service all the way around. I am still trying to get a refund for the install $$ for the microwave and stove they did not install. read more

Alice or Alicia whatever HER name is was not helpful at all. Walked around like she owns the place. Thought she was just a regular customer by the looks but for Home Depot to hire such people who walk around with an attitude and don't like helping customers is just embarrassing. Seriously Home Depot, get it together. Your indoor house plant department is so sad looking. I almost feel bad for the plants in this department.
