Horrible customer service from scheduling department. They are the worst. They have a 30 day diligent inflexible delivery policy. On my 60 th birthday the girl insisted I take delivery of a dishwasher installation. She wouldn't budge under any conditions even though it was 28 days (she couldn't do the math either). Then she didn't even schedule it. So on my 60th birthday I had to drive 3 hours to this hell hole in lemoore and sit by myself and refuse my birthday breakfast with family and wait for a delivery that never was coming. I went to Home Depot tonight simply because it's closer to my house, because I think they and Lowe's are pretty much close they're having the same things, although Lowe's has a much cleaner and nicer set up as far as displaying their products. I went looking for some strange things that I would never normally look for in a store and was pretty sure I was going to have to fend for myself because I haven't had very good luck at this Home Depot. Most of the time I'm either ignored, rarely smiled out or spoken to when an employee looks at me when I enter the store, and when I do call somebody from the end of an aisle and say "excuse me, sir can you help me?" I'm often then ignored as well, and they occasionally even hustle themselves up the aisle and around the corner and hightail it out of there. When I do manage to get their attention, they often look down at their feet or roll their eyes like "Oh dear God, I have to deal with another old lady again", Lovely, Right? I have to say that most of these are younger people (younger than 50 actually), and I'm not an "old lady" who doesn't like young people. I'm an old lady who was brought up to be nice and polite to everyone, and I always have been. I've worked jobs that I didn't like, and/or for and with people I didn't like, like we all have, and I remember how that feels. So my goal has always been to attempt to make eye contact and to be friendly, no matter where I am. So don't be thinking it's me, because it's not. I'm going to write FOUR 5-Star reviews in a row tonight for Home Depot staff members in this Hanford store, and in the past few months, I have only written ONE 5-Star review for ANY of them (out of about 5 others) because for months and months (and I shop here often because I'm a home DIY-er). I've never been treated so rudely or ignored so often, or spoken to anyone in the aisles of that store who knows ANYTHING about ANYTHING in that store!! And they aren't even embarrassed about it. No, I'm not in a bad mood, actually I'm in a really great mood, because tonight I dealt with three of the nicest, friendliest, most knowledgeable and helpful staff members practically ever (except for Bob and Gerald, and if you shop there you probably know who they are because everybody likes them because they know everything about everything in that store and about how to do all kinds of things, and are sweet and friendly and kind). So! Prefacing all of that above, keep that in mind when you read these next 5-Star reviews, so you'll see what it's like when the same person can write really glowing and/or really derogatory reviews depending upon the customer service they receive, and it has absolutely nothing to do with that shopper, except she is keenly aware of people's body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice, as well as their knowledge of the store and their products, and is outspoken enough to tell the honest to God truth about her experiences wherever she shops when it gets great or terrible customer service. So, onward and upward to number one great employee when I first entered the store tonight. I don't normally use a handicap cart, but I got injured this week and had a bad wrist, neck and back, and I really needed that cart tonight. I knew that what I needed was at the rear left of the store so I went to the north end of the parking lot and parked there, and entered that north side door. Normally, there are handicap carts available inside the middle entrance where the customer service and returns area is, so I thought there would be some at either end, but to my disappointment there weren't any. I guess my disappointment showed on my face because the young man at the nearest checkstand to my right immediately caught my eye, smiled at me, and said "hello", and I immediately smiled and said "hello" back and asked "Aren't there any handicap carts at this end?" he told me that there weren't and I sighed and turned around to walk all the way back to the father entrance the store OK girl yeah you're proud of yourself. My name is Raymond Maturino. I visited The Home Depot in Hanford CA to pick up my online order. I needed to report and leave a review of the unprofessional and horrible customer service, specifically Dianne, who thought it was funny to disrespect me, by calling me out of my name, then smirked and refused to say my name the way I deserved to be called, like it is ok to not exhibit respect when a customer isn't happy that the way one is called their name and they are wrong for wanting to be called by their name or at least close to it. Instead, she smirked like it was funny while the other employees in the vicinity doing nothing, stood there gossiping and malingering. I have been a customer at this Home Depot for 11 years. I never submitted a complaint. On the contrary, I usually submit customer surveys with appreciation and respect. Unfortunately, Dianne at the customer service point decided, for whatever unknown reason, to treat me as a burden or inconvenience to their interruption of gossip and malingering at their customer service point. 4 employees and no customers. I was the only customer walking up to the counter where I asked a male employee who was there having fun with another female employee just laughing and having a good time when I approached the male employee who was standing by the register for help in my online pick up. He calls over Dianne to help me because he was busy having fun doing nothing but chit chatting with a female employee. Dianne makes me repeat my order number 2 times because she "couldn't hear me," and it was because they were unprofessionally playing and laughing while I'm there to pick up my order. Dianne decides to ask me to repeat it a 3rd time and when I started to repeat it, she said, "I'm just playing, I got it." Then she asks me for my name for verification. I told her Raymond Maturino as she was looking at her screen. She say's "Raymond Matriano?" I say, "Please call me by my name. It's Ma-tu-ri-no and it's right in front of you, so instead of disrespecting my name, you can sound it out." Her response, "a smirk on her face like it was funny and an anyway," as she retrieved my order behind the cage. I asked her for name which she say's, "it's right here," pointing to it on her shirt. It was a Housel and the manager I spoke with was like oh well that's the price for the bottom boards. My girlfriend purchased a gas grill for Father's Day, bless her heart, and we never received it. Their excuse is the single van they own is reported stolen and they have no estimate on when they'll get a replacement. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I placed two orders online with Home Depot. One on 4/29/2020 and 5/3.. l received two emails for both my orders are ready for pickup and in the emails it gives me a date l have to pick up by. One date 5/29 and the other 6/2. A couple of days later l get a reminder email to pick up. Then the next day l get an email update saying l have 7 days to pick it up and my new date was 5/12. Today is 5/6 and l get an email saying today is the last day for me to pick up my orders! Wth!!! Never once did Home Depot send me an email l had to pick up my order by 5/6. They send me an email that day saying it's my last day to pick up my orders. So l noticed they're hours were closing at 8pm because of covid. Recently they're hours were closing at 6pm because of covid so l couldn't go after work and the mornings l didn't have time to pick up. Then they switch back to 8pm. THEN l get to Home Depot and curbside was blocked off. So I called and spoke to a girl and said curbside was done at 6pm but no where in the email it says that just store hours, and after 6pm l had to come into the store. I then asked her what happens to my order if it gets cancelled do l get a refund. She said yes and told her l couldn't come down because l have a new baby and just got off work and that today was the last day for me to pick up my order or it will be canceled. She could of offered to bring it out to me as good customer service especially with everything going on right now with the covid. No one really wants to go out in public and me being a healthcare worker l don't like to go out too much in public. She just apologized and we hung up. So disappointing! A few days ago, I returned 2 plants that refused to live to my local Hanford Home Depot. The associate at the desk, Diane, was so off-putting. My husband was trying to be helpful by lifting one of the plants out of the bag so she could easily scan the bar code and he accidentally got some soil on the counter. She acted like it was the end of the world. She rolled her eyes when I started sweeping the soil back into the bad with my hand. My husband offered to walk around with the bag and she actuality said "ya that would have been great." Then she jerked up a container of wipes and yanked 2 out and pretty much slammed them down in front of us. By then I was pissed and said I hope you don't except us to clean your counter. She glared at me. Then she said I didn't have the right receipt for the second plant because it wasn't the same as the first one she scanned twice. I told her they were both on the same receipt. She looked at said she didn't know they were different and I told her that I mentioned that at the beginning of the transaction. She got mad all over again bc she assumed the were the same and scanned twice. She refunded my card and I asked her name. She said "Diane" almost angrily. Then said THANK YOU! very sarcastically. I order a retro refrigerator and was given the wrong size. I order a 10 cubic and the salesmen put on the receipt 4 cubic. I didn't have my reading glasses on me to check it was the right item. The kicker was it was never delivered to my home, which I was charged for the delivery. I have awesome neighbors and they brought it to me. Now I have to take it back to them. Hi there, I had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER AT YOUR STORE. My order number is H1073-115868 The order was placed 01st of Mar 2021.. I picked up 110 pickets next day and they were out of 30. Since than it comes and goes. I had called earlier today in the morning to pick up rest of the 30 and what ever 170 of the extra one they have at store and confirmed with the lady at the desk over the phone. I wanted to place an order for other 270 the lady ask me to come in person and pay for it for the order since I need it to b delivered. I came after work driving 40 miles from my home town AVENAL with the trailer only to find out that there is none available for me to pick up. And when I mentioned to the supervisor name CASSANDRA she simply ignored me and told me that their is nothing she could do. On top of that return the money for rest of 30 pickets and basically kicked me out. I want you to confirm this with the person CASSANDRA if everything I said is correct or not. Please,I really don't want this happening to the other customers too. We already have Lowe's next to Home Depot if this the way it's going to b .. I'm done with Home Depot. I'm pretty sure loosing one customer won't make a big difference but I feel really disrespected to went over their for nothing and got her rude behavior. We bought a swing set that was missing hardware, we asked the company for a replacement and long story short we had to come buy the screws/bolts/nuts separately.. walked into the Selma Ca they were rude and -100% helpful, next day we come to Hanford Ca location and asked Jim with the glasses for some help AND HE IS A SAINT! Meticulous labeled every screw we needed by letter and counted out each amount needed for everything. He spent maybe 30-45 minutes with us and was the most pleasant person I've ever had assist me in a Home Depot store. So how does one chose between Home Depot or Lowes? Well for me, it was always about location. While they are usually situated close to one another. This isn't the case for these two. HD is a tad bit closer especially when you are looking for a common item (light bulbs). In the past, my go to place was Lowe's. Not only for location but the store (San Diego) was newer, cleaner and laid out well. Unfortunately Lowe's lacked employees which could answer basic questions, or figure out the "thingamabob" I was looking for. Meaning, while both stores provide jobs for those who need it, one of the things missing from most employees is experience. I'm talking about industry experience (electricians, carpenters, etc...) It is actually extremely sad to see more employes in the store than customers. While normally this would be a great thing, the lack of customers can be an indicator of a slowing economy, No one is doing home improvement and contractors are not lining up at the door. As for this location, the lay out is much different than others. The check-out/registers are located at one end of the store. However they do provide self-checkout. A bonus. read more

I had a difficult time locating an item that showed in stock but unfortunately wasn't. In the past when I have asked for help I was usually given the run around which is very frustrating but my last trip was far from that. I was blown away by the excellent customer service I received from Brandon T. and Tyler. They went above and beyond to make sure I left happy. Hit or miss with the staff if you can locate them. The older people seem to be more helpful while the younger avoid you like the plague. Don't count on them to cut the wood properly unless you are right there watching. They messed up $150 worth of wood a couple years back for me. The prices are similar to Lowe's but sometimes you get a better deal. I love the military discount but I don't like how rude they are if you are a spouse about it sometimes. So I can't say for any other associates or management but I will say that the Hanford Home Depot's hardware associates are amazing and some of the most helpful people in store. I've been in there several times and was assisted when needed by each of them. The other day I needed some rekeying done and associates Adolfo and Rebekkah were more than helpful in getting it done quickly and correctly. Another associate, Maureen, was able to answer several of my questions about the power tools and even managed to find me a good deal on a drill set by ryobi. I think he's the opening associate, but Rodney was very helpful too as he not only helped me with my hardware questions, but also my plumbing ones. There's a fifth guy (pretty sure his name is Mike) I've seen working there and he managed to help me find the exact bolts I needed for my project (finishing a bed frame that only gave me half the necessary hardware) Great people and helpers. My HD experience was beyond awful!! While my husband was still in the store finishing up our order I headed outside to the car and I spotted a hundred dollar bill on the ground. I picked it up and immediately went back in the store and asked to speak to a Manager (as I figured a manager might be more likely to hold the money properly in case whoever lost it came back asking for it) and the clerk was on the phone. So, I waited until he hung up and asked him for a manager. I was literally yelled at with "What do you need"? I was shocked at first then I was enraged! The employee was speaking to another customer so I asked if he could call another employee to assist me. His response was "I'm the only one here." So I asked if he was the only employee in the entire store. He said, "there's a girl out front watering the plants you could go ask her." This store continues to disappoint in the customer service department!!! Walked into the store had to walk around a group of employees standing around talking and walked by without being greeted. Headed to aisle 2 for spider killer and was blocked by an associate putting away stock. I excused myself and walked around him to search the pesticides. I asked him a question and I assumed he didn't hear me because he kept walking.. he came back to his cart of stock and I again asked him if what I had would be sufficient and his response was "I don't know.. I wish I could give them 0 stars. So two months ago I went to get a storm door when they were having a 15% off sale. Home Depot also stated if I used my Home Depot card I could get an additional 10% off and install would be $50. Well I paid for the instal and for them to come check measure my door. They wouldn't let me buy the door until someone measured it by them. So the company they contracted out refused to come to my home to measure because they said my house is stucko and they know my neighborhood. "It's wood not stucko." I called the install company and home depot multiple times and could not get someone to measure it. The special ended and finally two months later someone came to measure. Now they won't honor our deal and want to charge me almost full price. The manager won't even call me they have someone else call me from the store that tries to help but he has no authority to change anything. 08/13/2017 purchase OK bought some plastic shelves after showing the employee what seemed to be a crack and was rest assured to be a scratch. While I go home open and what do you know it's cracked. Drove back down to exchange only to be encountered by miss don't give a crap. Home Depot made a very disappointing change in the gallon paint cans of Behr paint. I bought a gallon today and noticed that it has a plastic top instead of the traditional metal top. I got home and found out that the red rubberized snap on pouring covers sold at Home Depot are not useable on the new plastic Behr tops. I have purchased several of the covers, which have worked great in the past, and now I cannot use them on the new cans. I had to pour the paint from the new can into an older can so I could use a pouring cover. I hope Home Depot will go back to the traditional metal lids, or else redesign the plastic lids so customers can use the pouring covers. read more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. No one here is not helpful at all. I asked if they had a certain item in stock and they sent me to the wrong aisle. To top that on my recent visit, I asked if they had fans/air conditioners in stock to a group of workers that were just sitting down hanging out and the response I got from one of them was " no I don't think we do. I don't pay attention to anything here " while the other worker helped. I also do not like the fact that everywhere I go the workers are just hanging out doing nothing but having a chat and talking about wanting to see if one has single friends because they want to hook up with someone. Was thoroughly INSULTED by the PPG rep who was rude, condescending and basically told me my husband was stupid when he wasn't even there. That's just the short story. I will NEVER EVER buy PPG paint (as I didn't!) and I'm hesitant to go back to Home Depot because after he was rude and I asked for help with Behr, he and the two ladies he was chatting about life with, all walked away. I'm going to do a 2 for 1 review: Home Depot and Lowes. Each gets 4 stars, but for different reasons. Read on... For the while, Hanford only had Home Depot, and that's where I shopped until Lowes came along. My husband and I needed some home improvement supply, and he wanted to go to Lowes. I asked him why (never having been in a Lowes). He answers, "Customer service. You'll see what I mean." and boy did I ever. Lowes customer service is leaps and bounds better than Home Depots (at least here in Hanford). Associates will come up and ask if you need help finding anything. At HD, you have to search for someone, and half the time they are in a different department and have to call someone, who may or may not know what you are looking for. The customer service at Lowes is so good that we will always choose to go there first over HD. It's really just that simple. The people at Lowes seem to connect with you, they ask about your project, they talk about projects they have done in the same wheelhouse and actually share tips and give helpful suggestions. The folks at HD just seem to want to get rid of you so they can get back to some sandwich they have waiting in the breakroom. I'm not saying that's what is really happening, but it sure seems like it sometimes. Why are HD employees never in their departments??? Why must you always have to find someone to "call" them to come assist??? Now, I know I'm coming down hard on Home Depot, but now it's Lowes turn in the hot seat. The one thing that redeems HD is a free service that both stores offer. Two words: Kids Workshop. HD is doing this right and Lowes needs to pay attention, because after my kid builds their toy, I buzz around the store grabbing supplies that I was too lazy to go get during the week. There are some SIGNIFICANT differences in these 2 programs. Let's start... first you go online and register your child for the upcoming workshop. If you are registering for Home Depot's, it's a fairly painless process, hit a couple of buttons, hit the finish button and receive a nice email reminder. If you are trying to register for the Lowes workshop, well... good luck with that. I have literally only been able to register my child for 1 in the last year. After a few months of the workshops always being full, I gave up on the whole thing with them. If you don't know the exact date they post the workshop online, it will be full. And that is NOT OK. I get that it's a free workshop and all, but it irritates me enough that I've devoted an entire half of my review to this issue. Am I resentful? Yes. If HD gets their customer service issue resolved will this kid workshop thing become my deciding factor on where to start shopping... absolutely. Stop being stingy with the little wood workshop kits, Lowes... make room for everyone. If you manage to get your kids one of the coveted seats at the Lowes workshop, you then get to fill out this permission slip and print it out, so make sure you have ink in the ole jet printer. For whatever reason, this just bugs me. After finally getting my kid a seat on this thing, I was terrified I was going to forget this very formal looking permission slip and get him booted from the workshop or something. It's a freaking kids workshop, Lowes, I get that the lawyers told you all the issues that could arise, but it doesn't have to be like this. One of you big wigs grab your kid and sneak over to Home Depot's kids workshop and take some secret surveillance video or something. Seriously... you guys have got to dial this in. Ok.... so that was my experience with that... now let me tell you what is happening over at HD where times are simpler. We show up, there is an area outside (or inside during the winter) roped off and there is PLENTY of room for everyone. You sign in (where you give your kids name -you only have to fill out the address and other stuff on your first visit, after that it's kid's name and sign and go-), they hand you your kit and pin (and apron if it's your first visit) and you find a work station. Then you build, employees will roam around and offer to help if you look completely lost (don't ask how I know that LOL). There are times that they will be grilling hot dogs and have water and balloons and games set up. One time Homer, their mascot, was visiting. We always have a good time... and because of that, HD has earned a place in my heart. Thanks for providing this service, making it available to so many kids, making it free... the memories I'm making with my son doing this together are priceless. It's not a huge time sink either (I love that it's only once a month and that it doesn't take up the entire day). Home Depot... you really are doing this right, don't stop, and thank you. So, that's the long and short of it. Both store sell the same stuff at about the same price. I purchased an LG washer and dryer at Home Depot in Hanford two years ago. I bought the 5-year warranty. It's two years later, and the washer started leaking. I called for service, and they said the drum needs to be replaced. It's been one month today since they came to service the machine, and they say the part has not come in. Horrible service!!! Bought a fridge there and said that it would be delivered today but last minute said that it was an error and it has to wait another 5 days. Spoke with the manager who gave us basically no practical alternative to help fix this problem. We ended up refunding the fridge and buy a new one from Lowe's they have same day delivery Bye home depot!! You are losing our business forever!! read more
