Avoid this place! I arrived at the store and a friendly guy helped me to find what I needed and looked at the prices with me. When I got to the checkout, the prices were much higher. They said it was wrong and I had to pay the price. That's why Amazon is growing every day. AVOID THIS HARDWARE STORE! *7/4/25, Hello Mike, I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my review and I have updated my rating from 1 to 3. As a small business owner, you should have absolute control over your employees and store activities. What happened to me is unacceptable, and the person at the register was rude. I avoid these types of people and simply walked out of the store, saying, "This is not right." Thank you, but you do not need to honor my price because I already purchased everything I needed at Home Depot. Good luck with your business! read more

Yes thanks for taking care of me on a returned item John an the young lady cashier appreciate the excellent service

Outstanding customer service- they are looking to help you. Friendly and a wide selection to solve any issues- highly recommended!

Picked up a faucet, wrench, and tape for under $60. The next day the owner and his family stopped bicycling and spent two hours helping my daughters retrieve their toy caught in a tree. Mike is a great guy with a great family and business. read more

Nelson's Ace Hardware - Hearts of gold! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Kingsburg, California

A place where everybody knows your name! Friendly staff always willing to help you find what you are looking for or figure out your project. They do a good job at trying to taylor their store selection to the local community, for a small hardware store, it's pretty well stocked. If they don't have it, they will get you connected with a nearby store to help you get it. Beats getting lost at the big orange box store. read more

I always get the best customer service there. Be sure to check out the Sale Plant Area. I found some great plants for $2 and a tree for $29! I found some canning jars and pickle spice packages and some dog treats. They have so much to look at. They even help you carry your purchases out to your car. A couple of weeks ago our air conditioner broke down, they ordered a window model for us and it came in a couple of days! I always go there first before going to the other hardware stores in town. read more

I placed a online order for an outdoor clothes dryer from a local large chain store. It was so cheap with plastic fittings. IT wasn't going to last more then 3 months. So I returned it and decided to order one from Nelsons Ace Hardware in Kingsburg. The same day that i ordered it, they called me that my online order was ready for pickup. I couldn't believe how fast they where. I picked the box up and it was noticeably heavier than the first. I Got it home took it out of the box and was super excited that it was made very well. With galvanized steel center post and frame. No plastic anywhere. The line didn't even sag when I put wet clothes on them like they did with the other one I first bought. I'm super happy with customer service we always get from Nelsons Ace Hardware in Kingsburg. They are always ready to help and answer any questions you may have . Thank you Nelsons Ace Hardware. Your the best ! read more

I love this place. Staff is friendly, and the store is always clean and organized. Wish they were open on Sunday though.

After asking a few questions he became combative and condescending saying "Do you work in retail" implying we have no common sense about how returns are done. I'm sure you feel that the entire town of Kingsburg is nothing but white nationalist racist thugs because your little trick of buying a tool, doing your project, then trying to return an obviously used tool FAILED. It's not a tool rental, it's a purchase. Do you think anyone wants to buy your used tools? Of course the Selma store returned your used tool. They would rather take a loss on the tool than pay expensive litigation fees for your bogus lawsuit. Somehow your Selma Ace Hardware reference implies that location has no white people. Good job! You must be extremely proud of yourself. read more

Owner Does Not Take COVID-19 Seriously! I went to the ACE Hardware store, about two months ago, as one of my sprinkler valves was leaking and needed to be fixed, immediately. When I walked into the store, no one was wearing a mask and there was no social distancing. I asked an employee about the store's safety protocol and the employee stated to me, that they did not have any safety protocols, "as the virus was not a big deal", I advised the employee, that it really was a big deal, as my sister was in the ICU with COVID-19 and I hadn't seen my daughter in over 3 months. He didn't even seem to care and offered no condolences for my sister, who died 6 days later from COVID-19. I, later, called the Selma store to file a complaint and was advised that the uncaring employee that spoke to me was the owner. To this day; I have not received any form of apology from the owner! At this time, I am and recommended others to boycott Nelson ACE Hardware. Shopping with them will not be a "big deal" with me, as they don't care about me or any of their other customer's safety! read more

Just left Ace Hardware in Kingsburg CA very upset. I went in to do a return and was told they wouldn't do it. The assistant manager John was called to give approval and checked the box to make sure everything was in it. He then told my husband and I that because it had a few scuff marks he couldn't return it. After asking a few questions he became combative and condescending saying "Do you work in retail" implying we have no common sense about how returns are done. We left with the impression given by the assistant manager John, that if your your a person of color go to the Ace Hardware in Selma. We immediately went to that location and returned the item with absolutely no problem. Buyers beware you will be meet with a smile until you have to do a return. read more

I LOVE this place! You walk in and are immediately greeted and asked if you need help, and I always do. The staff are very friendly, professional, make great recommendations... Perhaps a wee bit more than Home Depot, but the service you receive far outweighs the savings... Take advantage of the concierge services! Thank you! read more
