I am handicapped; I have neuropathy pain in my feet and the severity comes and goes. I can hardly walk today I'm in so much pain. I pulled up in front of the sliding metal doors to the nursery to ask the guy sitting right at the door if they had Clematis vines. I was parked 6' away from him with my hazard lights blinking. I smiled and said hi and I asked him through my car window if they had Clematis vines. He was cold and unfriendly and works in the garden department but he didn't know what Clematis was and instead of opening his phone and looking it up, he said "what's that?" I explained and then he pulled out his phone and he asked me to spell it for him and I did, and then he showed me a picture and he said "is this it?" and I said "yes" Then he said "okay, it says we have one". I said "I need three, so all you have is one?" "No, (he said impatiently) no, it says we have 10." I said "okay, thank you, but you said you had one". Then I said "I need three, and I'm handicapped and there are no handicapped carts on this side of store. So will you please walk in and get three for me, and you put them in my car for me?" He said "No I can't. I can't leave my post here." I said "okay I understand, will you please call customer service and ask them if they can send someone to come and help me?" He said "No, I can't do that." I asked an older couple walking into that door if they would look to see where they are for me, and they couldn't find them. When they asked him where they were, he pointed to a stand with pack of seeds in it. They told him I wanted the plants. He said "well all we have seeds." OH MY GOD, ALL OF THAT FOR NOTHING!

We were called names and laughed at and my friend was told to take her merchandise and be nothing but a memory, she was called a bad wife, I was called childish for waiting at the counter to speak to someone, but my friend received the worst of his mouth. I used to love shopping there but will never again due to the manner in which we were spoken too. We have contacted the BBB that's how bad we were treated.

Awful store. Spooky has been a seasonal Halloween store in Hanford before. It was once opened near…read morethe old Walmart and again in the vacated Hollywood Video location. They now take up a spot in the Hanford Mall. It's never been a great store and definitely no competition to Spirit, but they have in the past offered a few items not found elsewhere. I went this year to check it out and their selection is pretty lousy. Their inventory is pretty much just discontinued Tekky Toys items and dated costumes (is anyone really in the market for a Napoleon Dynamite or Borat costume these days?) Their poor selection is not even the worst part. NONE of their items work. All of their props' "Try Me" buttons have been deactivated because they have removed the batteries from all their items. So even if you were interested in an item, you couldn't even try it out. But batteries being removed is not the only reason. They have several signs posted throughout the store saying, "Do Not Play With Merchandise". If you so much as touch an item, you will be scolded by the staff saying not to play with it. I saw a young boy touch a plastic axe, and an employee immediately went up to him and said, "You can't play with that!" I also pulled a box down from a shelf to get a better look at the prop and an employee was eyeing me the whole time. I felt incredibly uncomfortable in that store. I tried to support the local guys, but I'll be now only shopping at Spirit for my Halloween needs.

At the entrance to the store there is a posted list and it says No Strollers Allowed! Really?? How many people with kids shop the mall with out a stroller?? Since we had our stroller, we weren't going to enter, but one of the employees saw us hesitating and waved us in, saying it was ok, that rule only applied when it was really busy. There were only two other people shopping at the same time as us,and as soon as we started browsing, the employees started roaming! My husband was at first shocked, then a bit embarrassed by this! He just told her I'm sorry, but I'm not spending that much money on an item unless I know that it works!
