Terrible experience at this Home Depot. I would not recommend this location to anyone. An older white male employee was extremely rude and acted in a racist, disrespectful way toward me for absolutely no reason. My friend and I were simply picking up an online order that was already paid for, and he treated my friend like they was trying to steal. No customer should ever be made to feel targeted or uncomfortable. This store needs serious training and accountability. I won't be returning. read more

Customer service is severely lacking. Called them asking about the dimensions of a product and immediately responded "yeah, they don't tell us that." Best Home Depot ever !!!! We came here from Cary because they were less than helpful at the Cary Home Depot. We were looking for a gas grill (in a box). The sales clerks went out of their way to look in their inventory for us !! (And we weren't even wearing masks) . We finally decided on one but it was already assembled and we weren't sure it would fit into our car. The sales guy from grills went and got a screwdriver while my husband went to get the car. There was another person working outside who was helping to load items. Between the 3 of them they were able to disassemble the grill enough to fit into our car. Such great service !!! My in store experience was good. We bought a set of washer a dryers during the Black Friday sale. That went smooth and our store representative was very knowledgeable. Well today was the delivery day. They said it was going to be delivered between 5p-9p. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!! We had a holiday party, that my husband missed out on because he was home waiting for the delivery. We also have a toddler so we had to remove our baby gates and now we'll have to put them back up until we get a new date and time set. And their customer service closed at 9 so we weren't able to get ahold of anyone about what happened! NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THE DELIVERY SERVICE. I should have checked the Yelp reviews before I purchased a new gas stove at this Home Depot! I opted to get the professional installation and was told that the appliances would be delivered in about a week and then the installers from an independent local company would come out and do the job a few days later. Fine. The day after the purchase Home Depot called to say that the installer would need to "inspect" the gas set up before they could install the stove and that it would be 3 WEEKS!!! before they could come and inspect??? If they had told me that at the time of the purchase it is unlikely that I would have even purchased the stove from them...... Bad and deceptive business practices with no offer of a solution of any kind from Home Depot. SUCKS!!! read more

I am just having no luck with Home Depot these days. This was my first visit to the Garner store. There is a store much closer to my home on Capital Blvd., but my experiences at that store have been dismal to mediocre at best. Additionally, the Garner store was listed as having one of the products I was looking for in stock and no other nearby stores were listed as having the product in stock and for whatever reason HD said the item wasn't available for shipping despite that it was the day before - odd. Since I was going to have to make a long drive to the Garner Store from N. Raleigh I decided to go ahead and order some other items so that I could make the trip more productive - it's about a 25 minute drive for me. I made the order on a Saturday evening and received an email and text conformation that my order was ready for pickup that same evening. I didn't get around to driving to Garner until Sunday afternoon. When I arrived at the store, I decide to shop a bit and look for an item that I was notified wasn't at the store when I had tried to order online the night before. As it turns out, the store actually had 3 of the item on their shelf (so much for accurate inventory data). When I went to the service desk to pickup my online order, I discovered that 3 of the items in my order were missing. A gentleman from HD depot was sent to retrieve the missing items, 20 minutes later I asked that he be paged wondering why it was taking him so long. Finally 10 minutes after he was paged he showed up - I actually wondered if he had gone on break in the interim (why would it take almost 30 minutes to find 3 products (they were all located in the same isle). At last, I finally was able to get my entire online order after 30 minutes of waiting :-(. I have to ask - why order online if you're going to have to wait anyway? I could have found the items quicker myself even though I had never shopped at this particular store (read the isle signs). To make my Garner HD shopping experience worse, one of the items I order was a 4.5 gallon container of sheet rock joint compound that was heavy as heck I discovered as I attempted to lift it from my cart into my car. Now I am a 130 lb handicapped, older female and while I try and not let that stop me, it this instance it would have been nice to get some help from the 2 gentlemen from HD that walked by me while I was trying to load the darn thing into my car. I was parked in handicapped parking and I am pretty sure it was pretty apparent that I was having a lot of difficulty lifting the item . I guess I could have asked them for help, but since I wasn't pretty or young enough I guess they felt why bother with the old lady. I can't say anyone was rude, they just weren't terribly competent - almost as if in a haze. Maybe they were tired and wanted to go home. However, I think that I am about to give up on Home Depot altogether, their customer service has really slipped in the past couple of years in my opinion. When I presented my NC Drivers License with Veteran status and my military issued military ID -I was really disappointed to be told that your store no longer offers military discounts, except for 4 major holidays. The cashier even confirmed this with another cashier who stated the same information. I was so caught off guard that I just left my items on the counter and headed to Lowe's - where they honor a 10% military discount everyday! You dont even need to present your card , they make it easy and set up a veterans identifier for you in their system. Please take your business to a brand that supports the US Military. read more

I never really patronized Home Depot before and now I know why and will never again to have an Installation done. I went to the Garner location to purchase an exterior front door. I wanted a slab door but the Associate (Steve) strongly suggested that I get a pre-hung door to make sure that the installation would fit the open properly due to any structural settling. Steve told me that I had to special order the door because of the size and hardware. He asked if I wanted a peep hole and what color hinges. I told him Brass hinges. He again said that they only had Chrome and that the door would be specially made at the manufacturer. We picked out my door handles, peep hole and deadbolt lock all in Brass. It took several months to be contacted about the installation. RFI Installations was the contractor. They sent an lone employee named Ron to do the installation. He had to remove the preexisting door, trim, brick molding, frame work, storm door, threshold and plastic kick plate to cover the wood under the door to protect the wood and to keep me from having to paint. I had just had new siding put on the home and new trim so I know what it looked like and that it wasn't damaged. Ron didn't plum, shim, square the door and the trim was damaged. The brick mold wasn't installed properly. The J Channel wasn't secured and popped up and off. I had both pieces lying on my livingroom floor. He threw away the protective cover that wood. The door looked off-set and from the inside and especially the out and on top of that, the hinges that I was told would be Brass, were Chrome! I called HD and they immediately gave me pushbacks and literally blamed me and accused me of being unable to be satisfied. They finally had RFI to return but they sent a supervisor naked Paul. He claimed to be the owner. He came and looked at the door. I showed him my obvious concern. He glued the J Channels back but didn't add any screws that were needed. He said my storm door was inferior to Anderson product and he didn't like the Pella brand that I have. He said that the door was hinges were damaged and needed to be replace. The door was fine before the install. He switched the door handle to the right direction but gave an false summation of his findings. He didn't share that the door was crooked, the trim was damaged and the hinges were Chrome instead of Brass. I called several times speaking with different people and all were dismissive. I filed a complaint with Corporate. I took pictures and gave documentation of emails and text conversations. The agent in charge claimed to tell the District Manager Brian but he wouldn't come to my home. He kept making excuses. It wasn't until I asked if I needed an attorney that they wanted to talk. I escalated to the President's Office and finally got Agent Porchia L. The case was closed but she reopened it and went through all of the pictures, notes and pictures and saw that I wasn't lying as they suggested. By now it is Winter. There were leaks around both the storm door and front door. There was condensation running down the door, the interior door was cold to the touch even though it is an insulated door. The large gaps allowed freezing air to come in. I have Lupus, Rheumatoid and a severe Spinal injury that can often cause me to be bed ridden or fall. I had to duct tape the storm door from the inside and out, place a large towel at the base of the door where the larges gap was and then duct tape the inside of the door to stop the leaking. My utilities increased because I couldn't heat my home. I became extremely sick. Porchia L constantly checked with me and the store to see when they were bringing in the new door. She sent me e-cards to purchase portable heaters. My infection lasted from December until February. I even left my home to stay at a hotel because Duke did a rolling power blackout on Christmas Eve. They brought out another pre-hung door in February. This time they sent two installers. One was the lead but very rude and hostile. He repeatedly said that my job was one of the last that RFI was doing from HD because, "they didn't know anything about installation and needed to stick with just selling appliances." Brian finally came last week with a Senior Supervisor from RFI. He had a level and admitted the frame was off but said the door was squared. He offered fix the hinges but after, the job is closed. read more

To top it all off they didn't even process the refund correctly. 5/27 is when they tried for the 3rd time to come out and deliver them. Both were damaged the 3rd time severely. The claim they filed was rejected by Maytag due to falsifications. When I called a couple weeks later on a Monday, they said it had just been re-filed that day then it was up to Maytag to process the claim. After another week we called Maytag and made them review it and put in the approval. I was transferred to Home Depot again for them to say Maytag didn't do it yet, which wasn't true. It took pulling teeth and 2 hours on hold to speak to a supervisor that said it would be processed in another 3-5 days. The last day comes by, nothing. A couple of days later we get an email saying $900 was being returned. The set was $1800. Turns out, which they admitted, they only processed the washers refund by mistake and it would be another 3-5 days to get the other half back. Our original delivery date was 5/17. We finally had our money back 6/17. Honestly it's absurd that they never made it off the truck but Home Depot couldn't process our refund until Maytag got it back. Seems like Home Depot as a vendor should be responsible to return the money immediately as it was their warehouse and delivery members that ruined 3 appliances. I visited Home Depot in Garner today to buy an item that was only in stock there in my area. We are in the second day of a statewide mandate to wear masks in public, with businesses required to require masks on their customers. I witnessed about a third of customers without masks. There was nobody at the door checking people when they came in. People without masks were being waited on. I asked the cashier and she said there's nothing she could do. We are in the middle of a pandemic, setting records for COVID-19 cases. Home Depot should do their part to help curb the spread of this horrible disease. Your lack of action on this issue shows that you care nothing about your customers or your community. I will not return to this store. Ever. read more

Let me start by acknowledging the employees at the actual store in Garner have been nothing but kind and understanding. It's the appliance delivery operations folks with whom I take offense. 6 months ago I ordered a washer and dryer from this store with the guarantee it would be delivered within the week. The day before the delivery I did not receive a phone call with a time slot. After several phone call transfers on morning they were slated to arrive, I was promised that the appliances WERE on the truck and would be arriving that day although they could not tell me when... no one ever showed up. Again, after near 3 hours on the phone I was told my appliances were never put on the truck and it'd be another week before the washer and dryer arrived. Upon my complaint, customer services representatives said they would provide some compensation for my inconvenience but only after I signed for the washer and dryer. Unable to wait any longer, I chose to cancel my order without compensation and pick-up a unit from a local vendor that offered same day delivery. Assuming this was a one-time fluke, a few weeks ago I ordered a refrigerator to replace mine that had totally broken. I chose the model because it had the quickest delivery time (9 days). After over a week of eating out and accepting the loss of spoiled groceries, my fridge final arrived! I was the only one home at the time and when the delivery specialists pulled out my current, broken fridge they claimed they couldn't find the water valve to shut off water to the appliance. I asked if they could give me some time to call my husband or a plumber but they refused. They suggested that they leave the new fridge in my living room and that as soon as I had a valve installed, they'd return to make the swap. They said leaving the new fridge would expedite their return. As soon as they left, my husband returned home and showed me where the water valve was- easily accessible in laundry room below. Upon a quick Google search, that's a standard location. I'm not sure how installation experts wouldn't think to trace the water line there. (Frankly, I'm disappointed I didn't figure that out myself... but then again, I'm not an refrigerator installation expert.) Anyway, I immediately began calling to get the new fridge installed and the old one carted away. I spent about 2 hours on the phone that morning that resulted in speaking to upwards of 10 customer service associates and the soonest they said they could send someone back would be 5 days later. Frustrated and tired of restaurant food, again I chose to cancel my order. I hopped online and found a similar model that could come in 3 days and was $100 cheaper. Although it might be similarly convenient to just wait the extra two days for the Home Depot specialists, I really just don't want to give them my business anymore. I stopped by the Garner store (after all this nonsense) to ask how reimbursement would work. They couldn't give me much in the way of answers but suggested I come back in 6 days after the fridge is returned to the warehouse. I understand those folks were not to blame for this problem so I asked if there was someone who was more directly involved with delivery that I could alert of this consistent issue. They could only give me the 1-800-homedepot number. I've already called several times (during my two delivery debacles) and it feels like screaming in a void. I just got passed around until eventually my call was dropped in transfer. No help at all. I'm very disappointed. They will not get my business again and I would never recommend to a friend. read more

AWFUL Experience. No wonder they have such low ratings at this location. We ordered a washer and dryer and were told it would be delivered in one week (a Tuesday). They were inflexible with delivery time so I took off Tuesday because we desperately needed the units by then. They cancelled on me last minute and moved the delivery to wednesday. I told them it would have to be before 1pm. If they are a day later than promised, wouldn't you think we would be one of the first deliveries the following day? They tell me it must be between 1:30-5:30, no exceptions or I have to wait ANOTHER WEEK. I escalated to a supervisor and no one was any help at all. I called Lowe's and they offer next day delivery and were much kinder. We will be returning the appliances to Home Depot for being so incredible inflexible and impossible to work with and taking our business to their competitor. read more

Ordered a $9.88 slow cooker and the website said this Home Depot only had one left in stock....so I assumed it was either a display model or just plain lost. I placed the order anyway, I figured at worst they'd just cancel my order. To my surprise, when I arrived, they had my slow cooker tucked away behind the pickup desk and it was in perfect condition (box didn't have dents and it didn't look like it was open!) DO NOT BOTHER. Drive a little further for a different Home Depot. Walked in Saturday night needing some galvanized pipes cut - not a soul in the store who can use the machine. They promised me there would be someone there on Sunday. Sunday I wait for an hour for them to find someone (who supposedly) can use the machine. This kid had NO idea how to cut pipes. He also could not contain his disdain for having to help me. He ruined one pipe and 25 min later still hadn't successfully threaded my pipe. He walked away "to look for someone to help" and never came back. I left after 90 minutes and have to go somewhere else to have the pipe cut and threaded. MISERABLE EXPERIENCE. read more

I wondered around this store for a solid 45 minutes trying to find a certain pipe coupling. I walked by probably every employee in the store. They all just put their heads down and ignored me. I finally went to a person at a register and asked for help. She paged someone. About 5 minutes later a grumpy older man showed up acting irritated because he was called over there. I just told him never mind and left. What a waste of time. Won't do that again, that's for sure. read more

I have had the worst experience ever in trying to have a sliding patio door done. First it took 3 visits on different days to find someone to help me in the door department. After finally getting help and having measurements done I had to call the store to see if measurements were received so I could go to pick out a door after 3 failed visits to get help i resorted to calling the store to talk to manager to give me a time and day i could come to pick out a door 2 weeks after measurements were done. The man had no idea what he was doing and couldn't figure out how to work the computer to pull up the measurements to find what doors were available to me. It took 2 hours to find what he stated was a stock door. Now i have to wait for installer to set appointment. We'll look and behold i get an email from THE STORE TELLING ME I had until 5/31 basically 2 eels to pick up my door. I called the store to be told it was not entered as an install and they would get it to the installers to call and schedule a time with me. After a week i get a call from installer saying they had a cancellation the next day and they could get me in. I jumped at opportunity to have this finally done and took the day off from my job. The installer arrives around noon and realizes the door is wrong size and should have been a custom size NOT a stock door. Now i have lost a days pay and time to get a custom door picked out and ordered. When i return to the store to complain the store manager offers no apology but just has me go back with the same incompetent man that ordered the wrong door after 2 hours. Now he miraculously has a door already picked for me and offers me no other door options. I felt overwhelmed and just said yes to it and did not realize it was 3 times more expensive then my original order. I'd give 5 stars, but my criticism is with Home Depot Credit. Avoid signing up for that. I spend a good amount there and paid my credit bills promptly. I missed one when my outstanding balance was $22 (my fault) and promptly received a penalty of an additional $29. No warning. Use your regular credit card and avoid Home Depot's. read more

I can't express how disappointed I am with the service Home Depot provides, especially their delivery department. I was a very loyal customer until not one but two different occasions made me officially lose my loyalty to this company. First incident happened when we ordered a washer and dryer from Home Depot. Not only did they deliver the washer damaged, they brought back both (the washer and dryer) and then only delivered the washer two weeks later without the dryer, so we had to wait another week for that to be deliveried. For the inconvenience, they gave us a $100 gift card so I though I would give them a second chance...well that was a mistake. This current Labor Day we wanted to take advantage of the appliance sale, so I bought a fridge and stove to be delivered. Well, I thought from my last experience that I should call about our delivery time cause Home Depot apparently has a 12 hour window they give you as a delivery time for drop off i.e. 7am - 7pm. Good thing I called the day they were suppose to be deliveried because that's when they decided to tell me that the refrigerator was on back order so they canceled my entire order, WITHOUT notifying me in anyway. So, not only did I not get my appliances that day, I only found out about the cancelled order because I called about our delivery time. Then when we decided that ordering directly at the store would clear some confusion, we find out the refrigerator was discontinued all together and they couldn't honor the Labor Day prices because the holiday was over. Save yourself the hassle and just go to Lowes! I would hate for someone else to experience what we did. read more
