I love Home Depot, or The Board Store, as it's called in my family. I just bought my first home and need to repaint a few of the walls. The two employees at the paint counter were very nice and knowledgeable and helped to make sure I got the correct type of paint for my project. This has been a standard for my experience at various Home Depot's across the country and it always leaves me feeling like I have the ability to tackle any DIY project I can think of. Oops oops! This store is a Mecca of a disgusting, dirty and unorganized store. It looks like a Home Depot but it's a mess of a store. The parking lot is where it all starts. Dirty, disgusting, trash littered everywhere, a parking lot that is more of an obstacle course. Where is shopping cart guy, so that he can clear up this gridlock? The entrance of the store is littered with garbage and dust. The employees are deaf, dumb and blind. Help? Good luck you have a better chance of robbing the store because no one is watching. The customers... most smell like skunks( what are they smoking) and the others are wearing cowboy Boots. The store stock is impossible to find items that are suppose to be there. Do not go there! I have never had such a horrible experience. I ordered a washer / dryer Jul13. And it still hasn't arrived. The list of excuses once received we don't have access to the third party who schedules, etc. i was told they were scheduled for sept 3rd earlier in the week, then I was told they rescheduled for sept 7th without my knowledge. Then I leave my House and see we stopped by and you weren't here. I got a missed call once and I tried to call back no answer. This again after I was told they wouldn't come on Saturday. This is nearly 2 months after ordered. And no one seems to know what their doing. I would like a Significant refund as well as my washed and dryer installed. Worse experience of my life. This Home Depot is an absolute atrocity and hovel of a store. There is trash strewn about throughout all the Isles open boxes and completely empty shelving units. This is always been a disgusting store for years and drive out of my way to go to Taylor or Dearborn Heights. But at this point it's the whole reason to go to Menards. They're always out of everything most of the time because stuff is getting stolen. And none of the employees want to help they all walk around with an attitude and when asked about stuff that was on the website that shows an in-stock item they just say we haven't been updating the website do to. But in reality the items aren't there because they were stolen or misplaced I'm sure how can you find anything in this place when they literally have dead Christmas trees laying in the aisles. I would understand if this was maybe a mom and pop shop and you just chose not to shop local but this is a freaking big box chain where everything is supposed to be unilaterally the same across the board. If it was a franchise the franchisee would have had it revoked. The fact of mismanagement and negligence on Home Depot corporate with the store over multiple years is just Flatout bordering on disgusting. I won't continue to go far out of my way to not show up here and give my money to Lowe's or Menards. So the point I will try to stay away from Home Depot even in other locations now. And given the current climate nowadays don't try and blame it on the people that shop there or the location to the city. Regular old box store. Usually a little bit friendlier and better-populated by human beings than your average Home Depot. Low rating: They screwed up a delivery, with one item arriving damaged and one item not arriving at all, and claimed they would give me some free stuff to make it right. When I went in to follow up, they told me I'd have to come back when so-and-so was in, because she wasn't in. It's like, get it together, people? I probably have to dispute it with my credit card? I WENT TO THE BATHROOM AT THIS LOCATION AND THERE WAS HUMAN FECES SMEARED ALL OVER THE FLOOR. It got all over my shoes and pretty much EVERYWHERE. I can not believe how disgusting this experience was. When I asked to speak to a manager I was made to wait until it was convenient for him. The managers name was GERALD MARSHALL and I honestly have never experienced worse customer service in my life !!! He dismissed the entire event and acted as if it was my fault the incident happened. He even went as far as to tell me that "IT WAS GOOD THAT THE EVENT ONLY HAPPENED TO ME BECAUSE NOW IT CANNOT HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE". I REALLY like Home Depot, but just not this one. This isn't the first time something like this has happened to me at this particular location, but it's the final straw leading to a poor review. I stopped in during my short lunch break to purchase a power tool. This specific Home Depot must be subject to theft, because the power tool area is covered with an insane amount of security cameras, and some type of proximity alarm. Cool, protect your stuff, that's fine, but on top of that, the ONE item I came to purchase was randomly security locked to the alarm system. It was the last item in stock, but nothing else from that manufacturer was locked down. I tried to find an employee to help me, but there were none to be seen within a reasonable number of aisles that I was willing to walk. Plus, why didn't the proximity alarm summon anyone? Fine, I got it on Amazon for nine bucks cheaper, and I'll have it tomorrow instead of today. Like I said, last straw with this location. read more

Ugh, My kitchen's hot water pipe froze!!! OMG what to do???? Well, I got my hair dryer out and started it up under the kitchen sink. Six hours and my shoulders and back killing me, it was uneventful. So, I say to myself what would a handy person do??? Go to Home Depot and see if they have something stronger for me to use!!! So, with all this white stuff outside and being below 0 degrees, I put on layers of clothing, my winter cold with a hood, a hat, gloves, boots, etc... and trek out to my garage (thank God I have a garage) and start up my car to go to Home Depot. Roads are treacherous and people just don't know how to drive in this white stuff because our winters have not been harsh for the past few years. Finally, I get to Home Depot. Go in and go to the plumbing section. Don't see anyone around to help me. So, I go on the lookout to find a Home Depot employee. I see one sitting down texting on his cell phone. Gee, let me get him busy!!! So, I tell him my problem and ask him if they have some sort of heating element to unfreeze my pipes!!!! He tells me aisle five in the paint department there is a heat tool that I could use. I say thanks and go in search of aisle five. Success - I find it. They have two different ones: one for $35 and the other for $20. I decide to go with the cheaper one because it is not for industry but for my home. Get back into the car and drive in the wintry mix of snow all over and it being below 0 degrees. Brrrrrrrrrrr............. Get home and take out my new tool!!!! Plug it in and easy enough to use. I put it up to my hot water pipe under my sink for about 1/2 hour. Gee, my shoulders and back are really hurting. So, I decide to take a break. I turn on the water even more with to no avail. As I am standing there drinking a cup of coffee - all of a sudden the faucet starts to drip. I am ecstatic, but tired. Then it starts to drizzle out and I am so happy I could jump rope! And then, OMG I am so ecstatic it starts to pour water out of the sink! OMG, I did all myself with no help from anyone else. Home Depot thanks for having that heating tool readily available and I am sure that if more people knew about this they would have visited you on the most coldest day of the year!!! read more

Nobody cares about the customer time.....I went in to get two blinds something quick easy, and I needed 1 cut to size and no one shows up, even after requesting assistance from an employee to call someone. I usually don't come to this location because the employees haven't been too helpful or friendly. Today's experience, however, changed all that for me. Everyone was so friendly across all departments. Maybe it was because I was there bright and early and the store was less busy or they have a new team. Nonetheless, it was refreshing! Ordered $3600 of equipment online from Home Depot. They supposedly shipped it with NSD trucking. Received a text that it was delivered, it was not. Called both Home Depot and NSD trucking about 45 times in a 2 week period because Home Depot said it was shipped and NSD said it was delivered. Both companies were blaming each other. After 2 weeks NSD finally admitted that they "lost" the shipment and it never really was delivered. Evelyn Hernandez Gonzales at Home Depot Corporate kept insisting I couldn't get a refund until they verified that the shipment was lost. After 3 weeks and countless other phone calls, emails, texts, chats with Home Depot I finally got my refund after they found the shipment sitting on the dock at NSD and I refused it because I had to go elsewhere to buy the items they lost. Basically, they were calling me a liar for 3 weeks. I have been a customer of HD for over 25 years. After this, I will not even step foot in their stores to buy a screw! NSD trucking is a scam company. Do yourself a favor and don't buy online from Home Depot because they apparently have a contract with NSD and you will never get your stuff. read more

Very helpful staff! I went in looking for a small fan for my hotel room and found someone right away who showed me to the right isle. All the desktop fans had been put away for the season, but I found another very helpful employee who found a ladder and got one down for me. Store was pretty crowded on a Sunday evening, but I only had to wait a few minutes for an open self-checkout. As others have noted, the place was pretty cluttered/unorganized but I suppose that's the way many of these larger, urban HDs look. Bottom line is they had what I needed and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Works for me! read more

Horrible customer service, the employee was disgustingly rude. Once i put out all of my stuff onto the counter for her to scan, she pushed them all in another direction and sent all my stuff flying on to the floor and she didn't apologize or even care to acknowledge what she did, instead she rolled her eyes! Then when i was reaching out to grab my card from her, she threw it on to the table from a foot in the air instead of handing it to me. She never even said hello or asked if i needed anything, all she would do was rudely throw my purchases onto the counter and slam the keyboard. Never going back, horrific customer service.
