I have been dealing with Dukes Hardware for 42 years . My first dealings was when I needed a water heater . We had just moved in and the next day my water heater burst . Being new to the area ,I went to the nearest place I could think of . The owner , Richard Duke , sold me a water heater that was on the sales floor . The price was great , but most of all that water heater lasted me over 18 years . The hardware is now run by Sons Kevin and Brent ,and maybe other family members that I don't know well . True , they don't have some of the things that the big guys have . I,m always satisfied when I visit Dukes . PS If you need an off the wall item , Dukes will likely have it . read more

Best little hardware store around. Hard to find item? They probably have it. Plumbing, tools, tape, twist pins, and every sort of spring or fastener. They'll even cut your keys! They always keep you prepared in harsh winter with their fast grab windshield wiper solvent, ice melts, and shovels. Easy in and out, no walking around forever trying to find something like in those big box stores. This place is an American treasure! read more

My Dad always said, "If Dukes doesn't have it, you'll never find it!" My family has been going here for decades. Went today w my dad for a plumbing part. Of course they had that, but here's the awesome part... I remembered I needed an ancient latch assembly for my old Dearborn Bungalow and I LITERALLY said and did a weird thing with my hands. "I need a Doodletoot part for this thing that the other doodletoot goes into on my laundry chute." She said "oh yeah, I have those, disappeared in back and returned with my part aka "doodletoot". I love having the chance to support the local shop that's been in biz for decades when I can. I thought they had closed for good during Covid but am thankful I was wrong! I have passed this place for years and never stopped in. Last week this hardware store was recommended for a part I may need for my kitchen sink. They indeed had it which Home Depot and Menards DID NOT!!! It is a family owned business and the staff is very friendly, I will definitely be a returning customer read more

So I ordered new sinks for my salon once I tried to connect the water lines I noticed that the plumbing was Chinese and I needed to convert it to American plumbing .After going to 2 stores Dukes was able to find a solution within minutes. I was in and out in five minutes the customer service was great . I would recommend stopping here before going anywhere else ! read more

I'm doing some electrical work and some duct work in preparation for a new purchase . Dukes had everything I needed ,and I only had to travel 5 blocks. I must admit ,I went to Home Depot , Menards and lowes just to see if they had the needed supplies. Each one had some of what I needed but not everything,the prices on what I needed was not that great either . Thank to Kevin, Brian and staff , I was able to complete my projects . Oh Yeah ,They even gave me 10% off ,for being an old fart. LOL These kids are doing the Duke name proud. P.S. Show me where you can buy loose unboxed nails by the pound. Duke's is awesome. Best hardware store in the Telegraph/Ford Rd area. The kind of place where you walk in with a problem and they help you solve it. They will answer any question. The service there is top notch. Don't support those big chains where they don't care about you. Spend a few extra dollars and support local hardware stores like Duke's. I once broke a kitchen sink fawcet I was trying to install myself (I'm not really a DIY guy, to put it mildly). It was pretty obvious I broke it and they guy at Dukes took it back and gave me a free one. I've been supporting them ever since. Excellent screen repair. Great selection of paint and other supplies. I love Dukes... I have been going there for odd jobs, and when i write 'odd' i mean things that other hardware stores cannot solve. These guys know their stuff, and can work with you to solve issues in your quirky home. They are the best. Now I live in the same neighbourhood with them so I'm very happy :) read more

Can't say enough good things about this store. They are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Most recently, I went with a cartridge & I was unable to determine the brand of faucet. I went to three different stores trying to get help. I went to Duke's and it was less than a minute for him to figure it out and give me the exact part. Amazing! read more

I have been going to Dukes for about 38 years. This is one of the best, if not the best hardware stores in and around metro Detroit. It is not the biggest, but they seem to have everything. You can buy a single washer or nail or the packages that are available. They also have screen and window repair. All the employees are always helpful and check out Lynn, she is beautiful!! The advantages of Duke's are a big selection of specialty repair items and knowledge. Dukes also has a floorspace that is packed with items and not signage attempting marketing to you every 10 ft. Its helpful to not have to hike a mile through a big store to get a handful of things I need for a quick weekend project It's a 'down to business' atmosphere. The ask you what you need and get what you asked for or offer alternatives they think might be better, which is appreciated. The special appeal to me is that I own a 60 year old Dearborn house and Duke's carries items that are based on older standards of that time like registers, fittings, etc. . read more

Duke's Hardware is an institution in the Dearborn and Dearborn Heights area. They have been there forever and I hope they remain forever. The most knowledgeable hardware people I have found. My dad always went to Duke's and I do too. I remember going there with him as a kid. They will always have what you need and also advise you how to do what you need to do to get the job done right.
