They have hard to find items for the neighborhood they reside in which is great for me. They usually have what I need. They are busy so be patient if you have questions but it's always worth it. I've been going to them for around 20 years. Selection of items for older fixtures is epic. The lawn and leaf bags usually have the best prices for the quality of bag so the value is worth the price. Rude and extremely unprofessional. My mower died the day my wife and I moved into our new home in Dearborn. We ran up to "Studz" because they sell reconditioned/ lawnmowers. We found one within our budget, and brought it home to our disappointed son. As I watched on, my son cut the front lawn without an issue. We then went into the backyard. After 3 pulls he got the mower to start. It immediately began blowing smoke. Think more smoke grenade; less lit cigarette. My son shut the mower down to let it cool off. After that, it wouldn't start back up. I checked the oil, and it didn't appear to have any in it. We'll get to that in a minute. I took the mower back up to "Studz" the following morning. I was greeted by an elderly woman and a young lady. Both were the only two decent people in the place. They took my mower into the, we'll, somewhere, and let me stand there for 20 minutes twiddling my thumbs. Oh, and I had the pleasure of listen to some blonde woman audibly complaining about a previous customer encounter ad nauseum. Also several other employees yelling to one another throughout the store, and some bickering amongst each other as well. After the entertainment portion of my wait, some guy strolls up to the front of the store from outside with my mower running. Apparently I was supposed to bow down and praise him for his lawnmower repair prowess. In a nutshell, he basically told me that I was lying, or full of it. He kept using phrases like, "my claim," the claims I am making," etc.... The guy was just rude and absolutely unprofessional. I was excited to learn there was a local hardware store that I could take my business to. Now it's just another store I'll drive past to get to the big box stores. I'll never spend a cent in that type of environment where I'm treated as some bum looking to scam them, or however/whatever the heavy set middle aged "lawnmower god" thought I was up to. I ended my lovely encounter by explaining to Mr. Lawnmower Repair god that it's unprofessional to be so hostile to their customers. Whatever the case, don't spend your money here. Absolutely the best place to buy mini bike / kart parts. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help. They've returned messages to me via Facebook WAY past normal business hours. They've also gone through my order just to make sure it makes sense and have many times gotten in touch with me before sending my stuff out just to verify I was ordering what I needed and if they felt something may not be right they point it out and will spend as much time as I've needed going over my order making sure I was getting what I needed to accomplish my goal. It is always my go to for my small engine needs. If there was any problem with my order they've bent over backwards to take care of it as quickly aa possible. I took my go kart tire here to get fixed. I had a few questions because I was installing the tire myself. Every question I had seemed to completely irritate the guy in the back. The customer service was horriable and I will never go back because of it. The I went up to pay for the tire and bearings I bought and the blonde lady up front had a horriable additude. Got there at 11:20 walked in no one asked can I help you ask the lady behind the counter some guy I guess his name is sales name is SS asked him if they had tires he act like I've been there before he says right behind you like I knew they were there then he didn't bother to assist me on the tires until I stood there for 3 or four minutes then he's two old gentleman were in there and he says they're right behind you. The only customers they get a repeat customers because they're nice to them if you're a new customer, they don't want anything to do with you. I really used to be a fan of studz. The attitude of the employees is now bad and the parking is damn near non existent. When I first started going there, an employee would always ask if they could help you find anything. Studz was expensive but they got you the right part way fast. Since they started selling go karts, the service has gone way down. Now you normally can't flag someone down in the store and you have to ask the cashier to call one. More on the cashiers later. The store is packed to the gills with tripping hazards galore. Good luck to anyone on crutches. Those unfortunate people in wheelchairs will not be able to go inside. The cashiers are way rude. I was the only one standing at the register while the two cashiers ignored me and continued with their conversation so long that it got uncomfortable standing there. The owner is awful. He took my brand new propane tank in for a refill and traded it out for a dented, old, greasy one in his stable of used tanks. Don't EVER patronize this joke of a business, he's a crook! He replaced my brand new tank for a bum one that was no longer legal to refill! So, his henchman went into his shed of shit tanks and gave me one of the used, nasty ones, and took my brand new tank in for its first fill and switched it out for a full, soon to be illegal tank, on his endangered species list. I took my lawn mower in to be checked out because I couldn't get it started. A few days later they call to tell me that the shaft was bent and it would cost $150 to fix. I said no just because I figured that it was time to spring for a new mower at this point. I picked it up and took it home and tinkered with it just as a last ditch effort. I am a huge advocate of buying made in USA and supporting local business so I stopped at Studz after work on a Tuesday afternoon during the slow period to purchase a lawnmower. This was my first visit to Studz and as others have mentioned the parking is almost non existent as I had to park several doors down. I walked in the store and looked over the selection of mowers both indoors and outdoors and not a single employee acknowledged me or offered any assistance so I walked out and will be going to Sears tomorrow to make that purchase. I thought with a smaller local store the level of service would be greater however the service is as scarce as parking spot. read more

I have been here before and never really blown back by awesome customer service, I would say Average. Well this time Unfortunately the service was actually insulting... I took the spindle out of my 2006 Troy-bilt 42" deck because it failed. I took it to Studz thinking they have seen EVERYTHING they should be able to help. Before my trek down there I searched high and low for a model/serial number all the labels are faded and nothing is legible. I asked the gentleman if he could help me, his reply was "Model and Serial Number!" I said there was nothing legible. His reply Can't do anything without that! I said its a 2006 troy-bilt Bronco.... His reply again.... "Model and Serial Number". I the pleaded is there anything we can do? he said NO! less than 2 minutes online when I got home and found out that this is the same part on 95% or 42" decks from 2006-2009 across 5 manufacturers...
