As I said. Real professional group here.
    Rob S.

Rude and extremely unprofessional. My mower died the day my wife and I moved into our new home in Dearborn. We ran up to "Studz" because they sell reconditioned/ lawnmowers. We found one within our budget, and brought it home to our disappointed son. As I watched on, my son cut the front lawn without an issue. We then went into the backyard. After 3 pulls he got the mower to start. It immediately began blowing smoke. Think more smoke grenade; less lit cigarette. My son shut the mower down to let it cool off. After that, it wouldn't start back up. I checked the oil, and it didn't appear to have any in it. We'll get to that in a minute. I took the mower back up to "Studz" the following morning. I was greeted by an elderly woman and a young lady. Both were the only two decent people in the place. They took my mower into the, we'll, somewhere, and let me stand there for 20 minutes twiddling my thumbs. Oh, and I had the pleasure of listen to some blonde woman audibly complaining about a previous customer encounter ad nauseum. Also several other employees yelling to one another throughout the store, and some bickering amongst each other as well. After the entertainment portion of my wait, some guy strolls up to the front of the store from outside with my mower running. Apparently I was supposed to bow down and praise him for his lawnmower repair prowess. In a nutshell, he basically told me that I was lying, or full of it. He kept using phrases like, "my claim," the claims I am making," etc.... The guy was just rude and absolutely unprofessional. I was excited to learn there was a local hardware store that I could take my business to. Now it's just another store I'll drive past to get to the big box stores. I'll never spend a cent in that type of environment where I'm treated as some bum looking to scam them, or however/whatever the heavy set middle aged "lawnmower god" thought I was up to. I ended my lovely encounter by explaining to Mr. Lawnmower Repair god that it's unprofessional to be so hostile to their customers. Whatever the case, don't spend your money here. Take it to a location that wants to help you. Not treat you poorly and unprofessionally. Honestly, judging by the business name alone, I should've known better.

Great hardware store. When the "box stores" don't have what you looking for trying studz's.

Oh MAN!!! This place is cool!!!…read more My husband took me here to look for Christmas gifts for our 3 boys. When we pulled in the lot all I could think of is WHY are we at a hardware store??? But this is no ordinary hardware store. This is also the Michigan hobby shop and hardware store Mecca!! We found the coolest remote control micro drones, remote control cars, planes, trucks, helicopters, trains, and everything else you can imagine. There was a complete aisle of Boy Scout supplies and another for the Girl Scouts. We bought several things for homeschool in those aisles. The train aisle not only has trains and tracks but everything you need for building layouts, gardens and miniatures. They had slot cars GaLORE!! If your are an enthusiast or a collected you really need to check out all the cool slot cars. I was drooling over quite a few. Be sure to look up when you get to the hobby area. The planes are super cool!! Arts and craft items, painting and drawing items, models, puzzles, ships, planes, cars, and trains. It's a young mans heaven here!!!

Mike always has just the fix I need and he goes the extra mile to make sure I'm happy with the service. I mentioned to him that I don't know why I don't stop there first before wasting my time at other places but that's all changed since time is money and as a matter of fact, I save money there too. They always have a sale going on and his prices are highly competitive on items that are not on sale. On my latest visit, I had a 75 year old door lock that wouldn't unlock once you locked it. I thought the skeleton key (yes, skeleton key!) was the wrong type of key but Mike was convinced he could make it work with the key I had. I was very skeptical and sure I knew what I was talking about even willing to buy another type of key to open it. He took the lock in the back, returned a very tense 15 minutes later and voila(!) the lock worked perfected with the key I had. I was impressed that he took the time to get it working without trying to sell me something different instead. Actually, he did offer a better lock but I didn't want to have to change all my locks, so worked with what I had without pressing me otherwise. I highly recommend if you have a difficult hardware issue that you visit this place first and ask for Mike!

I went there to get my sample paint corrected because they completely botched up the color and they would not fix it for me. Story time. Earlier…read morein the year, we made the observation that our aging doors were not sealing as well as they should. We had tried a few simple home solutions, weather stripping and adjustments to the hinges. We had some slight improvement, but it became clear the doors were in need of service. We had received recommendations to contact home depot and request an evaluation. The estimator cost forty dollars. He came out and they've provided us with useful information about our home. He left us feeling pretty good, even went so far as to offer that they could rehang the same size doors in the space, and that it might be of interest to save our trim because it was obviously high quality and expensive. Enter "Luna." Luna is the upsell agent that works inside home depot for the ordering and installation process. She called while we were on the road. We weren't able to have a complete conversation, but what she did impart was that the doors would need to be custom ordered. This created some confusion. Over the series of the next six emails, I asked, why. Each time the answer I got back was "trust me bro." Finally, I stated that the estimator had clearly given us different information and asked for the measurements. The terse reply I received was that the measurements are for in store use only. And would not be shared. Literally "trust me bro." So I'm out $40 for a bogus estimate that I didn't actually receive. I've taken time out of my busy schedule to allow someone into my home with the promise to do work for me. And i've received nothing. I can see why home depot has a two star rating from this location. Fortunately there is a Lowe's nearby. And I can always file for fraud protection on my card. I will also contact the better business bureau and the state of michigan to report that I was denied an estimate in writing for work.
