Not a bad store, but it appears that every time you need help, and you try to flag a CR, the moment they see you, they make a 180 degree, or a 90 degree, turn and disappear. One older lady (I'd withhold her name for now) had quite an attitude when she had to find a metal staircase in order to grab 'Plumbers Putty' from the shelf above. Was shopping at Plumouth store. They didn't have everything that I needed but said EP and Chaska does. Went to grab number 4 of what we needed at Chaska and it was ruffly $300 more. Get a manager involved and told me they can't price match. I go there has to be more than this why does Plumouth sell it for $97 and your store is $379. There has to be a mistake and no one wants to own up to it. Even showed him my receipt for the other 3 we bought. Really piss poor mindset over there. read more

5 Stars for great customer service in the garden section. Gosh, this was one of those moments I wish I'd got the kid's name who helped us pick out some flowers. We were bringing a potted plant to someone who had lost her husband and, knowing very little about plants, were so thankful the guy who was watering the mums reached out to see if he could offer assistance. He did. And we took his advice. And the flowers were perfect-- continuing to bloom the following few days. Also, the gal at the outdoor register was smiley and nice too. I had a great shopping experience at Home Depot Chaska in the garden center, that is until CHECKOUT. My husband and I were ready to check out at one of the self check out areas. Someone said, "She can help you there." So we went to her for check out. Her name was Maddy and it was about 7:15 PM. She rang up the total. She said: "one hundred fifty." I said she must've used the checker gun twice because there's no way it could be "one hundred fifty." She enunciated rudely. "One hundred and fifty." Oh, I said...I wasnt reading the small thing on my left that registers a total because I didn't see it. My total was $100.50 Maddy was about 16 or 17. Never said a WORD to us except to rudely tell us how much the total was and then to enunciate the total when I questioned it. It shouldn't be my problem to have to deal with a moody teenager. Left a really bad taste in my mouth and I know my husband didnt like it either. The lady at the door was nice, and all smiles. Maddy should not be in a job that requires customer service given customer service is the pillar of any business. read more

I went in today to pick up a specific tool that I'd researched online. Unfortunately when I went to the location that the HD website told me it was in, the model I wanted was completely gone. While I was standing there trying to figure out my options, an associate named Brenda approached me, asked if I needed help, then proceeded to track down a couple of models for me in an unusual location - she then volunteered to grab me a bigger pushcart, and got another associate named Jesus to help load it up. She searched for it like she was looking for it herself, and I appreciated it so much! Then Jesus was kind enough to walk out with me and load it into my car. Brenda and Jesus really turned my situation around and helped me get just what I wanted! Their service is what would encourage me to come back to this location! read more

I paid for carpet, removal, and installation. Their subcontractor went to extreme measures to state what they would and wouldn't do while standing on my wet carpet that needed to be replaced. But when all was said and done they refused to take the carpet and pad because it was wet and they didn't state that when standing on it estimating costs and saying it was free to remove. When calling Home Depot the carpet guy said well what are we supposed to do with it. Isn't this your line or work not mine. So I paid someone $300 to take it to the dump since HomeDepot and their subcontractor don't know how to dispose of carpet. What a joke, maybe that's something a guys veterinarian is supposed to know. Maybe the next time I go to the butcher for steak I'll ask for recommendations on crown molding. read more

Pretty awful experience with their window treatments purchase/measure/install service. Went to take advantage of a sale on Bali blinds. Sale started the day before I went in and was supposed to last for 12 or so more days. Found out their measuring was being scheduled for more than two weeks out, and you had to have the measure done and blind selection paid for in order to get the sale prices. So in other words, the sale prices were meaningless. Spoke with the manager who agreed with me and said he'd talked to someone else and try to work out a way that I could use the sale. He suggested I go ahead and get a measurement set up so that they'd be able to show I'd done that early in the sale. I set that up to be scheduled. The sales person also was supposed to check on what the ladder fee was going to be, since my windows were up really high. Both said they'd call me by Monday with answers to those two questions (sale price and ladder fee). It's now the next Sunday and no call about either issue. I did get a call from the people who they sent the measurement request to, and that was done incorrectly as well. They sent my request and info to their Kircher people, who do custom curtains and such, and don't do measurements for Bali shades, so even that wasn't done correctly. read more

Their garden center has the best pricing on quality plants and really helpful associates who "really know plants." The paint department is also very knowledgeable and helpful and have accurately matched the paint colors I needed. A sales rep. (Stewart out of Plymouth, MN) came out to quote us on a window replacement. He quoted us $1500 on a full casement replacement, or $900 on an insert. We said we would talk about it and then proceeded to leave our home and said he would get back to us next day. 3 days later, no word. I texted next day to confirm replacement (as that was his original means of communicating his tardiness to our originial appointment) and asked if he was planning on getting back to us. No reply. We still dont have a fixed window and have had radio silence with Home Depot apparently. Thanks Home Depot for not helping for a second time. The first experience with this company involved the replacement of our water heat in which a technician came to our house and said he would not be able to perform work due to home depot not being able to supply the appropriate water heater for our home. Called a local plumber and the new water heater (Home Depot vendor brand) was installed next day. read more

Yeah...it's a big store and not always easy to find things...but wouldn't you expect that in a very large store with so many products? Sure Menards will be cheaper on many items. Wow! Memorial Day weekend plant shopping! Decent selection and decent prices! Make sure you get some Russian Sage, it smells GREAT and keeps pests away! How's that for a tip?! You might be wondering "hey, why the one star?!". Great question! As we loaded the cart with garden goodies, we went to self checkout to rack up the bill. The manager motions for us to get checked out by their cashier. I'm thinking this is GREAT, I don't have to ring myself up! Bonus! No, MADDY the cashier silently rings everything up and with her scowl says nothing, na da, zip. We ask how much? She says "one hundred-fifty". What? We hand the card and say that seems a little high, we notice it's actually one hundred dollars and 50 cents. No problemo, we pay. Not a WORD from passive aggressive MADDY who we must have really angered in a past life. No thanks, have a nice day, no smile, nothing. Next time, put MADDY in the back room or at home. I feel that the majority of the staff in the various departments of the store come in with a solid background knowledge of what's needed in their area to get the job done in addition to what they sell that can get you there. Since no two jobs are ever the same they are constantly aiding in coming up with ideas and quickly locating parts. Dear Home Depot, In early June we placed an order to receive a sliding glass door for our kitchen. We had just had our windows installed by Home depot in June with several errors( wrong size windows, re-ordered windows, extremely delayed install & repeated follow up by us to get the job moving) but we figured it was an isolated case and they looked good. Anyway we ordered the sliding glass door in early June with a 3-4 weeks estimated install date according to Stewart sales guy. The date changed from July to August 12 then there was issues finding the Door. It wasn't in the warehouse, John job manager would say. Weeks would go by with no updates/plan. Then when they finally got it. The scheduler said ok let's put you down for Late August/Early September. I told the scheduler we need to get this job done as the rest of our home reno was complete a month ago. Finally, after rescheduling the set appointment 2 times the guy Randy ( very nice guy/hard worker) finished the install but the secondary lock wasn't working....the reason we got the door for the 4 young kiddos. Anyway, after calling Randy & John several times to follow up on the repair they finally put in the order. I get a call this week from scheduling saying "The vendors system was down this has never happens....so the part won't be available until September 21st then we can schedule the install the lock". Ultimately I feel that although I appreciate the quality of the home depot products the customer service is severely lacking. Throughout the whole process I've felt forgotten about, felt that I need to manage the job/move things along, and felt that nobody cared. There just has't been any follow through. Swear to God I will never shop at another Home Depot in my life again after what they did tonight. I ordered a cook top for $1300 from THIS STORE a week ago. It does not fit due to confusing measurements. I wanted to return it in exchange for a different model. They refused to take it back!! The reasoning from the store manager was that because this was "custom" they cannot take it back. But custom means it was made to our specific measurements. Nope. Was listed in their catalog and ordered while at store. Complete BS to avoid returns and very short-sighted if this is really the policy. I got the manager to admit they custom really means anything they don't actually sell in the store. Well that means just about any appliance. Would give negative stars if I could. read more

So I guess I don't practice what I preach about Home Depot. I only go there because it's close. Tonight I needed some help in the pneumatic nail gun area so I asked the young lady to page someone for me. Let me add that she was taking a "selfie" when I walked up. Really? You're at work! Well I had to ask her a second time and then some young kid comes dragging himself down the aisle as if I interrupted his night. Well, he knows absolutely nothing about nail guns so he's as useless as the girl at the front. Where the hell is the management at that place? When I was that age, we were expected to approach customers and ask if they needed help. Now these employees are just there killing time. To make things worse, the DeWalt 23 gauge nail gun I bought doesn't work. It won't shoot the nails. So I'm returning it in the morning and I can only imagine what kind of resistance I'll get then too. I think I need to put a note in my car to remind me not to shop there. At one time this was my favorite Home Depot store to go to. Being a contractor I use many different types of big box stores plus private lumberyard for my projects. The Home Depot in Chaska has crates in the middle or pallets in the middle of the isles are not getting put away for over three days. I went in there for shelving three days in a row and the pallet of shelving I needed is still on the floor.There seems to be a disconnect with management at this Home Depot store. read more

I NEVER in a million years thought I would write a review of a hardware store but here goes. PLEASE do not ever give this store any of your time or your money. I had a very simple question that probably ANY sales associate in the entire store could have answered so I called them yesterday. Several times. The first time I was on hold for 16 minutes and no one picked up. I had to run so I figured I would try again later. Tried again 6 hours later and was on hold this time for 8 minutes. Same result. Third time I tried at around 8pm thinking the store would be dead and someone MUST be able to answer the phone. No such luck; same result. I hung up so angry that I will never patronize a Home Depot again for as long as I live. That is 30 minutes of my life GONE FOREVER. 30 minutes of my life I will NEVER get back. Home Depot came into my home to demo and install hard surface floor in my home and also carpet.They came in the first day and stayed an hour before the installers decided to leave because they did not feel confident doing the job. The 2nd crew came day 2. They tried to remove existing floor and could not finish job and also did a lot of damage to my home. Home Depots district manager came out to access the situation and advised me that Home Depot should have never taken on such a difficult job. He also informed me that they have no one that can finish the job. I have been left high and dry. I am living in a torn apart home with wood splinters all over my home. Nails sticking up out of the floor. Thick sawdust every where. To hire my own flooring man will cost me an additional $3000 and Home Depot could care less. I will have to live like this until I can find someone else to do the job. In talking to an outside flooring specialist he told me they have recently had to redo 6 other Home Depot jobs. read more

Horrible, horrible customer service! The employees that I encounter in the store are often very knowledgeable and helpful but god forbid you have to call the store to follow-up on an order. No one answers the phone! The operator keeps sending the calls back to the same department even after I told her repeatedly that no one was answering! Then I has to ask her to transfer me to a manager three separate times before I actually got to talk to one. And then the manager wanted to take my number and have the department call me back after I explained that we had already been playing phone tag for three days! After about 15 minutes on hold, my call magically disconnected! While many of the employees are fantastic, I would have to conclude that the management of this store is awful. read more

We purchased a granite counter top for our kitchen and bath, sink, faucet and garbage disposal for a small kitchen and bath remodel. We contracted Home Depot and Crew 2 to do the work. The plumber came the morning of the install and was supposed to turn off the water and unhook the dishwasher to ensure it was ready to go for the counter top installers. They installed the counter top in the kitchen and bath without incident. Later that evening in the lower level of our home water starting coming through the ceiling until we figured out where it was coming from. We found that the water supply under our sink was not completely shut off and it was collecting for 12 hours on top of our downstairs ceiling. This caused major damage to our ceiling so we contacted Home Depot to file a claim. Three days later the claim adjustor representing Crew 2, Todd Handeland came to our home to look at the damage. He asked questions about what happened and asked if we had video of the water coming through the ceiling which we did not think of doing at the time due to wanting to find the water source so we could get it to stop! We dried the ceiling to ensure no mold would set in that evening. Two weeks later we received a letter stating our claim was denied and we felt they basically were calling us liars about what had happened. We contacted the District Service Manager Kevin Dorf to see what he would do for us since we now have to replace our ceiling. He said he would give us a $100 gift card!! What?? How is that going to help since it was their Plummer that caused the damage in the first place! After a lot of back and forth with Kevin he finally said they would give us $500 to go toward getting our ceiling fixed. We waited a month and still no check. We went into the Chaska store and spoke to the Store Manager who credited our Home Depot card for $500. This whole experience with the Home Depot has put a really bad taste in our mouth for using their contractors (Crew 2) and even shopping at any Home Depot store for future projects. I know they are a really large company and probably don't care about all their individual customers. We just wanted to share our horrible experience with Home Depot and Crew 2 to save anyone else from having the same thing happen to them. read more

We've frequented this store so many times since our house fire and we get so many that ask us how things are going. They know our puppy by name and are sad when she doesn't come in with us. DO NOT purchase a counter top from these people if your house is not new construction. Home Depot in Chaska, MN, contracts folk that can't handle anything that is not a straight line. We're not talking out-of-level but simply 5/8" variance in distance from the wall to outer edge over a 12 foot length. When attempting to perform HR duties, Home Depot took the word of the contractor who claimed the 5/8" variance was in height and that the top was not level enough to accommodate granite. Home Depot opted to believe that untrue claim. Have not yet made up my mind whether to continue the struggle with HD or go elsewhere. Will update accordingly. Update: With but three phone calls, I found reputable contractors with 5 star ratings who agreed without hesitation to install the same granite countertop, similarly priced, without issue. When all is complete, a review for the contractor will be posted. At this point, all I will say is Home Depot's contractors are less than honest and certainly unable or unwilling to accommodate anything not exactly square. Additional Update: My new countertop has been in use for two years now and is nothing short of perfection. Moreover, I straighened no walls, made no alterations or corrections and the new contractors installed without issue. Yet Another Update: After reading contradictory reviews suggesting I might be expecting too much, I will clarify my review and low rating of two stars. Honestly, this Home Depot ranks somewhere between two and three stars. I chose the lower based upon comparisons with other hardware and home centers in the area. I spend several thousand dollars each year on projects and use all such stores in my area. Moreover, I continue to use this Home Depot in Chaska because they are close to my home and I like to support local and Carver County businesses. Each time I enter the premises though, I remain well aware of a higher than normal likelihood I might not find what I need, might get bad advice, or might not receive compitant assistance. Again, I say this only relative to other stores in the area. I simply know this store well and have been using them since they first opened their doors, if memory serves, about 18 or 19 years ago. They are not terrible and have made massive improvements over the years--they used to have, in fact, a reputation amongst contractors for rarely having everything an order would need. On the other hand, most of the people in Gardening are a joy to do business with. But, some of the other folk are okay to work with and some aren't so okay. Overall, they simply fall short of other stores in the Western and Southwestern burbs. Other Bad Experiences at THIS Home Depot: - I bought a referb wood splitter with a 27 ton hydraulic cylander that exerts maybe 1 ton. - I bought a garage door along with installation. The installer split an A-frame in the roof of my garage and scurried off saying nothing about it. I repaired it myself. - Myriad visits result in them not having what I need. - The counter top explained above. NOTE: I have visited this store likely 100+ times each year and purchased part of or all of what I needed. I hope Brett B. continues to have good experiences and wish him and Home Depot, Chaska, the very best. But, my rating of 2 stars remains. read more

If I could give a zero rating I would. Doing a whole house remodel and spent $3500 to get carpet installed in majority of home. Had issue with pad from previous install in basement - was told it would be handled when carpet was installed in rest of house. Crew II who handles all installs for HD, as well as the person at HD who handles the problems to be addressed, totally dropped the ball. Never called me after I left numerous msgs about situation BEFORE they even came out. Installed carpet, they made a mistake at bottom of stairs with patterned carpet. Was supposed to come and fix next day as well as replace pad in basement. Got caught in phone mail JAIL for TWO WEEKS even after leaving messages with the production mgr 6-7 times. HD finally called back after mult msgs saying Crew II would get a hold of us, which they didn't AGAIN. Left msgs DAILY until my husband finally got a hold of a live body and complained. When they finally called there were NO NOTES on the issue in their system. Totally ridiculous and the person taking the complaint had ZERO customer service training - acted put out and like he wasn't representing his own company when I told them they needed to actually contact their customers about their fixes. They were told numerous times house was going on market in mid Oct and he had the nerve to say, "Well, we have to evaluate before we can fix it." Crew II, you had SIX WEEKS TO DO THAT. Have gone to Lowes, Menards & Home Depot in doing this project and the only one I will return to is Lowes. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Do not buy or buy through Home Depot!!! Home Depot DOES NOT I repeat DOES NOT have customers back if something goes wrong! FIRST OF ALL BEWARE... Home Depot only gives you 48hours to return if you are not happy with appliances, while Lowes offers 30 days and Bestbuy offers 14 days to return no questions asked. I had to fight to get a replacement bc I was over the 48hours and they prompted me to call Samsung warranty. They told me if I replace fridge it would be a one time deal and the replacement fridge would not be able to be returned if the same problems occurs. This is after they just told me they do not have a service tec in my area to fix a problem.... so I'm just stuck with a fridge not working properly!! At this point I had enough, I was basically given a ultimatum on a fridge that was a week old! With enough complaints to store manager I had them come pick it up and give me a full refund where I bought the fridge through Best Buy. Do your self a favor and stay away from Home Depot and Samsung!! Refrigerator Problems - compressor was very loud and squeaky, sounded like I had a house full of crickets! Door electronics did not work properly a few times would switch from water to ice and would still spit out water even though light was on ice dispenser. The doors did not work either as the flap would not open all the way causing it to slam into other door while closing. Would have to manually push the flap so it would clear the other door to shut. read more

When asking questions in tools, it's like interrogating a hostile witness, they're very reluctant to provide complete and helpful answers. When I checked out the young man was more interested in talking to his co-worker buddy and ignored me. Good location is trumped by bad customer service. Please do not let your family or friends use Home Depot for carpet installation. They will temp you with the low prices, 2 year payment plan and free haul away but it is not worth it. My parents were supposed to have carpet installed May 18 and 19th for 5 bedrooms and the basement. They showed up late on the 18th and then when they began laying the new carpet for the bedrooms it was discovered that 4 of the 5 bedrooms were cut at least a foot short. The 5th bedroom had two big slits in the middle of the carpet, they are guessing it was from a fork lift. They apologized and then said they would reorder carpet for the bedrooms and come back tomorrow to do the basement. The 19th they never showed up. We called and they said since they couldn't find the carpet for the basement they moved onto other jobs. Someone looked again while we were on the phone and they found the carpet, but since crews had moved on there was no one available to come and install. So the carpet install for both levels was rescheduled. The crew showed up late again to install the basement and then refused to move the exercise equipment even though my parents had pay the fee to have the crew move it. So once again the carpet was unable to be installed. Now the new carpet was to be installed 6/6 and no one showed up. We called and they said they were sorry but there was a miscommunication. So now my parents have had no carpet in their home and have had all the bedroom furniture in their living room and dining room for over a month. Home depot refuses to own up to their mistakes and make things right. This was the worst customer service I have ever seen and frankly I don't think they deserve a penny for this service. PLEASE DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU KNOW BUY ANY HOME SERVICE FROM HOME DEPOT, YOU WILL BE DISSAPPOINTED. read more
