Have been shopping here for years. Customer service and engagement have taken a drastic dive these past two. During my last visit I was followed around and recorded by an employee. Although I commend their loss prevention efforts, feeling like a criminal while you shop feels terrible. I can't recall a single time I had a good experience at this location. It's conveniently close to home, and that's the only reason I still shop here. But I come with very low expectations and I keep my head down. Sometimes, they lock the pro service side doors well before closing time. Probably to control the crowds as the day is ending. It's my understanding that exit doors should remain unlocked during business hours. Self check out area is poorly managed as well. I Do not recommend visiting this location if customer service is important to you. Only worth it for the quick, emergency runs. And don't wear a Baseball cap and heavy jacket unless you want to be profiled. Seriously. read more

I had a horrible customer service experience today ( March 13, 2023, 3:25 pm -4pm)at the Home Depot in Cedar Hill, Texas, I waited over 30 mins for a manager to come fix a pricing issue and he never showed up, so I left. However after waiting 25 mins I asked the clerk "Jaliya" in the customer service to again call the manager. Her response was extremely insulting and demeaning. She rolled her eyes and threw her hand up indicating that she didn't care at all. Her attitude and the manager's lack of responding was disrespectful. As you tell from the reviews, this store is not the best in town. They barely have any employees working and the ones that do aren't trained in their respective departments. I purchased 6 appliances and my delivery date has been changed 3 times in a weeks time. Today I was supposed to receive the merchandise but I called (they didn't call me) to confirm and was told they didn't come in. After hours on the phone, they changed my new delivery day from 7 days away to 4 days. I have to wait another 4 days and I already removed my old appliances as I was told to do by the confirmation text. For my troubles they offered me $100 but I spent $3200. My 92 year old mother purchased a medium refrigerator on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at this Home Depot but couldn't transport it home herself. She was told she could pick it up anytime Monday thru Friday with her receipt. She came back the next day with her receipt with friends to transport it and was given the run around for more than two hours as no one could "find it", first with the clerk, then she went to get help and when a manager was asked for she was given the run around. It wasn't until my mother "lost it" with crying and carrying on that they finally "found" the refrigerator. I feel this was elder discrimination and unfortunately the friend who came to help didn't stand up for her because there is no way I would have allowed my mother to wait two hours for a damn refrigerator. I would have gotten my money back and gone to Lowe's or somewhere else. And given a tongue lashing. Shame on you for treating your customers this way. We will never ever patronize this store or Home Depot again. read more

I have to admit there's a Home Depot closer to where I live but there are so many scary people loitering and panhandling outside (and some people soliciting inside) that I make the trek to the location in Cedar Hill. The Cedar Hill location has the same layout. Lots of goodies for the DYI person and contractor. They have poor lighting to almost none outside once the darkness falls. It really can be a hazard for people if they aren't looking out. The folks at this location try not to make eye contact with you but if you snatch them up they will help. Most of them are helpful. Even if they aren't knowledgeable they try to be helpful. The store is clean. Just remember to keep a look out for your safety. read more

Just came back from this location and I just wanna say that im flabbergasted at how terrible this place is. I was in the pro section to checkout and this lady yelled at me and my sweet babies. She was talking to her friends on her cellphone not the office line and she screamed at me to wait and yelled at my kids for nothing! They were just standing there! May I add my kids are Ukrainian adoptees and sobbed in the car the whole drive home. They got flashbacks from the mean russian men!! The only reason that this store is receiving 2 stars is because it serves its basic purpose and it is clean. We were in the store for over an hour in multiple departments and no employee ever greeted us or asked if we needed assistance. The other customers were friendly and we all spoke to each other. Had an online order items got canceled ,young kid said they no longer in stock but the website said otherwise. So I decided to go take a look for myself and they had plenty in stock!!!! Literally half the time those kids are just entertaining them self talking too one another rather then helping customers out. This Home Depot is always a disappointment to me. I only go here when there's no other option. On 3 separate occasions, I've seen tons of plants that are dying from neglect. It's usually the inside plants, but this time it was both the inside and outside plants. The situation was so dire, I did the watering myself. I got a watering can, and watered all of the plants inside. That's just unacceptable. I was also looking for an organic weed and grass killer. The woman who worked in the garden center did not know anything about this basic gardening product. There was a gentleman in front of me who needed help finding a gardening item too. She couldn't help him either. A supervisor was eventually called, and I did get the product, but something as simple as weed and grass killer should be on the radar of a gardening center employee. Thank God I didn't have an actual gardening question. I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1, because the gentleman who eventually helped me find the grass killer, and the woman who worked at the self check out were both friendly and helpful. On this weekend (I believe Friday or Saturday), I was on my computer, I was looking for a washer and dryer. I originally started with Lowes, & didn't find what i had in mind, due to issues with prior deliveries. I called Home Depot, and spoke with a lady, whose name i didn't catch. we chatted about what i was looking for and i settled for a pair that I was happy with. When you buy from a small picture and description online, you never really know what you are getting. This Morning they were delivered by a man named Tay, and his assistant. They are well honed and knew exactly what they were doing. "easy in/easy out". Home Depot's Delivery service, both on the phone, and ESPECIALLY their delivery team, were STELLAR !!!!! When they left, the machines were working smooth and quietly. This was the smoothest, most polite group i have dealt with. I will be definitely be back when i need my new oven/range!!! Went to Home Depot Cedar Hill Texas around 6:00 P.M searching for a washer and dryer. I hung around in the appliance department for 15-20 minutes with no sale associate in sight. I walked over to the flooring department and ask the girl that was just sitting on her as yelling out to another customer if she could assist me with the purchase of a washer and dryer, yes I was prepared to buy it today. The girl responded back and said I'm thr only one in the two departments and you will have to wait (the nerve of her). . What happened to good customer service or maybe it's based on demographics, I'm sure if I was out north the response would have been a lot different. The correct response would have been, instead of me asking her, she should have said may I help you and then explained her position. I would have been more understanding. With so many companies closing you would think upper management would train their employees. Home depot I can give you employees a lesson on good customer service. I am a avid Home depot shopper have been for many years. However after my experience on January the 15 . I will travel to the one on 360 and Broadway. I came into the store on Thursday the 12th to purchase sheetrock for a new construction .I ask and paid for a thresh hold delivery. I received a phone call on Friday confirming my 6am---10am delivery. I received a text message maybe 15minutes later saying my delivery had been rescheduled to the following Tuesday. I immediately call the number back that previously called only to be told that they would not be able to delivery my materials. I told her that was not going to work for me. They assured me that it was a error in the computer and would be there somewhere between 6am and 10am. I had contractors waiting on the arrival of materials at 10am .Since I had a 4hr window for delivery. After repeatedly calling the store and being rerouted at least 12 to 15 times . And finally going to the store to cancel the order all together at the store. I was told that my materials had been delivered .My onsite foreman sent pictures of how my materials were dumped onsite and was told that someone else would come and bring the materials inside which I was not informed of any of this. They arrived 1 1/2 hour later and threw trash everywhere. My materials were damaged and they were just very unprofessional at the least. The manager whom I spoke with was not apologetic at all. The materials did not cross my threshold until after 3:30. What they called a compensation for a total wasted day was truly insulting at the least. I sent pictures and a email and have not heard from anyone from the store . And this Saturday will be 2weeks. this by far was the worst customer service that I have received from management. with no remorse. I had a bad overall experience (bad customer service, lies, unnecessary extra costs!!) after I ordered a microwave a few weeks ago at this location. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE: When we got to the appliances department, we approached the sales guy Chuck and he was very dismissive and uninterested in helping us. He wouldn't look us in the eyes, and I think he pre-judged us as low-commission customers. (Side note: we were talking about shopping to replace a few other appliances, but we quickly changed our mind). Anyhow, Chuck perked up when he learned that we already had some high-end brand appliances in our home. LIES & PRICE GOUGING: After we chose a microwave, he told us that we were required to have an electrical pre-check to see if our wiring could handle the new appliance, before we could even place the order. It was $70. Chuck said that we could apply that payment toward the cost of installation, so we agreed because we needed the microwave. We had the pre-check and the technician who came to conduct it was surprised that he was called out to do it. I called the customer service number to inform them that the pre-check had been completed, so that we could now schedule the install... The Home Depot rep couldn't even find the order in the system (I gave her the order number and related details...it hadn't even been placed!) so she recommended that I call the manager because something was fishy!! We had to place the order again (after spending 2 hours in the store thinking that's what we were doing?!?) and when they came to install the appliance they told us that we could not apply the pre-check payment toward the install! Another $150. I've never had an experience like this at any Home Depot, and I was infuriated at the end of this long, drawn out process, because I needed the microwave (I have a baby) and didn't want anymore delays. I believe this sales guy Chuck took full advantage of our customer need and made up additional steps in the process to increase the total price of the sale and outright lied to secure the sale. After all of that we ended up spending almost $600 for a replacement microwave! We WILL NOT be returning to that Home Depot, nor any other Home Depot. We were very loyal customers prior to this, but because of this experience and feeling like we were jerked around by a greedy a sales guy, Lowe's has a whole family of new customers. It's so unfortunate that customer loyalty means nothing. If that's how you conduct business, Home Depot, then we aren't the right customers for you. read more

I've been shopping here since my family started remodeling houses nearly 20 years ago. They have most everything we ever need, and if not, they always help us locate a store that does. The prices are reasonable, and they don't fight us when we have to return or exchange products. Through the last few years, we see a new set of employees every few months. They sometimes are still learning and can't always help, but they are very polite and they find someone who can. I wouldn't recommend any other store. read more

Giving it 1 star because zero is not an option. DO NOT BUY YOUR APPLIANCES HERE!!! Quick to sell but make it extremely hard to return. We wanted to return a 2 day old washer and dryer. The washer damaged our clothes. Made it sound like it would be easy. All we wanted was another model that didn't damage our clothes. The next day the conversation took a total turn. Now they will take it back but we have to find a way ourselves to get the washer and dryer back to the store. Keep in mind, we aren't trying to return it for a full refund. We want to exchange it. They told us the day prior that it would be no problem. Let's not even mention the 3 times we were in there it was difficult to find help. I actually had to call customer service from my cell inside the store. Each time the person "was just coming back from break" . We will be remodeling our kitchen and new floors throughout the full house. We were going to shop there for appliances, counters, floors, etc. We will be returning the washer and dryer for a full refund and buying it from another retailer. What a horrible decision. They lost all of the remodel sales from a lousy delivery/pickup. WOW!!! read more

The staff at the Cedar Hill Home Depot help me find the needed materials and frankly give me confidence. In fact they ask me to bring them a picture of the finished product. I have to use this store a lot because of the location. I've complained to their manager 3 times about them not having any regular checkout lanes open, only the self check. I'm not interested in doing their job and getting aggravated at a computer because it wants me to put something in the bagging area! Employees wandering around and I guess no one is allowed to man a register when needed? When they do have a checker, they are usually the slowest people I've ever encountered at a store. I've tried to buy acetylene refills at least 2 times but had to leave because they couldn't figure out how to ring it up! And the damn credit card reader with its chip reader constantly a problem. I have no problem anywhere else with the same card. They need to remember how customer service works. I'm guessing bad management and even worse management above this store for not seeing what's going on with here. Maybe they're trying to see how bad they can suck before they start losing money? When I ordered over $600. worth of Levolor blinds, I was told I could add the extra $100. for installation when I picked them up. When I got to customer service, Natalie waited on me with a surly, unhelpful demeanor and totally said I could not add the $100. for installation as I had not had Home Depot out to measure my windows. When I ordered the blinds, I had specific measurement from my contractor & was told it would not be necessary for Home Depot to measure my windows. She was not friendly, not helpful, and then made an agonizing look for the blinds and then finally found them where she first looked. Then she slowly took them out and leaned them on the counter looking at me as if she expected me to load them, in the cart. I couldn't as I am a senior citizen so she put them in & then sarcastically asked if I need help loading to my car. I said I can't do this by myself & she did call a very helpful young man who seemed to enjoy working at Home Depot. She is not customer-friendly and is not helpful and seems to take pleasure in as many obstacles she can throw in the customer's way. One person in contractor checking and 10 people in line. Saturday morning at 10 same situation. I am new to Cedar Hill. I use this location for convenience but am so sorry this is my only option. I have only had one good experience & that was because I tracked down the manager since no other employee had the time to help(according to them). Last night, I heard an employee yell down the isle to another employee "what are you doing". The answer was "chilling". When I checked out each isle for the items I came for, there was no one to help. But when I got to the paint isle, no one was around. I waited at the desk, no one showed up. I walked 3 isles looking for someone & she was helping someone else so I waited back from the group while she asked others to help. Then she walked away from me & I had to run after her. She said he had someone at her desk waiting for her. I pointed out that I had done the same & finally had to chase her down. She fluffed me off and I lost it. I went to the desk and complained. Yeah......like that made an effect. I grew up in the Sixties where personal service was king.............these people don't care. I have had bad experiences at the place before & not always employee related. The people can be terribly rude about parking. I still need some product not sure what to do. Wrong experience ever I ordered a large amount of supplies and they called and told me my items were ready so when I went to go get it it was not there. This upset me terribly I have a project going on at home and a time sensitive issues and Home Depot told me when I got there that I cancelled the order. But I'm there with a truck to pick up! Also I didn't receive an email stating that I cancelled the order there's no return on my credit card and I have email transactions showing the status and arrivals of my items and they ready! The only excuses that had was you cancelled and oh yeah you had insufficient funds I said really! That's the best y'all can come up with! Wow! That's strange all my other items ordered arrived and were ready and waiting except for yours! My credit card is far from being insufficient and you're telling us you can't print any of that information out for us! I am advising everyone please be careful when dealing with Home Depot. Countertop Installation services. DISASTER. I recently contracted services through Home Depot for my recent countertop installation. From day 1, I was given misinformation. Customer service continually promises call backs and follow ups, but I promise you will be doing all of the follow ups. There were numerous times I would be promised a call back the NEXT morning, only to call back myself the next afternoon and be told "vendor" offices are now closed and they'll try tomorrow. If that wasn't the answer, the said employee would be off work for the day. Too many times to count. If you do not stay on top of the process, expect to be waiting months. The overall process from pay to install was 2 months. 2 months! You can imagine how frustrating that is, considering HD sure has their money in pockets. My assumption when hiring HD was they would handle the process of contacting the installers, plumbing, etc. Not the case. There were numerous occasions that HD claimed to be waiting to "hear" back from their vendors. If you show any signs of frustrations, they'll offer the phone number to the vendor so you may follow up and call yourself. Which I had to do numerous times because HD was unable to make any contact. Due to miscommunication, I was without a kitchen sink for 6 days! I will say that the stone installer was very polite and efficient... if you were able to get someone to answer the phone. The BBS plumbing, not so great. Their site says they'll make appointments so you're not waiting at home all day, but when you make an appointment not only will they not give you a time, you will not even be told a morning or afternoon slot! You'll simply be told they'll call an hour in advance. You can only imagine how difficult this is when planning time off work. In addition the the timing, their contractor left scratches in my kitchen floor. When I said something to the installer, he tried to argue that my floors were not wood and they were tile, so he couldn't have scratched them. No sir, I'm pretty aware of the product I had installed in my home and it is in fact wood. Here it is a week later and the plumbing company has yet to follow up with me on the issue. Summary: this was a complete waste of time. You pay for services that are not provided. I would suggest contracting your own installers, because you're going to be the one making all of the follow up calls and appointments anyways. Save yourself some money. HUGE disappointment. I asked numerous times how HD planned to correct the situation and never received a call back, not even after installation was complete. read more
