The great Humber Nursery on Albion Road closed 5 years ago and there have been a few other players trying to fill their shoes. This is also a very long time nursery in business over 60 years. They also have a loyalty program for purchasers. I don't know how many times I will come this far for purchasing but when I am in the area I feel comfortable buying in such a well run establishment. I bought only two fruit bushes but I saw the condition of other plants and feel confident they are all of very good quality. Some nurseries remind me of Knob Hill Farms being very dirty and not even attempting to look clean. This place was clean and well run

They have an incredibly helpful sale once a year on dog food that allows for very helpful savings, and a system set up that allows you to purchase what you need for the year at the sale price and have it stored at the store. They also are set up with reward programs where you buy a certain number of bags and get a bag free. I was later in Ontario Seed and noticed the same brand with components closer to what I wanted. I bought it and went back to Grobe to return what I had just bought an hour before. I was directed to a big guy who berated me for wanting to return it. It was my bad that I hadn't seen the no return sign, and if that's the policy I'm OK with that. But to be yelled at and berated is astonishing and unexpected. I have done business with Grobe for almost 60 years. I'm not going back. Want to join me?

So I have to go inside during covid to customer service. I give my order number, I am never asked for my driver license but I offer it. After much scrutiny of 15min I am told it was picked up on May 27. How? I got an email that my order was ready for pick up May 30. So I asked who picked it up. They claim they are not getting signatures because of covid. So okay, no signatures do you at least have a name? Customer service says no. Okay so didnt you guys check the Id? No we dont always do it. We had a lot of paper work that day... This store is pretty disorganized. How can someone pick up my order on the 27th and 3 days later you tell me my order is ready for pick up. Does that make sense to you???? So all I can do is wait for them to check their cameras and guess who did it? That will take a long time. Now I had a print out of the order on my desk could someone have tried to do me a favour and pick up. Possibly I dont know. Its evening in Friday wont know until Monday. This is a mess during covid.
