We have been to this Home Depot many times. We have bought tools, parts, lighting, blinds and appliances. Every single department has been really wonderful! Julie in Appliances is absolutely wonderful. We had to select a washer and dryer based on the size we wanted. Julie was knowledgeable and helped us get one we really liked. Nancy in lighting was also great. Picking lighting is hard for me but we found exactly the one that would work. Prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend this Home Depot. We've had such great experiences from Julie in Appliances and Nancy in Lighting that I would definitely return. read more

If I could, I would've left them a zero. I wanted to purchase 25 bags of 60 pound concrete mix. I wanted them to put them on a pallet in the back of my truck. They wouldn't do it unless it was a full pallet. I'm 71 years old, I would have to pick up the bags and put it on a cart and then put them in my truck. What's wrong with their heads. I drove to Lowe's. They were not only cheaper. They loaded it. Service sucks!!!! read more

My wife and I noticed that our existing 20-year-old GE refrigerator was no longer refrigerating food or freezing food properly, so after a preliminary look at it by a plumber decided to replace it. We replaced it with a brand new LG refrigerator of comparable size at a great price - which we ordered online. Not only did the pros at Home Depot deliver the new refrigerator and install it properly but took away the old refrigerator at no charge. WOW! The new refrigerator works great, and we are quite pleased with everything. Home Depot is a great store for all home needs (I have shopped there before and always been quite pleased). What a great Home Depot where associates actually are knowledgeable and helpful. I needed air conditioning filters and associate took the time to explain the differences and steered me to buy the most effective filter to meet my needs instead of pushing the most expensive filters. Another woman helped me find the cleaning items I needed instead of me running around the store forever. Great customer service versus what I was use to up North- not helpful and reluctant to engage customers. Returned and again, many staff members offering to help offer assistance. read more

My husband and I went into the Cortez Store and met with Matt (in the flooring/window treatment area). He was great and really helped us to select the room darkening honeycomb shades we needed. He explained the cordless ones need to be raised and lowered often to keep them working properly. He also informed us the circular cords vary and some will work very well and others will be tight and it can be tricky. We more than likely will keep them up so we opted to go with a regular basic cord. We looked at all of the color choices and selected a neutral one. We also ordered a honeycomb side slider for our sliding glass window. It reminds me of a conference room divider. It has buttons on it which need to be pressed and engaged to slide the shade from left to right so it locks in position. The 5 window shades and slider shade all work really well. We are pleased with Jim the installer. It was easy to make appointments with him. He came out and measured all of our windows and sent them to the store which made ordering with Matt easy. We did pay a $50 deposit that went towards our purchase. Our slider shade did get delayed so I called Matt a few times to track it down. It finally arrived and got put up. Both Jim and Matt were very pleasant and on top of things. I knew we would have struggled with the install and just wanted it to be easy and that is what they delivered - EASY. There is a slight sliver of light that comes through the side edges which we knew would happen. At some point in the near future I will have curtains put up and that should take care of the light so our guests can have a completely dark room to rest in. The slider shade as a magnet at the top at both edges which holds it closed. I do need to push the release button and push on the top part of the shade allowing the magnet to release. Everything went very smooth and I would highly recommend Home Depot's window shades and install. read more

Bought an LG refrigerator here 3 years ago. Got the HD warranty and the fridge stopped working a week ago. 2 days of arguing and escalating with the warranty company and they finally agreed to send out an 'LG tech' who fiddled around in the back of the unit, pushed it back in place, and said it was fixed. I asked what was wrong and he said he had to reprogram it. 'If this doesn't fix it, call LG'. So 2 hrs later it still isn't turning on and is hotter than the house. He did say to give it 12-24 hours, so I will but it seems like he's really trying to not have the warranty company pay out anything. Just like Home Warranty companies do. Seems pretty much like a scam. Which I didn't expect from HD. Never get a HD or Lowe's etc warranty. I know they don't implement it but they should work with a reputable company. read more

This location today had one person working customer service. Apparently someone was working on a special order and the line grew with no concern for servicing the customers in a growing line. Only one person working. The last time this happened I waited over 20 minutes before I was helped. Today I simply left after 10 minutes with others still waiting in line. working on a kitchen renovation since April. Had to pay 100 percent of the price upfront which started the issues. The designer was good - although after I paid in full, I was told that they miscalculated and had to pay an additional 2K for the countertop. Countertop looks great - only item that is now installed , except they lost the faucet and didn't connect the stove. Impossible to get someone from HD on the phone. I needed to replace some carpet in a 10x17 room. Easy job. I shopped about 8 different retailers. Home Depot had a great price point on good quality carpet. HD no long give price estimates in the store, you have to pay $35 to have the measurements taken at your home. I was supposed to get an price estimate in 24-48 hours. I called HD after 4 days. They said a sku was wrong and then offered a quote. I asked for the price w/o new padding because my existing padding was only 4 yrs old in a seldom used room. I was told that Home Depot would not sell me the carpet w/o new padding. The recommend pad added a full 33% to the total cost estimate and HD was no longer competitive. I could not find anything on their website that indicated new padding was required. This is a classic bait-and-switch sales tactic and is very unethical. I'm also out my $35 in-home measurement fee. read more

Much more helpful employees , they do a MUCH better job of keeping people safe, good control of lines and social distance real good mask compliance. Let's face it all these big box stores have the same stuff at nearly the same price, so the difference is the service employee provide. My order was rescheduled multiple times over 20days for reasons other than out of stock. I had to go into the the store twice to have it sorted, or I would still be waiting. I have been given all kinds of conflicting information on your policies from different stores and delivery driver, ie return policy, delivery, delivery policy, in stock, etc. The refrigerator is damaged (dented, freezer door hing damaged so does not close meaning it can not be turned on). Miserable experience all around. It is clear that most of your associates do not know how your system works And process has been so changed so many times that they don't try anymore. read more

My experience with this location couldn't be worse. After four installation attempts, two measuring appointments, three conversations with management, and a time span of approximately four months my carpet installation has finally been completed. I've sent an email and letters to corporate and this location and have received zero outreach. The only good thing I can say is the installer, USIG Installation, was fantastic. I just don't get this Home Depot, I really don't. Associates are very nonchalant, to the point of being rude. They don't assist you to find items, they just tell you where to go, if you're lucky enough to get them to help you at all. They were very rude and dismissive to me, on several occasions. I only keep coming here because I have a card with a high limit and the place is literally outside my back door. I think a lot of the staff at this Home Depot are a little racist also. The one guy in flooring, Greg, is nice -- everyone else can go play in traffic for all I care. Bottom, many of the Associates here aren't fully trained, it's so obvious. read more

Not really about the store as with the delivery team. I was flat out lied to by Darwin. Had a washing machine delivered on 4/1/2022. Was told by Darwin that I need a plumber. That was easily taken care of. The problem was they would not remove the old washer and was told the plumber would take care of removal and installation of the new washer. Which is not the case at all. Plumber showed up in a car and alone. Second story delivery. When I called Home Depot, I was hung up on 2 times. No help at all. Was told by one lady, I should just take the washer outside and someone would pick it up. If could do that I would have not paid for this service. I paid for a service I did not receive. I flew in for this all to be taken care of. It was literally a 5 minute job after the plumber came. Told multiple people I was only here for a few days. No help at all. So now 3 different family members have had to go down to Florida for one job. (First time the delivery time never reached out to me to set up a time, no email) I take responsibility for that. I should have called. I will never use Home Depot for anything again. I will go and pay More somewheres else. Maybe have a delivery team that doesn't lie to a paying customer... Home Depot on Cortez is my first choice when I'm working on home projects or need an appliance. This store, however, has gone down hill and I'm going to Lowes more and more. I went to buy gutter supplies and found that parts I needed were not on the shelves. I had to get an employee to restock the shelves. The down spouts I needed were all bent and unusable, so off to Lowes ( which was well stocked). Back to HD to replace an alabaster vinyl blind and, of course, none on the shelf; however, on-line it states that the store has 15 in stock! We bought an appliance there recently and the very last thing they needed from me was for me to sign a waiver that I could not return the appliance to the store if it was defective. In the past this store stood behind their appliances and would make good if something wasn't right within 30 days. What's changed in the management to make this store so unhelpful to customers? read more

Last trip here! Paint department is a joke. They are condescending (or attempt to be). Offered no options on mixed paint that was done improperly. I had to make all the suggestions. They finally said they would lighten it. Rob needs to be in a different department or out the door. He started the interaction with me but saying this is going to take awhile I'm busy. The other gal must have been training, she knew nothing. The 3rd person was more concerned her sandwich had tape on it. Sad thing is I knew this would not be customer oriented before I came but I came anyway. This is my last trip in to Home Depot. We had similar situation before with flooring department. read more

Bought a stove through the store on Cortez. I agreed to have my old stove taken away after they installed the new one. The installer couldn't install my stove because the hookup was for a dryer so I had to call a plumber, who I paid $450, to replace the hookup and install the new stove. The Home Depot installer gave me an 800# to call once the new stove was installed and the old stove was put outside for pick up. I called the 800 number and they told me they would not pick it up because I didn't pay for a "haul away" fee when I purchased the new stove. I told them I was asked if I wanted my old stove taken away...and I said yes. I was never told about a fee! I asked to speak to the store manager, whose name was Justin. They wouldn't give me his last name, and they also told me he was in a meeting with all the other managers. They said he they would arrange for him to call me back...he never did. so I paid for an installation with HD that never happened and they refused to haul the old stove away because they claim I didn't pay for it? Not to mention the store manager can't be bothered to call me back. This is the last time I ever buy an appliance at Home Depot. read more

I have shopped at this Home Depot several times for small items and the last experience was renting a van. The other experiences I've had, the associates did their job; however, it took some time to be helped. This last experience I had, I rented a Home Depot van for a day and was misinformed by an associate named Pamela. She told me the van is $19 for 75 minutes and $100 for a day. My husband and I placed a deposit down of $50 and then proceeded with our day. The following day when we returned the truck, my husband had some difficulty returning it. This same associate Pamela was now charging us $159.43 for an item we were informed was only $100 (not including tax.) If the deposit we placed is to be credited to our rental, we should have only paid around $60. Yet here we are spending way more than we should. In addition, we were also charged a cleaning fee before she checked the vehicle WE ALREADY CLEANED OURSELVES!!! Even if the vehicle was dirty, it should've been her responsibility and common sense to check it before charging us and informing us of this. Days later, we contacted an MOD by the name of Cody. He was also of no assistance to us! Speaking with Cody, he's informing us that the truck was rented at $129 -- which Pamela NEVER told us and that there was a $20 cleaning fee to the account. Which once again Pamela NEVER informed us. Cody also mentioned, he would need to speak with Pamela about our issues before being able to assist us. In addition, he told my husband to continue calling back the store everyday until Pamela is in stores due to not knowing when she will return. It is not my job to keep track of your employees or have to keep calling when clearly you both have given us different information! I would never recommend this store to anyone and clearly management is just as incompentant as their associates! read more

Went in with wife to order new countertops. Lady in department was on phone with customer and seemed a bit rude to that phone customer. She got off and just kept typing on computer while we sat there. I finally said do we work with you for countertops? I have to pry out of her the process for doing the order. Now phone rings again and she is again a bit rude with that customer and when off she says "thats why I'm on xxxx" I again have to push to get info, I ask about textured surface, she says never heard of that. I ask about some other stones I see in wall display and she says that stone is on other side of the wall. I walk over there and they have the textured stone surface as a countertop on display. She is rude, uncaring and clueless in her job. We leave and will be purchasing elsewhere. read more

I live Hillsborough county and have rental property in Manatee. I went to the Home Depot on Cortez and bought 800.00 worth of paint. I asked for the 5% back like you get at lowes with their credit card and they told me they only do that for contractors!! Every Home Depot in Hillsborough match the 5%. I feel sorry for people that keep going back there. Go to lowes or come to Hillsborough county great service there. I think they make up their own rules here. I will never go back. When I got back to my Home Depot in Hillsborough County, I showed them the receipt from the store in Manatee and they could not believe it! DO NOT BUY YOUR APPLIANCES FROM HOME DEPOT. BUYER BEWARE - you have 48 hours to inspect installation, dents, accuracy in install... Reality is that you are looking at your Fridge, Micro Wave, Stove and Dishwasher. You want it to look good and work effectively. Our delivery guys were very sloppy and careless, barely spoke English. It was NOT Good! It is a classic case of a Mass Merchandiser versus a specialty store. We spent $4000 and I would like to start over again. HOME DEPOT IS NOT GOOD FOR APPLIANCES! Great garden department with tons of local plans that are healthy and all of the supplies you will need. A big plus for me is the pool supplies are always there and they always have what I need! Do not expect a special order flooring to actually be delivered! I have never dealt with so many inept employees as the ones I have been dealing with since Sept. 5th. 2018, when my flooring was supposed to be delivered to Home Depot on Cortez Rd. in Bradenton, FL. I have called and talked with so many different employees that at this time I couldn't even tell you how many. I even called the corporate office, or should I say, I tried to call them. You just get the same "press 1" for .... Eventually I ended up talking to someone who was of no help. I have never been so frustrated with a company in all my life. I recently bought a condo in Parrish, FL. I called to get the measurements of 2 bedrooms, 2 walk in closets and a den made the week before I actually bought the condo so I could expedite the process. I gave the Home Depot services employee the name of the two different types of bamboo flooring that I wanted. The measurement was done on August the 11th. and I received the results on August the 14th. I called the Home Depot to go ahead and order the flooring. Luckily I realized they had the wrong color listed. The person said I had to go to my local H.D. in Bradenton to actually order it since it was a special order. I told him I was in Hernando, FL at the time and asked if I could do it at a H.D. which was 15 miles away. He said I could. I went there to be told they could not order it for me, but I could make a call to the store in Bradenton and they could order it for me. I called; they said I had to do it in the store. I went there on the 15th, the day of my closing. So, I didn't save any time after all. I ordered it and it was to be delivered on Sept. 5th. I called on the 5th. only to be told it wasn't there yet, but it would be there by the 11th. Even if it did actually show up on the 11th, it stills needs to be delivered to my home, and it has to sit here for three days before being installed. I am having two POD's full of furniture delivered on Sept. 14th. with no where to put it. I cannot afford to pay another full months rent and insurance on these POD's, which would be around $600, so I have to have them unloaded by the 16th. so they can pick them up early on the 17th. I was assured by a flooring supervisor at the Cortez Rd. H.D. that they would install it on Sept. 12th. -- if it arrives. That was the big question at the time "if it arrives." It seems no one in the whole Home Depot family of employees knows where my wood flooring is (that included the homedepot.com problem solving staff.) It seems no one in the world could possibly find out where the truck was that had my flooring on it. They told me that no one knows what truck actually has the flooring on it so they cannot find out where it is. That is just so unbelievably stupid that I cannot comprehend such a statement. EVERY company in this world knows where their product is at all times. They know which truck it is on and where that truck is. So, I cannot believe that no one at Home Depot knows where my flooring is. I received an email on Aug. 29th saying it was in Lake Park, GA, which is just 4 hours from me. I was told that a special case would be opened for me and they would track it down. Today, H.D. says it cannot be tracked down - but it may be delivered by the 11th. How in the world could they possibly say it will be delivered by the 11th. if it wasn't delivered by the 5th. and no one even knows where it is or how to even track it down? (Update-got an email saying it would arrive by Sept. 20th.) A little too late for me. So, after several days and several phone calls with no results, I finally gave up and went to the store for a refund this morning. I purchased some bamboo from a local Lumber Liquidators and will have it installed next week. And it was even cheaper for the same thing! My advise to anyone wanting to purchase flooring and actually needing it installed quickly would be to just go buy whatever's on the floor, because you probably aren't going to get what you ordered. Tomorrow my POD's arrive and I will have to have all of my furniture piled up into the living room waiting for the flooring to be installed next week. Thanks for the crappy service Home Depot! Purchased Hampton Bay cabinets. What arrived was not what I saw in the store. Inferior quality, uneaven sides, laminate uneaven, glue showing, staples showing. Additionally several cabinets where damaged. Since the product was not what I saw in store and there were so many damaged pieces I requested a refund. The store manager agreed only to offer store credit for a different line. The designer put together an order for cabinets that I actually saw in store. Many types of cabinets where not available in this line however. This impacted our design significantly, but we were willing to work together and compromise. After following up on the date I the new cabinets where to be delivered we discovered an additional cabinet - the trash bin cabinet was not available, and there would be another weeks delay. This straw broke the proverbial camels back. After speaking with many people, including a manager by the name of Suzie, we were informed that as long as the order is not yet shipped, we will be offered the full refund. The store manager had to check with manufacturer and get back with us the following morning. We had to follow up ourselves...As usual. And learned that since the product was already assembled we would be charged a restocking fee of 25%. Ultimately we were charged over 28% of what we paid. So out of absolutely no fault of ours, after being subjected to misleading sales practices, switch and bait, a run around, lack of communication, and losing weeks of time, we lost alot of money... I would give 0 stars if I could. I cancelled other business I had with this location. My trust in this brand has been broken. read more
