We were passing thru on our Route 66 Chicago to Santa Monica journey, just ate lunch at The Big Texan and need a can of cheap paint before heading to the Cadillac Ranch to leave our mark. I just popped in for one thing and they didn't have it. Murphys Oil Soap in what I think is the 32 oz size. Well they usually carry the product but must've been out of stock on this day. Darn it! And the price was good too. This means I have to go elsewhere since I need this product tonight. A quick browse as I exit from the Garden Center. They had a nice variety of plants, houseplants and the garden variety. Also a well displayed assortment of fences that I've not seen at any other Home Depot caught my eye. Update on previous review.... Save yourself the hassle at this store. We have a legitimate issue and because the carpet installation company that did shoddy work in the 1st place said we didn't take care of our new carpet they won't back thier products. Installers pulled back a foot of our carpet and determined our entire house full of carpet hasn't been maintained and it's all our fault. Stay away. This Home Depot has literally, the worst customer service customer service I have ever encountered. I worked at a locally owned hardware store, and the customer service alone kept customers coming back. Was in an isle for 35 minutes, they called someone to come to the isle twice, and zero response. Wanted to buy a lawnmower that was on a top shelf. Great Value for the mower, but standing there looking at the sky, with no help got me zip! Avoid this place. I have used a military discount for years in Home Depot and just had to show my retired military ID card and phone number. Today I was told I needed to use the app. I do not carry a smart phone and refuse to live my life through a telephone. Home Depot has sold me my last item and I will now use Lowes. From not answering the phones and putting you on hold for an hour all the way to not delivering on the pickup service we paid for costing us time and money while my client is stuck with a driveway that is blocked with materials. This is the worse Home Depot that I have ever been to. They hold the carts at the door while 3 employees talk to each other about what they had for lunch while you stand there until you but into the conversation and then they do not even make eye contact. The lawn and garden is deserted when it comes to staff. They are not allowing you curently to re enter so if you know the exact plant you want that is outside the gate and you request it you then get a child that tells you to go out get it and walk around the building to stand in line again. In October, I took a week off from the stress of being unemployed and came to visit my parents in the Panhandle. My dad had two elm tree stumps in the backyard he wanted to get rid of. I beat on those stumps for three whole days with a dizzying array of tools. Pickaxes. Axes. Saws. Drill bits. Baseball bats. Cease and decist orders. ICBMs. Hammers. We even broke dad's 40 year old steel bumper jack. That was just on the east stump. We never even got to the west one. And the east one is still very much alive. I just called this Home Depot. This Home Depot has the WORST customer service available. Don't try to find anyone in the store that will assist you. Then when you have to order it because its not in stock. We ordered some storm doors and was supposed to be here on Sept 13 2021. It's now 20 Oct 2021 and we still don't have them. When we call to check on the status the folks on the phone are very rude. I requested the manager today and I now know where the employees got their training on sorry customer service. He was just as rude as all the other folks we have dealt with. Had ordered a tool chest online & my boss was the one to pick it up. When he picked it up was told that the chest was damaged but I I wasn't happy I could bring it back.......... 1st ? in my head why would someone let a damaged product leave the store so I called to speak to a manager. Great thing I did Billy was excellent understanding my situation he got me a discount & transferred to Noah! From a bad experience to being treated right I have them 5 stars!! I've been in Home Depots where clerks seemed to be walking by all the time and would always stop and ask you if you needed any help finding something unless they were busy helping another customer. There seemed to be a shortage of service people here. I also saw clusters of them standing around talking to each other when they should have been walking around looking for customers that needed help. After I wandered around for a bit I started tracking down people to help me but I shouldn't have to do that. The people I talked to were perfectly nice and helpful once I got their attention but it sure was nice to be in the locations where they approached me. I'm not that young anymore and while I'm sure it's good exercise I'm not crazy about having to walk all over the store to find things when someone could point me in the right direction and save me steps. So I waited back in the line and once I got to my turn, once again quickly disregarded once I asked. So I walked out of the store. I have been shopping in this store for at least 18 years. In the last 4 weeks I have been misdirected, misled, and outright lied to by several employees and managers. When a young employee lays out for me that he will try to be nice then lies to me about store policy, I have to tell myself that even Home Depot is suffering through pandemic related issues regarding hiring. When the manager stands buy and watches said employee be rude and condescending, I must remind myself that I am not a young person anymore, and that sinking to that level of rude, disrespectful, unintelligent, behavior might still be amusing but just not where I want to go after a forty plus hour week. I just want to pay my $700+ and go home. Mind you my contractor has come to help me fill the list. He is an older man with one leg and 3 cancer battles under his belt. The young employee challenged him.... honestly I couldn't make this up. All while his manager stood looking on. Wow. Won't even get into how a different manager argued with my 70+ year old Mother 2 weeks before over how it was not her problem regarding a pricing issue and that she could not help.....really? I believe that it is possibly appropriate to consider the old adage that if there's smoke then there's fire. I know that if I spoke to a customer like that, I'd be sent home for 3 days without pay and written up in my file. Perhaps if the management and lower level employees at this store had specific consequences, things like these incidences would not be the new norm. It is always sad to see a favorite store decline. The last time I remember something like this would be when Builders Square went under and Home Depot filled the void. I will sadly be doing more shopping at Lowes after this latest fiasco. I am an easy going, understanding person, but I can not get behind these disrespectful attitudes at this store any longer. This store seems to have passed its "heyday" period and driven me to my first ever "stink eye" review. Not even how I intended to spend over 2 hours of my Friday evening for a transaction that took me less than 15 minutes to pay for and almost 2 hours to get loaded. Whatever happened to the customer being helped is a long lost secret at this store. Actually according to the rude employe, it is not store policy. The kitchen and bath in this store agreed to remodel my grandmothers bathroom. They came in a ripped her old shower out and began to install the new one when the workers realized they had brought the wrong one. They left saying they would be back with the right one, that was the middle of May! It's now September and still no word and the shower is still ripped out! read more

Rosie at Amarillo Soncy Rd Home Depot is the best! She is a prime example of an excellent customer service employee. She assisted via the telephone from another state in the purchase of three appliances. There was a special promotion going on for customer discounts. The washer/dryer pair had been so popular they were sold out. She asked questions, called the main company, called me back at least two times, etc. She made more inquiries as to how I could purchase the washer/dryer pair from the Soncy store and a refrigerator from LG but still gain the money-back reward for purchasing three appliances. She never gave up and continued to place calls, receive calls, and make inquiries to the company and her manager to complete the deal, but most importantly "SERVE the CUSTOMER". She deserves an award! When I pick up the appliances I want to meet her in person and thank her for her AWESOME Service. She deserves recognition from her manager and a raise or promotion or both! She is getting a special thank you gift from our family! If all of the employees are like "ROSIE" at the Soncy store, shop there they are the BEST! read more
