Worked at the amarillo store as delivery for a total of 3 years..the whole thing is horrible seen them send out damaged products would make us take and attempt delivery even if we reported the damage.they touch up the damaged furniture w markers and attempt delivery..when the customer refuses the item or later discovers the damage delivery has to pay out of pocket..tophat which is the middle man/contractor does not follow policy and procedure and in 2.5 years as contractor has deducted over 25,000 dollors in damage from me as th contractor..this whole store and the people that run it..Ari/daniel/robert/ and wes all cover for each other..do notbuy from them they are not a honest nor trustworthy..run and pass the word to your friend run them out of amarillo..lets close this store down we dont need dishonesty around here read more

I guess you get what you pay for... oh wait their stuff is marked up so high that you don't even get your money's worth... Their name is fitting for their customer service. Horrible customer service - today was my first day to walk in .. 4+ employees standing around. All I was told was look around and if it's not in stock there is a 150 dollar transfer fee. I walked around and not one employee was close enough for me to ask a question. Will not ever return. I believe customer service is key. What a shame for such a large store. read more

The store and employee's at this location we're great! Helpful, answered questions, polite. However the service and repair department have been an absolute joke! First time I have ever had to use then, but my spin cycle was not working at all, placed and order for service. Took them a week to send someone out to even look at it. The service center said the technician would be out by 9-12 to come see what the issue was...well by 5:00 a technician showed up, tells us that he has to be flown out from Houston and can only do calls in our area on Tuesday and Thursday and that's why it takes a while...okay, I get it everywhere is short on workers, tells us he has to order a part and that it would be in the following week and that he would return to install it and hopefully that fixed the issues, this was on May 26,2022. The following Week calls and asked if the part came...it did not, so had to wait until the part comes in. The following week the part comes in! But no call from the technician, then he apparently just shows up without calling to let us know he is coming! The only reason we knew this is cause we called the Conn's service department and that's what they told us he had placed in his notes, so I was already annoyed and asked if we could please schedule the service to come out.So this week it's now June 13, Monday and they said, they would be out On June 14, cool, can do this, but again! No technician shows up!!! However the scheduling and technician called and said they he would be out between 1:30-3:30, never showed up, no call nothing. Called the service center again, they said the technician had no notes about our service call and nothing scheduled today. So agin rescheduled for June 23rd!! I'm beyond done! They shouldn't offer warrant that I paid for if they can offer to hold up service!!! No accountability!!! Maybe one day I will have a washer but never again from Conn's read more

I purchased a Washer/Dryer combo from Conns during a special where the first 2 months were free. Me being the person I am I still made payments those 2 months. Approximately 6 months later I came into some hard times and I could not make the payment. Being ahead I didn't stress over it too much until they tried to charge me over $200 in late fees. Thankfully I keep record of EVERY payment so I had paperwork to back me up. I fought with them for almost 3 months until finally they saw their error and corrected my account. NOW here we are a year later and they are trying to charge my account $600 and it doesn't look like I'm going to have as much luck this go around. I was in the process of moving and called to see if my local Amarillo store offered moving services because I didn't want to damage my furniture. I was told by the employee that answered the phone that they did not and then when I asked if any damage would be covered under my repair plan if I moved them myself she said yes. During the move one of the rocker arms on my love seat was bent and now the right side leans too much. There were also a couple of tears in the fabric of both my couch and love seat and a piece broke off of the the fold down table on the couch. I requested to use my repair plan and someone was sent out. He repaired the table and tried to adjust the rocker arm but said he'd have to order parts and it would take a couple of weeks. After not hearing back from anyone I HAD to call the customer service department to find out the repair was being declined. Apparently moves are not covered under the repair plan. I explained to the rep that that was not what I was told by the local store and they basically told me tough luck. I called the store again to speak with a manager but before I let them know what the issue was I again asked if damage during a move was covered. Again I was told yes but that I needed to "word it right". I'm assuming that means they wanted me to lie. I do have them on recording now essentially saying the same thing about "wording". I spoke with the manager and he offered to escalate it to a service manager by email. I called back for 4 weeks straight and he said they never even responded. At this point I had started receiving harassing calls about paying my bill. I decided to voluntarily turn in my furniture. When I spoke with a manager in the service department by the name of Cale (not sure on spelling) he advised me not to turn them in yet and he would speak with the main supervisor of the servicing department and call me back within 20 minutes. It's been over a week now and I have still not received a call back. I have however received more harassing phone calls and representatives telling me it is my fault that I've been dealing with this for almost 2 months now and I should still pay my bill. Well I'm not going to pay for damaged items that I was told would be covered especially when half the repairs were made but somehow the other half are not covered. I FINALLY got someone to accept the fact that I wanted to return my items only to be told now there was another issue. I purchased a mattress a year after I purchased my couches but the representative who sold them to me (his name is Eric and now he's a manager) combined them together somehow. I was not aware of this and now they're requiring me to turn in ALL of my items. This is completely unacceptable. I'm not sure what kind of training your representatives go through but they have outright lied to me and also have told me to outright lie to the service department. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, forwarding my recordings and other call records to my lawyer, and making sure that I tell as many people as possible about the shady practices of not only your local store but your company as a whole. read more

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.... they FINALLY gave me an exchange, I went and picked out a replacement dryer, (had to pay for a new warranty)... and when it was time to deliver, they delivered a WASHER!!!! We have been waiting since Thanksgiving for a Samsung sound bar we ordered, and Conn's continues to keep lying to us about the date we can pick it up. Finally they promised after two previous lies it would be in today by Christmas. Well it is still not here. All the while they are blaming Samsung for not making enough supplies when across the street Best Buy has over 20 of the same model on the shelf. Tried to show the manager that the same model was in stock online, but that was inaccurate of course. Do not waste your time. So, we bought 2 air conditioners last Friday.. Put one in our son's room immediately.. Worked great! The other was to go in my room. Due to life and work schedules we just opened the box to put it in..it's 220..it isn't compatible with my bedroom..I called Conn's and told them I was coming in and the basic problem.. I was told I would need to pay a 15% restocking fee..whatever.. I just got here to Conn's, only to be told the 30 day return policy is a lie when it comes to 220 air conditioners.. A fact the manager and the sales associate NEVER mentioned! Now, on top of it all, the manager disappeared and left us standing at the front doors...hmmm... I'm thinking that this store sucks, and if that is the policy, then perhaps they should train their employees better.. And now, they can't seem to find my account!! Freaking lovely!! I guess this is another example of jacking with the consumer and not giving a damn. Now it gets better! The company they use fir lease to purchase, progressive, won't take it back according to Conn's..even though Conn's just called them, they are closed..I was impressed by the extreme lack of knowledge on the part of the sales associate and her manager. Whatever class they take for this job, needs to improve quite a bit! The ONLY reason they got a star at all is because the air conditioner in my sons room is working well. Date of incident August 13th and 14th, 2017 AWFUL EXPERIENCE! I decided to purchase a bed set that I had been looking at for a few months. While I was here, I also decided to purchase a patio table and chairs. The staff was very helpful once they FINALLY took the time to acknowledge I was there and asked if I needed help with anything. I asked them to run some numbers to see how much this bed set would be on one of their finance plans. This was done without any issue and I decided to go ahead with my purchase. The general manager (according to his business card) set up the order. Once he set up the order he had a sales associate confirm the order with me. As she was summarizing the order, a charge of over $513.00 was added without my consent for the protection plan. In total, it was a little over $4,100.00. I told the sales associate that I did not agree to the protection plan and they removed the charge. By doing this, the general manager had to come back and have the first transaction reversed. He didn't apologize for his mistake and all he said was "I'll have to start all over". A new ticket was submitted by the same general manager and the sales associate then went over the new ticket with me. She pointed out each item that I ordered and the protection plan had been removed. There was a line item on one page of the invoice titled "Uncrate and Deliver" that showed $0.00. I assumed that meant they removed the delivery charge since they offer free next day delivery. I was wrong! I left the store around 4:30pm and received a phone call around 7:15pm the same evening letting me know that the delivery fee had in fact not been removed and that I needed to go back in so they could correct the issue. A THIRD ticket now has to be submitted. Frustrated, I agreed to drive across town so they could fix their mistake. We reviewed the invoice again and it was correct this time. NOW with a total of a little over $3,200.00, I was assured that I would still receive free "next day delivery". Fast-forward to the next day, I receive ANOTHER phone call from the sales associate to let me know that I would NOT be getting my items until 3 days later, even after I received a text message confirming the delivery timeframe. This obviously is not next day delivery. The reason? "The email did not go through the night before". I expect better service from a company when I have spent over $3,200.00 in their store and they have assured me that I would get my items by a certain date. I asked for a corporate phone number and was provided a phone number to their financing department. The financing department had no record of any order that had been put in the previous day. I decided to call the customer service phone number listed on their website. The first person I talked to said that I would have to speak to another department and transferred me without explaining the issue to the next person. That person then told me that I needed to speak to some sort of "specialist". I asked him to explain the issue to this specialist so I don't have to repeat myself for a 3rd time. The "specialist" answered and SURPRISE SURPRISE, NOHTHING HAD BEEN RELAYED TO HER. This third representative was able to call the store for me but couldn't get anywhere with them either. It was "out of their hands" is what I was told. After speaking to the sales associate and the general manager for the last time, I decided to cancel my order and my account with Conn's. It now makes sense on where the name "Conn's" comes from. They would've pocketed an additional $900.00 had these mistakes not been caught. How many other people has this happened to that don't realize it? I have now found the exact same bed set with two night stands, dresser, and mirror for WAY cheaper, and the protection for 5 years at $99 as opposed to Conn's 3 years for $513. read more

horrible after sale service!!! don't buy any appliances here!!! if they breakdown or you have an issue with appliance, they will not do anything for you! even if you purchased a warranty. i bought a dryer there back in june and it was defective, i paid cash. i have been trying to get it replaced for a month now and they keep passing the buck to either ge warranty or their "corporate' office. i spoke to store manager and he is useless, he has no power to do anything to help the customer,he has to wait for "corporate" to approve anything he does. as you can guess, 'corporate" is slow in approving anything and doesn't care about local complaints. i just filed a complaint with the bbb on them, have never done this before, but the level of service here is absolutely horrible. word to the wise - discount appliances and furniture means discount, shotty customer service. pay a few extra bucks and go next door to home depot. lessons learned. i cant stress enough- don't buy appliances here - you will be entering a nightmare if anything ever goes wrong!! read more

If there was a store called rip-off would you shop there? If there was a store called credit destroyer would you shop there? This store is called Conns for a reason. Conns is short for Conn Artist headquarters. They want 2600 for a bed set that is particle wood and get this you pay 256.00 a month and they only pay 30.00 on the bed. For dummies that means 226.00 of your payment goes into their pockets. That will take you like 5 years to pay off. If you have credit problems just go to Aarons or Rent a center at least you wont pay out the wazoo like at Conns. All Conns really is a rent a center that is disguised as a Sears store. Oh yeah they won't tell you that you will only be paying 30.00 a month on the item and 255.00 on them. They just tell you your payment and when its due and how much the entire thing cost.
