See pictures on Yelp and Google that cabinets/countertops are great but overall kitchen remodeling was not completed *Cons:* 1.) Aggressive sales team. We wanted only to add additional cabinets and ended up with Kitchen remodeling at 4 times the original planned budget. An analogy could be that the team will sell you a Porsche when all you wanted was a Honda. The problem is you would never know the true cost as I never wanted a kitchen remodeling. However the sales team would make you sign the contract and make you pay 10% down payment that very day. Please see other comments in Yelp, Google and BBB and to understand I am not exaggerating. See I got this from Angi's list I called them up to update there as well. 2). Finished cabinets and countertop is top notch but the state of Kitchen was left very unpresentable. Kitchen remodeling needs to be complete 3) Asking for 90% of payment when the cabinets and counters are placed but not all work complete esp with broken torn down walls. This is because when the contract was authored the conveniently authored it this way. I politely declined and the team accepted, yet should have never even asked for 90% payment when the work is not completed. 4) Unclear statements - We spoke about backsplashing & the Sales team quoted under $200. Yet was not very clear in contract. While I agreed to paint, back splashing was conveniently removed from contract and as end customer I am not the expert in all these contract. So I felt scammed when the found backsplashing would cost $2000 with labour costs. 5) False promises - Stated will collect the final payment after confirming everything was satisfactory. Yet left with unfinished partial drywall but I did pay as signed in contract and never delayed payment except when work was uncompleted. I am not just a complaining customer but still wanted to register my dissatisfaction and educate other customers. Once again cabinets and countertop are great but overall kitchen is unsatisfactory. We called our insurance and who brought out water mitigation, and after a week of their dehumidifiers in our condo things still weren't dry. So we called Dave, after a Yelp search revealed high marks and were so glad we did. He came out immediately and pointed out that something was wrong, so he pulled up the subfloor and revealed that there were cracked pipes in the wall that were leading to a much bigger problem. He worked with us through a crazy, and hectic holiday season getting our lives back together and despite having to work with our insurance, the HOA, and the HOA insurance was always putting our needs and concerns first. He knew our budget and worked with us to make sure we were the happiest we could be while staying within our tight budget. One last anecdote about his dedication to his customers: while I was out of town my wife found out that our hot water heater died. It was already in the evening, but when my wife called him (nearly in tears because we were still in the middle of the repair/remodel, had one room that wasn't pure chaos and all she wanted was a shower) he came out THAT NIGHT and replaced it. Tony and our project manager, Saul Whitworth, were involved throughout the design process. Conceptual concepts were measured against costs, with the final product being a home my husband and I were eager to build and could afford. The construction process was a true pleasure. The team of experienced craftsmen were a joy to work with, creating many of our custom elements from a photo or sample mock-up. The team kept us apprised of decision timeframes, we were able to make the tremendous amount of choices in a well-planned environment. All sub-contractors were equivalent in skill and ethics; Moceri Construction has developed a strong relationship with the top providers in the area. And equal to the quality of our build, the project stayed on budget and on time. Any cost overruns were driven by us, the Moceri team was flexible and creative with the changes we wanted to make. We couldn't be happier with our beautifully built home. Moceri's support post construction was superb; all minor issues were dealt with immediately and under warranty. The poor reviews over the past couple of years are likely quite accurate. One pays a premium for…read moreMoceri Construction - and one expects quality construction and quality service. During the 'sale,' they couldn't brag more about their work and how they stand behind everything they do. Months later, we discovered that the 'brag' was necessary to close the sale because the facts were quite different. The price tag kept increasing as our project went on. There were only a few minor changes from the original project - but the final bill was significantly more than the estimate with no real explanation other than "that's just how long it took." Worse, though, was the follow-up. Once they had their money, warranty work was impossible to get from them. During the project, they had removed some big walls in our great room, put in some 20 can lights in the ceiling, replaced a ceiling fan, and more. There was a lot of work removing walls, cutting holes in the ceiling, and walking around in the attic atop the ceiling. When the ceiling in that area started cracking afterward, they claimed it wasn't their responsibility or fault. Every other contractor we spoke with - including our Moceri project supervisor (who had subsequently left Moceri), and the drywallers who were the subs on the original job - told us that, of course, the cracking was due to the Moceri job and Moceri should take care of it. Nevertheless, Moceri refused to do the repairs. We ended up paying a few thousand dollar to the drywallers who had been on the job to fix the cracks. Also, Moceri built us a brand new master bath shower from the ground, up. About a year afterward, we noticed that whenever we took a shower, the carpet in the adjoining closet (which they also built) got soaked. We wrote to Moceri (both Tony and Paul) on two occasions - describing the problem and asking for them to come look and propose a fix. What we heard in response? Crickets!! They completely ignored our contacts. Tony told me that he was getting out of the remodeling business because he was tired of having to deal with clients. That's completely understandable. When you overcharge and then fail to stand by your work, it is hardly surprising that clients would be upset. So to avoid customers, he told me that Moceri was going to just build new spec homes and sell them. Just remember, though, even new spec homes will have problems. And if you buy a new spec home from Moceri, let's hope they honor their warranty and are willing to stand behind their work. For us - that wasn't the case. Maybe you'll be luckier.
