We wanted only to add additional cabinets and ended up with Kitchen remodeling at 4 times the original planned budget. An analogy could be that the team will sell you a Porsche when all you wanted was a Honda. The problem is you would never know the true cost as I never wanted a kitchen remodeling. However the sales team would make you sign the contract and make you pay 10% down payment that very day. Please see other comments in Yelp, Google and BBB and to understand I am not exaggerating. See I got this from Angi's list I called them up to update there as well. 2). Finished cabinets and countertop is top notch but the state of Kitchen was left very unpresentable. Kitchen remodeling needs to be complete 3) Asking for 90% of payment when the cabinets and counters are placed but not all work complete esp with broken torn down walls. This is because when the contract was authored the conveniently authored it this way. I politely declined and the team accepted, yet should have never even asked for 90% payment when the work is not completed. 4) Unclear statements - We spoke about backsplashing & the Sales team quoted under $200. Yet was not very clear in contract. While I agreed to paint, back splashing was conveniently removed from contract and as end customer I am not the expert in all these contract. So I felt scammed when the found backsplashing would cost $2000 with labour costs. 5) False promises - Stated will collect the final payment after confirming everything was satisfactory. Yet left with unfinished partial drywall but I did pay as signed in contract and never delayed payment except when work was uncompleted. I am not just a complaining customer but still wanted to register my dissatisfaction and educate other customers. Once again cabinets and countertop are great but overall kitchen is unsatisfactory. This review is a long time coming, but in the weeks leading up to Christmas on 2015 we had a catastrophic dishwasher leak in our condo. We called our insurance and who brought out water mitigation, and after a week of their dehumidifiers in our condo things still weren't dry. So we called Dave, after a Yelp search revealed high marks and were so glad we did. He came out immediately and pointed out that something was wrong, so he pulled up the subfloor and revealed that there were cracked pipes in the wall that were leading to a much bigger problem. He worked with us through a crazy, and hectic holiday season getting our lives back together and despite having to work with our insurance, the HOA, and the HOA insurance was always putting our needs and concerns first. He knew our budget and worked with us to make sure we were the happiest we could be while staying within our tight budget. One last anecdote about his dedication to his customers: while I was out of town my wife found out that our hot water heater died. It was already in the evening, but when my wife called him (nearly in tears because we were still in the middle of the repair/remodel, had one room that wasn't pure chaos and all she wanted was a shower) he came out THAT NIGHT and replaced it. Cool Runnings will be my first call and first recommendation for ANY contractor work in Whatcom county. The condo turned out great, holiday season saved, and my wife and I couldn't have been happier. After being recommended by a friend who has used Cordova Construction, we have used them for two…read moremajor projects on our home. The first one was total replacement of our asphalt roof with a metal roof. They had 4 workers come and remove all shingles and underlayment, load it in their trailer for disposal, had the metal roofing supplier deliver the the new metal roofing. installed new underlayment, and installed the new roof in 2 days. It was amazing watch the quality of their work, and their professionalism. The new roof has exceeded our expectations. We again hired them to paint the interior of our house. As expected, we were not disappointed. They moved our furniture out of the way, and protected it, and the floors with drop cloths, and applied 2 coats of paint on all surfaces, and assured the house was properly cleaned. Highly recommend for any home project!!!!
