I spoke to the roofer directly, who got us a quote after the job was done. We decided to keep waiting. Then a wind storm came through a couple of months later.Shingles started to fall off our roof. The house was well over 10-years old, so there was no way around it. Our roof needed to be replaced. So we did our due diligence and gathered quotes, and decided to go with JDM. Their quote was very competitive, but the actual service they delivered was worth more than they charged. Jim (the owner) and his crew was very busy, but they fit us in because our roof really was starting to fall apart. They literally started our roof after a neighbour began their roof replacement using a competitor, and JDM finished before them. And they didn't rush the job. They started at a reasonably early hour and stayed as late as they safely could. When it was done, not only did their lead roofer inspect the job, but Jim himself came by and inspected it as well. They cleaned up everything really well. I couldn't find a single nail anywhere around our house from the old roof, which was important because we have several small dogs that we love dearly, but are so daft because they try and swallow anything and everything. JDM obviously take pride in their work, and their many 5-star reviews on Google (and now here) are well earned. Cannot recommend them highly enough! Great work, great price, great service.

But he is always in Mexico or out of town and has no one to come and attend roof leak emergencies. When he returns from his trip, he comes and patched up the roof with caulking. It has been three years and the roof is still leaking and he has not done anything to fix his poor roof replacement work. He has not repaired our soaking ceiling. Today, I had to call another roofer to go up and inspect. We found out the roof was not installed correctly and the whole thing has to be redone. PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again.
