PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again. His price was very reasonable and he was up front on the work needed. We ended up doing a lot more work to the house with Mike since the work he was doing was great and we were happy. Rhys is nearly impossible to get in touch with. He doesn't answer his phone, his VM box is always full so you can 't leave a message. Doesn't respond to text and might email you back eventually. We had to keep scheduling with him to come out and start the removal of tile. Didn't show the first time. Rescheduled, didn't show the second time. Then showed up 2 later with no phone call. Took a hammer to our backsplash to remove the tiles and left the sheetrock ragged at the counter tops and below the cabinets that I had to clean up in order to put in new sheet rock. Tried to get him to come out to at least do the fireplace tile while we were waiting for the new countertops to be installed. It's then that he informs us he doesn't want to have to rent a tile saw twice to do the work. So now we find out he doesn't even have a tile saw to do this kind of work in the first place. So we say fine, whatever. Counter tops get installed, we try again to schedule him to come out to install the tile. No response. So we reach out again. He gets back to us 2 days later and says he can come out on Thursday. That Thursday was Thanksgiving. So I suggested Friday would be better. No response, didn't show up on Friday. At this point I'm fed up with his lack of response bought a tile saw and did the work myself. Then emailed and informed him his services are no longer needed and I would like to discuss getting our money back from him. . He actually got back to me the next day and said he understood and was willing to give up $700 and keep the other $700 to cover materials he purchased, time and disposal feel. So I told him if he purchased materials then I would like to have them for future tile projects since we paid for them, and asked for an itemized bill for the materials, time and disposal fee. He tells me he never purchased any materials for the job. So now it's $700 for 2 hours of work and a disposal fee???? Even at $100/hr, which is high for that labor rate. So I have repeated asked for an itemized bill and that I thought $700 was high. No response from him. Calling, texting, emailing, no response. We are now at 16 days and nothing. I normally don't hire contractors to do things I can handle myself, but with a new job, new house and several other projects going on, we hired him to save me some time. Now I not only had to take up my time to do the work we hired him to do, but I have to waste my time trying to schedule and just get in touch with him. If anyone knows a good lawyer that can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. At this point its the principle. Contractors already have a bad name. This guy isn't helping with that. I have all of the records of phone calls and emails we have received, I would be happy to post the timeline of everything and still might just so everyone can see what kind of business this guy is running.

Noah has come to our rescue in redoing our soffits at roof line with a creative sheet metal solution, getting our security cameras installed, installing a wonderful loft ladder, he'll be doing our shower door install, and will be working with Bellingham Plumbing and Heating to try and get our bath tub connected (the bad construction plumbers NW Plumbing put the pipes and drain in the wrong place when the slab was poured, and we bought the bath through them so they should have known the specifications, but they didn't even bother to look at the detailed plans before they did their terrible work). So we are still spending money fixing the problems of bad Whatcom construction contractors. But he is always in Mexico or out of town and has no one to come and attend roof leak emergencies. When he returns from his trip, he comes and patched up the roof with caulking. It has been three years and the roof is still leaking and he has not done anything to fix his poor roof replacement work. He has not repaired our soaking ceiling. Today, I had to call another roofer to go up and inspect. We found out the roof was not installed correctly and the whole thing has to be redone. The old wooden wall fell down because it was rotten and Preservative Services removed what was left of it and built a new wall. The wall is about 100 feet long and up to 4 feet high in places. The price was low to start with and when several problems came up during construction and additional cost was required the extra charges were very reasonable. When the wall was complete we still paid less than any other quotes we got. We have received several compliments from neighbors about our new wall.
