Holy Greens is located on a picturesque back alley in the old town of Helsingborg city, not far from the main street and shopping area. It is a modern and sparingly furnished salad bar with a naturalistic design of white, beige, wood and green plants. Popular as it is, the restaurant used to get very busy during the lunch hours with people waiting in line all the way out into the street, and with only a few seating possibilities it wasn't the most relaxing and cozy place to hang out and eat. However they have now doubled in size and it is now spacious and with a lot of seating possibilities and high chairs for children.
Their salads are truly amazing and most definitely worth a stop if you are in town. The menu consists of a variety of beautifully and colorfully composed salads made of garden-fresh vegetables grown by local farmers. The commodities are seasonally accustomed and handled with great care; crispy salads, perfectly blanched and raw vegetables, full flavored dressings, vinaigrettes and juicy chicken, salmon and shrimps, topped with crunchy nuts and seeds. The result is visually astonishing and an absolute joy for the taste buds. There is also a selection of fresh and flavorful juices and healthy shots made from vegetables and fruits, organic sodas, spring water and lemonades.
There are two new fall salads on the menu, I tried the hösthassel salad with chicken, rutabaga noodles, cabbage, sprouts, yellow beet, estragon vinaigrette, pumpkin purée and chopped hazelnuts. There was also a lactovegetarian alternative which was served with chévre cheese that also looked amazing. I highly recommend this extraordinary salad bar, great food, service and location. read more
