[Review #446] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (98/100)…read more Jour Pizza is one of my favorite local pizza joints near Arild. The restaurant offers a great lunch deal between 11:00 AM-2:00 PM of rotating daily specials (i.e. Pork Pancake with Lingonberry, Fish Gratin with Lemon Sauce, Chicken Fillet with Rice & Curry Sauce, Meatloaf with Boiled Potatoes & Cream Sauce, Grilled Pork Fillet with Red Wine Cloud & Potato Gratin, various pastas) with salad buffet, drink & coffee for 95 kr. We prefer the pizzas like the CARUSO (tomatsås, ost, skinka, bacon, cayennepeppar, lök; tomato sauce, cheese, ham, bacon, cayenne pepper, onion), POMPEI (tomatsås, ost, bacon, lök, ägg; tomato sauce, cheese, bacon, onion, eggs), or VEGETARIANA (tomatsås, ost, ananas, champinjoner, skivade tomater, kronärtskocka, oliver, lök, paprika; tomato sauce, cheese, pineapple, mushrooms, sliced tomatoes, artichoke, olives, onions, pepper). I also love their calzone; the CAPRIZONI (tomatsås, ost, skinka, färska champinjoner; tomato sauce, cheese, ham, fresh mushrooms) & my fav, the CIAO CIAO (tomatsås, ost, kebabkött, champinjoner, färsk vitlök, lök; tomato sauce, cheese, kebab meat, mushrooms, fresh garlic, onion). The thin crust is flaky & crisp, yet holds all the ingredients without falling apart for the most part. Jour Pizza is quite generous with the pizza & calzone toppings so you're left feeling satisfied. I especially like their version of coleslaw called PIZZASALLAD that I can add to the pizza, providing additional acidity & texture. Fast & friendly service, plentiful seating, though parking is somewhat limited (we usually park along the street near the entrance so I don't know if there's a private lot). Fast casual Jour Pizza offers something for everyone at competitive prices... it's my go-to whenever we're visiting family. Smaklig måltid! Recommended: Ciao Ciao, Caprizoni, Caruso, Vegetariana, Pizzasallad.

You walk inside a little shed with a fireplace, a couch and a couple of seats (this is in the winter - in summer there are plenty seats outside, too) with a jewelry shop attached to it. The prices are in no way cheap, no ma'am, but the coffee is incredible. And I'm mean INCREDIBLE. It's been a while since I had coffee this great. If you're not in the mood for this, however, you can also get a glass of cava. This is Gilleleje, after all. Also, it's fun to sit here just to get a feel of the community. Listening to the conversation inside By C Jewellery, you'll get a feel for the locals and what their primary topics of discussion are. Here everyone knows everyone and that might be part of the reason it feels so homey.

My choice, because I love it, was sushi....should I have chosen a different one? Well as our guide said in Danish speak, it was edible. That means it was okay, and yes it seemed to have looked better than it tasted. I liked the people watching because there were so many different people visiting during the lunch time and I was also told that it is expanding. A fun thing is that all of the furniture there was repurposed from places around the city.

We decided to try some fried langoustines and tacos. The tacos included one of each type of meat--pork, chicken, and steak. The pork and chicken were absolutely delicious, though the steak was a bit bland. As for the langoustines from the seafood vendor? They were incredible! We also grabbed some drinks at the bar, and the bartender was exceptionally kind. They were out of Christmas beer, but he went above and beyond, heading to the back to find a small pour for us to try. It was such a thoughtful gesture! Overall, there's no shortage of options here, and I'm confident you'll find something to make your taste buds happy!
