I really wanted to like this place & have been here a few times, but I give up. Their donuts & kolaches just aren't good. The donuts are mostly cake donuts, which I'm just not a big fan of...my personal taste, I understand. But it's just not the unappetizing donuts, it's the toppings as well. I have always went right around the time they open & the toppings are always stale. If it was later in the morning I would understand, but it isn't. The kolaches aren't like typical ones, they are made with a different dough, they are hard, lacking flavor & are small. I get that they are trying to do things different & try new things...but it just isn't working for me. read more

Could a donut get any better? I seriously doubt it -- they have the basics covered (double chocolate cake is TDF!) but have added innovative (and addicting!) specialties like maple bacon (oh yes they did) and s'mores (donut filled with marshmallow cream, frosted in chocolate with graham crackers crushed on top!) Watch for new specialties all the time -- I tasted the soon-to-be revealed chocolate donut hole with Andes Mints crumbled on top--yum. They also have sausage rolls but they sell out early! And, if you want to feel a little more virtuous, try out the blueberry donut (or hole). Like walking in a wild blueberry patch. Free WIFI too! read more

Best doughnut shop in east Texas! My one and only complaint is that I'm a coffee snob and would prefer gourmet coffee, maybe espresso drinks and such. Ship in some Peets or Intelligentsia and it'd be the best doughnut shop in the metroplex! They just have the Keurig thing, BUT, it's all about the doughnuts! Their doughnuts are very fresh and are high quality. Nothing tastes "cheap" here, very rich and velvety, just like a doughnut should be! Highly recommend. read more

Just not the same. This is the first time I have been back since it changed owners. They have a larger display case and it looks nice in there but the donuts just aren't as good. They are dry and bland. The service was just ok. The former owners were always very friendly and welcoming. It is just another donut shop now. read more

I went here with my husband who had been here a few times before. The inside is cute and comfy, has a large seating area. As much as I love donuts, I just couldn't get in to this place. Don't get me wrong, the service was great, but there wasn't that big of a variety of donuts. There were pigs in a blanket and these little BBQ buns but I am more in to donuts, and most of those were sold out. I think this is just a hard business to manage, especially when they are open until 12. read more

I love the Apple Fritters. So far I have tried the Apple, Peach, and Tropical fritters. The donut lineups are constantly changing. If you want something in particular they will take request on Facebook. The place gets packed and by 10 or 11 am they start to sell out of the popular donuts. Some of the donuts they do sell are nutter butter, margarita, creme brûlée, banana pudding, bacon maple, Oreo, cherry limeade, and I've even seen brisket balls. I did a custom order for my daughters birthday and when I called and asked Cheryl how much the letter donuts were I was told $1, however when I went in on Wednesday to pay for my Sunday order they charged $2 and $2 for the box it went in. Additionally she wrote my CC info with zip on the back of a piece of paper. When I told her I did not want that floating around the store she said I would have to pay in full then. We go here every weekend. They have the absolute best donuts in Forney (and there's quite a few to chose from!) I ordered a 12 dozens for a birthday last year and they were all delicious. Seriously... the BEST donuts I have ever had. The brisket filled donut holes and pork filled donut holes with BBQ dipping sauce stole the show. I came the first time and waited in line to just see a variety of the little "rock" donut cake holes. I did not want that! I wanted glazed donuts to which they did not have! The coffee is over priced. A $1.66 for coffee! "Are you kidding me here?" McD's coffee is cheaper! The milk was spoiled in the containers.. And there were not enough tables or chairs to sit down and eat my rock cake donut holes. At least Wal-Mart donuts are fresher! And cheaper in price and they don't taste like crumbled dirt! Do your stomach and wallet a HUGE favor and stay away!! While I was waiting in line, I looked at their price sheet, $7.00 for a dozen donuts? Are they made with some gold flakes in them? The two girls at the registers, couldn't stop arguing enough to realize there were customers still waiting to get what they had left in old stale donuts which sadly were these rock like hard donut cake holes. I visited this establishment and was taken back at how dry the cake dough-nut was! You are able to see the back part (Production area?- Big wooden table) was dirty. There is some kind of shelving thing located on top of the table, all in disarray! I wonder what things fall into the dough? It was kinda disappointing. Not a very large selection here! I suggest if anyone would go to this establishment, I recommend going when they first open the doors and hope your dough-nut is not a leftover one. Nom nom nom!!! The donuts here?? So tasty!! I don't know what it was called but I had this apple donut with filling. Usually I hate donuts with filling. But whatever was in that Apple donut changed my mind lol! It had this creamy buttery taste that was super good. The density of the donut worked so well with the filling! The new owners here are so nice and made some great suggestions for donuts to try. Definitely stop by for a treat. I stopped here one morning on my way to work. The place was empty and had pretty much had the case picked over. I chose two jalapeño and cheese kolaches and one eclair with chocolate coating and twix candy on top. The donut base was very delicious, perfect in fact, for my taste. Moist and melt in your mouth good. The only problem there is that there was no filling on the inside! Usually when I get an eclair or long John, I like the Bavarian filling with it. I must say that I didn't care much for the chocolate frosting on the donut either. It didn't pair well with the base and the twix in my opinion. So on to the kolache. I say kolache singular because I only got one of the two that I asked for and I was really hankering for that second one after eating the first! It was very delicious and the flavor was baked into the bread, not just the sausage! It was utterly delicious! I regret to say that I won't be frequenting here for kolaches or donuts. They are closed on Mondays which is the only day I work in the mornings and stop to get breakfast on my way. read more

I don't know what the two gentleman are talking about...I don't think that Wal Mart makes donuts with smoked apple wood bacon on them. Growing up in NY, bakeries that sold donuts were a dime a dozen. Lived in Texas over 20 years now and my family and I moved to forney approx 6 months ago. Luckily one of our first food finds happened to be The Hole Thing!! It brought back a lot of childhood memories to what a great donut is, plus other wonderful items they sell especially the brisket rolls!! Visiting from out of town and stopped here. It was very good. The customer service was great too! Ordered one of there cheese sausage rolls and a chocolate cake donut. Both were great! The sausage roll was more of a "pig in a blanket" but was good regardless. The cake donut wasn't greasy as some can be and had nice flavor. read more

The first time my family and I went into the donut shop, we seen a lady in the back use her bare hands to handle the donuts after she had just finished playing with her hair, I was so disgusted we left. Regardless if the only thing you are doing is handling donuts, she should have been wearing gloves. So, that was my first turn off. To give them another chance, we went back again to find a long piece of hair inside the donut after taking a bite. At that time I was so upset, I called to speak to the manager for a girl named Alicia and young boy who refused to give me his name tell me that they didn't know what to do for me and I can call back tomorrow at 6am to speak with management.
