The Hole Thing is the best donut shop by far with the best selection, variety and taste! Cheryl always greets me and the staff is great!

Just not the same. This is the first time I have been back since it changed owners. They have a larger display case and it looks nice in there but the donuts just aren't as good. They are dry and bland. The service was just ok. The former owners were always very friendly and welcoming. It is just another donut shop now. read more

I have been here twice, once when the original owners (the sisters) had it and then a few months after they sold. Donuts are still on the poorer/stale side...I wanted to give the new owners a chance but first impressions are everything. I basically got a bag of stale donut holes. read more

Pretty neat for a donut place. Lots of variety and interesting people watching if you eat in. The website lists it for delivery but I don't think they actually have delivery here. read more

Amazing variety, amazing flavor Donuts. They have a ton of unique creations along with the standard that you would expect. Their inventory was a little low, but they had enough to get me what I needed. Very friendly and accommodating staff. They have plenty of drinks including coffee milk and juice. They take all the major credit cards. read more

I went here with my husband who had been here a few times before. The inside is cute and comfy, has a large seating area. As much as I love donuts, I just couldn't get in to this place. Don't get me wrong, the service was great, but there wasn't that big of a variety of donuts. There were pigs in a blanket and these little BBQ buns but I am more in to donuts, and most of those were sold out. I think this is just a hard business to manage, especially when they are open until 12. read more

Decent but pricey. They seem to always be under new management. Our kids enjoy them on a special occasion every now and then but to be honest, the donuts aren't super impressive for being "gourmet" or "unique". I'd rather spend half the money and get my donuts from the other shop. read more

My kids love going here. I'm not a huge fan of doughnuts, but these are pretty good. I love their bbq kolache things. Very tasty. Overall, a cool local business. read more

I'm in love with THT! I don't eat donuts, but I will eat their decadent masterpieces!!! My son loves it too!! Thumbs up, Katie! You have an awesome place!!! read more

Unique and delicious! Chocolate bacon chipotle is worth every calorie!!

very friendly employees with positive attitudes. the donuts were great especially the gourmet donuts rly recommend if you haven't tried them they're amazing!! read more

I kept trying them hoping they would be as good as they sounded. The doughnuts are glorified to cover up poor doughnut making skills and the fritters were raw every time I bought one. Sounded good though... read more

I love the Apple Fritters. So far I have tried the Apple, Peach, and Tropical fritters. The donut lineups are constantly changing. If you want something in particular they will take request on Facebook. The place gets packed and by 10 or 11 am they start to sell out of the popular donuts. Some of the donuts they do sell are nutter butter, margarita, creme brûlée, banana pudding, bacon maple, Oreo, cherry limeade, and I've even seen brisket balls. The donuts are unique and a little pricey but well worth it if you want something different and out of the box. read more

Ok, This place is no freakin joke... The sisters who run it are food artist and the donuts are always fresh and unique. If you can dream it they will make it. Follow them on Facebook to keep track of 'whats in the case' You might be tempted to drive a long way for these so beware of the post! They will tempt you. read more

Best donuts around. They are in high demand so preorder on Facebook or by calling, or get there early. You won't be sorry.

Seriously... the BEST donuts I have ever had. The brisket filled donut holes and pork filled donut holes with BBQ dipping sauce stole the show. My husband loved the creme brulee filled donut anf the flavored donut holes. The atmosphere was hip and the employees were happy and informative! So proud to have this in my town! read more

I did a custom order for my daughters birthday and when I called and asked Cheryl how much the letter donuts were I was told $1, however when I went in on Wednesday to pay for my Sunday order they charged $2 and $2 for the box it went in. Additionally she wrote my CC info with zip on the back of a piece of paper. When I told her I did not want that floating around the store she said I would have to pay in full then. I went ahead and paid, however when I picked it up this morning the order was wrong! I will never go back here again!! If there was an option for 0 stars that's what I would have picked read more

Cheryl was amazing and so helpful!! We are new to the area and this is our new Sunday morning outing!! I highly recommend the caramel apple!!! read more

They have the best selection of doughnuts! They have all of the tradition doughnuts and some crazy creative ones too. They all taste and look amazing best doughnut shop in this area. read more

Tried them twice... thinking it would get better but no. Pigs in a blanket was a joke. They did not even look good. Not sure why I bought them. No smiles greetings or anything. just stood there. My Realtor bought a pan of cinnamon rolls as a gift to us. Very nice of her. They were like bread with a dab of cinnamon. Pitiful. may as well close it down. read more

Cheryl is the best donut maker!! She is so helpful and we love seeing her when we go in to get those yummy donuts. We love there crazy good variety of all kinds of donuts and specialty ones that would knock your socks off! read more

We go here every weekend. They have the absolute best donuts in Forney (and there's quite a few to chose from!) I ordered a 12 dozens for a birthday last year and they were all delicious. We usually stick to the classic glazed donut but the cheesecake donut is amazing as is the blueberry one. Love this place! read more

Great doughnuts! Super tasty. Love the speciality ones! I don't eat doughnuts very often but when I do the only place I go in town.

I came the first time and waited in line to just see a variety of the little "rock" donut cake holes. I did not want that! I wanted glazed donuts to which they did not have! The coffee is over priced. A $1.66 for coffee! "Are you kidding me here?" McD's coffee is cheaper! The milk was spoiled in the containers.. And there were not enough tables or chairs to sit down and eat my rock cake donut holes. At least Wal-Mart donuts are fresher! And cheaper in price and they don't taste like crumbled dirt! Do your stomach and wallet a HUGE favor and stay away!! While I was waiting in line, I looked at their price sheet, $7.00 for a dozen donuts? Are they made with some gold flakes in them? The two girls at the registers, couldn't stop arguing enough to realize there were customers still waiting to get what they had left in old stale donuts which sadly were these rock like hard donut cake holes. "Arguing in front of customers, now that's ridiculous!" I will not be a returning customer to this over priced, bland tasting donuts and over priced coffee joint. read more

I never write reviews, but my negative experience at The Hole Thing prompted me to do so. It was SO disappointing. The donuts weren't great, and the sausage rolls were AWFUL. It was super pricey. I will not go back. Forney donut shop is so much better. read more

Love the fluffy donuts here and the variety of flavors they offer! Only downside is that some flavors go fast so if you're not there early you've missed out. read more

I visited this establishment and was taken back at how dry the cake dough-nut was! You are able to see the back part (Production area?- Big wooden table) was dirty. There is some kind of shelving thing located on top of the table, all in disarray! I wonder what things fall into the dough? It was kinda disappointing. Not a very large selection here! I suggest if anyone would go to this establishment, I recommend going when they first open the doors and hope your dough-nut is not a leftover one. I understand cutting corners a little but not to the point where your hurting your business. I indeed.... will not return. read more

Nom nom nom!!! The donuts here?? So tasty!! I don't know what it was called but I had this apple donut with filling. Usually I hate donuts with filling. But whatever was in that Apple donut changed my mind lol! It had this creamy buttery taste that was super good. The density of the donut worked so well with the filling! The new owners here are so nice and made some great suggestions for donuts to try. Definitely stop by for a treat. And make sure you get a few extra for a friend, they'll love you for it I promise :) read more

The food has made my wife and I sick the last two visits, will not be returning here.

I stopped here one morning on my way to work. The place was empty and had pretty much had the case picked over. I chose two jalapeño and cheese kolaches and one eclair with chocolate coating and twix candy on top. The donut base was very delicious, perfect in fact, for my taste. Moist and melt in your mouth good. The only problem there is that there was no filling on the inside! Usually when I get an eclair or long John, I like the Bavarian filling with it. I must say that I didn't care much for the chocolate frosting on the donut either. It didn't pair well with the base and the twix in my opinion. So on to the kolache. I say kolache singular because I only got one of the two that I asked for and I was really hankering for that second one after eating the first! It was very delicious and the flavor was baked into the bread, not just the sausage! It was utterly delicious! I regret to say that I won't be frequenting here for kolaches or donuts. They are closed on Mondays which is the only day I work in the mornings and stop to get breakfast on my way. read more

I don't know what the two gentleman are talking about...I don't think that Wal Mart makes donuts with smoked apple wood bacon on them. This establishment has a great vibe, and the donuts are exceptional. They do occasionally run out of some of the specialty donuts, but that is proof to how good they are. read more

I normally don't eat Donuts at all - but those ones I had at this place is out of this world. For all Donuts lovers and enthusiastic will absolutely their treats. I highly recommend it! read more

Love love love this place! Very friendly, fun variety. Bagels are yummy. What we needed in Forney!

I love this donut shop. I normally just order glazed donuts and they are the best that I have found in Forney.

This is by far the best donut shop in the area. The Banana Cream and Coconut Creams will make you weak in the knees. Everything they have is amazing. It can be a bit pricey but the quality outweighs the quantity. Just get a few and eat them slow. read more

Growing up in NY, bakeries that sold donuts were a dime a dozen. Lived in Texas over 20 years now and my family and I moved to forney approx 6 months ago. Luckily one of our first food finds happened to be The Hole Thing!! It brought back a lot of childhood memories to what a great donut is, plus other wonderful items they sell especially the brisket rolls!! In short, enjoy this gem as much as possible because it doesn't get much better than this!!! read more

Went there a year ago they were out of glaze and chocolate, no one there cared and didn't offer to accommodate with anything else. I forgot to tell my parents who were in town sunday, same thing happened. Now they know not to go there. read more

Visiting from out of town and stopped here. It was very good. The customer service was great too! Ordered one of there cheese sausage rolls and a chocolate cake donut. Both were great! The sausage roll was more of a "pig in a blanket" but was good regardless. The cake donut wasn't greasy as some can be and had nice flavor. read more

Awesome kolaches!! Great service. You have to try the cream cheese filled donut!

The first time my family and I went into the donut shop, we seen a lady in the back use her bare hands to handle the donuts after she had just finished playing with her hair, I was so disgusted we left. Regardless if the only thing you are doing is handling donuts, she should have been wearing gloves. So, that was my first turn off. To give them another chance, we went back again to find a long piece of hair inside the donut after taking a bite. At that time I was so upset, I called to speak to the manager for a girl named Alicia and young boy who refused to give me his name tell me that they didn't know what to do for me and I can call back tomorrow at 6am to speak with management. There was no, "I'm sorry, what can we do to make it right, they were so unhelpful and disrespectful. I will never go back again. read more
