Karaoke with Pasa "Get Down" Dena.
John D.

With technology pretty much an immense part of our lives, you have to hand it to snail mail for lasting so long. These days, nobody gets excited about the thought of their mailbox getting full, but not too long ago, I got some correspondence from this establishment. My first thought was that The Hitchcock Post wasn't surely a newspaper. The beer clip art in the return address clued me in to it being a bar. I opened the envelope, and lo and behold, there were all these little flyers and a couple of index cards promising "ONE FREE DRINK." And there was something about Valentines Day karaoke. Me immediately: I'm game. And as I'm typing this, I'm coming down from a natural high I got from dueting the KJ on Radiohead's "Creep." I came here thinking that I had to complete with a crowd to get a spot to sing, but nobody wanted to step up so I got in a bit off renditions of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Baby Blue" plus "Creep." So what do I have to say about the Post? It's cool having a bar barely five minutes from the house. Not much of a drinker, but I may come here on some Thursdays to channel my inner American Idol. *Plays laugh track*

Buck's West - Best martinis on the west end!

The bartender let me know the ticket wait was 30-60 minutes. She took my phone number I chose to pop back to my beach rental. I came back once it had been 30 minutes and my food was ready! It took the bartender some time to get the food, bag it up, bring it to us, and then take our payment. She was awesome! The restaurant really should have provided another bartender to assist, especially considering how busy they were. There were many big screen tvs playing sports. There were large ceiling fans. Overall I am glad I stopped there! It wasn't too loud and , despite being packed, eating inside or on their porch would have been nice.

February 18, 2022…read more Stopped in for dinner before Mardi Gras umbrella parade on east end. Owners are of Buckshot Saloon, fyi. This place is small with cute decor, small bar, TV's, game room and outdoor area for seating and golf cart parking. We got there at 6:15p on a Friday and they were already on a wait. I think because this location is west of Jamaica Beach (with more families, ie parties of 4+) they will fill up quicker at prime time. Because they were busy, bar service was slow and without any details, how can u serve a "lollipop" martini without 1 garnish?!! Anyways, we were sat at the kitchen area but, didn't have to wait for a table (compromise) We got fresh chips and salsa, and ordered an appetizer of fresh guac; good. We shared an order of beef fajitas for 1, served with, tortillas, rice (had no flavor) beans, pico (tsp-really?!) and dollop of guacamole. The onions and peppers were overcooked, beef was tough and chewy so, that was disappointing. Maybe because they were slammed all at once? It's a nice place to consider especially in summer when you can hang out outside.
