Best place ever. My son loves going. Sifu Brittany is the best. She's great with the kids and she makes everyone feel welcome.

I believe learning how to box is an art and most of the principles of learning how to box coincide with life principles. I have seen my son thrive and progressively change. Learning how to box is difficult!  Finding a good coach is also hard but I believe we have found our coach, coach Nabeel. I see how coach Nabeel engages with my son and gets into his head, only some can coach children and he is one of the best. Coach Nabeel makes him stronger and makes him believe in himself. Coach Nabeel is doing a great job!! My son is learning discipline. He looks around at all the other individuals in the gym that work hard, and he feeds off their energy. This gym is not for the sluggish -so if your ready to work, sign up!!!! Everyone is nice and in their own way they all have something to teach, if you're willing to learn. Thank you, Eastern Queens Boxing Club, from a very happy parent.

The location was much smaller in 2013 but the core values of the gym is what made this place special then and those values still remain today. Walking into a boxing gym can be a daunting experience and alot of gyms are known for hazing new fighters in a way that could be unsafe. The EQBC experience happens to be the furthest thing from that, from the coaches to a fighters this gym is built on an environment that is cultivated around teamwork and personal development. From the most experienced fighter to the least experienced all members have a level of respect for others and the sport of boxing that make this gym truly special. Frankly speaking most gyms in NYC are money grabs with classes being taught by "trainers" who wouldnt know who Ali was if they were having lunch with him. EQBC is different, EQBC is the standard for real boxing gyms , where real fighters are made.

I remember inquiring about his service during the pandemic, we spoke on the telephone and I remember thinking to myself, as he spoke about services and what he can do as far as working with children, I remember saying okay we will see. We didn't join right after talking because the pandemic got worst. Once October came I decided that my son would join and we would see if it would work out. Very skeptical about joining because of the many different challenges my son has. Putting my son in this class was one of the best decisions I've ever made . The children get way more than just karate out of Jeff . Not only does he show them karate moves, he provides discipline, he encourages them to do better in school, read books , treat people with respect , listen, focus, believe in their self and he even shares wisdom etc.... I am forever grateful of the things he's taught my son, his self esteem and confidence has improved, he believes in hisself and focuses more on ways to improve himself. Jeff , I thank you so much for all your services, what you provide for these children, is nothing short of amazing. Best decision I've made, no regrets at all and my son loves your class.

I have been bringing my children here for over 12 years. Both of my sons have accelerated to the level of black belt but not without hard work and determination. Jeff Hunt is not just a karate teacher he is a mentor, father figure and an Elder. Jeff Hunt has created a professional nurturing and loving environment. This school is a family the children have a bond and a sense of community. They have not only learned to respect each other, carry themselves inside and outside the dojo with godly character but to also share and give back the tools they have learned. One of my boys has a learning disability and through the discipline of Jeff Hunt he has learned to listen focus pay attention which has impacted his social emotional and educational learning. Most important each child walks away with a sense of accomplishment knowing that it's not how you start it's how you FINISH! Thank you Jeff for all you're hard work and investment into our children, community and village.

The environment itself was clean, and the class structure was fine. However, I didn't appreciate how pushy the sales approach felt. I was on a 5-day free trial, and immediately after my very first class, I was strongly pressured to sign up. I felt like I was being questioned rather than given space to reflect on my experience. I was quoted $45 per week with a 12-month contract or $60 per week without a contract, and I made it clear that I didn't want to commit before trying another class. It's now been three days, and no one has followed up to ask about my experience or feedback. It gave me the impression that the priority was getting me to sign up on day one rather than building a relationship or understanding my fitness goals. I don't appreciate that type of energy. My intention with the free trial was simply to experience something new and see if it could complement my already consistent fitness routine. While the class itself was decent and the trainer was good, it didn't provide the level of intensity or thrill I was hoping for. I track my workouts with a heart monitor, and I actually burn more calories working out on my own. I was expecting something more explosive. At this point, I'd rather stick with ClassPass, which is more affordable and where I can explore different studios and find ones that truly align with my goals (Marathon and Hyrox training) I hope this review helps the business reflect on changing their sales pitch and become more focused on client experience, especially during trial periods.
