Booked a table of 7 on a Sunday night Food was yum although .. Peppercorn gravy - no peppercorn Garlic sauce - was actually hollandaise sauce Mushroom sauce - gravy with mushroom added Nachos pizza came out without guacamole and sour cream on top Chicken parmi - was good 2 meals came out and then 15 mins later everyone else's was brought to the table The pizza garlic bread was the highlight The team were lovely .. no complaints on the team and their manners. 18th August 24 read more

The Hilton hotel looks great - the new decor is really suave and the outside looks like they've tried to keep the integrity of the old style building. Now, I've been to the Hilton on many different levels of function. Once just to have a blindingly huge night in their MyBar (succeeded BTW), once for a casual lunch with friends in the MyBar and once for a lunchtime with my large work colleagues in the Restaurant. On both occasions I've dined in the MyBar, the staff have been really impatient and seemed so stressed and inconvenienced to be taking an order from a table with more then 2 people. This displeased me, but life went on. The food has been a bit up and down. I tried their famous Waygu burger and I have to say (see pic) - it was quite impressive and the 4 condiments it came with were really delicious with the beer battered chips. However as I am quite a wimp when it comes to chilli, I was lucky enough to have seen that the meal is usually doused with cut up chunky chilli and I was able to avoid it. I was really disappointed with their chicken burger once, but I got over that too (bland). The nightlife there is really catering for the young, binge drinking crowd - and that is what they get. So they have a Sip'n'Save drive through bottle shop attached and it's on the side that faces South Road which makes for easier access if you just want to grab something on your way past. They are also located close to the city but not in the city itself. There is an ok sized car park on site so parking has never been a problem whenever I have gone here. Surprise, surprise!!! they have a heap of poker machines here too! Not my thing but if you want to have a flutter this place is as good as any I guess. They have MyBar - which is basically for your pub style meals. They are building their own website but you can find the menu for MyBar here http://mybarhilton.com.au/pdfs/mybarmenudl.pdf Their meals range from $15 - $20 for a good main course. But if you are going out for dinner and intend on having an entree, main then dessert there are better places that will probably only cost the same or slightly more. They do have special most nights, like on Saturdays they have $11.90 burgers. The last one here is Fedora's Restaurant. It was okay and they do have table service. They did bring out hand wash bowls yet we didn't order anything like shell fish so why do we need a water bowl??? And they brought out some other weird stuff in like little ceramic shot glasses almost and it was so gross. I would have prefered to just be left alone. Dessert looked fantastic, pic attached, but it was pretty tasteless unfortunately. In fact the strawberries had no flavour at all. I didn't love my experience here and would prefer to go elsewhere for the same spend. But they do make the best pub burger (no really, they won an award for it), their 5 star Wagyu Burger. It's almost $20 to buy which I find a little ridiculous for a burger but it is very good. If you are young and have plenty of cash this might be a great hang out for you but when i can cook huge homemade burgers for a family of 5 for about $20 I would rather stay in thanks. read more

So pubs in Adelaide are going through this midlife crisis where they need a face lift, a shiny new menu and a couple of gimmicks to draw the bar flies out and the young hipsters in with their wallets bulging with disposable income. I for one love this since it means our local is no longer a place just for pokies and sad sad old men to give you looks that last a little too long....anyway back to the review. I'd heard the Hilton was worth a visit and was lucky enough to go on "Vego Tuesday's" where they add rabbit friendly food to the menu and special boards, thankyou lawd I needed this after battling the menus at a particular burger bar that added bacon to the only meatfree side . Turns out each night is themed and I was lucky enough to dodge "steak and sangria sunday" though I def want to give the trivia night a go! The menu wasn't super cheap but the price reflected the HUGE serves and fine ingredients, breaking my eggplant parmigiana virginity was a great idea it was bananas! The outdoor area is quiet, clean and enjoyable to sit in and the we were lucky to get a really friendly wait staff who ran us through each day for my curiosity (he must have to repeat the spiel constantly, sorry mate!!). Not my usual love affair with a garden cafe but out of all the pubs with exception to the Stirling hotel I really would highly rate it up there as my next favorite read more

There's a reason The Hilton Hotel has won a ton of awards, including the best burger of 2011. It's great. It's a lovely looking place with the most comfortable seating I have seen in a long time! The bar is good, the outdoor area is beautiful, there's a nice fireplace for the winter months, a pool table and a lot of televisions in the one area, all with something different to watch. The music is good and the atmosphere is just great. Unlike most hotels I have gone to for a good meal, the Hilton Hotel was filled with the younger generation, which I found to be interesting. read more

This is about the 5th time I've eaten/ socialised here now and it's time for a review!! At one stage - I thought this to be a venue that I'd eat and drink at if I was just passing or had arranged to meet friends. But now I think of 'MyBar at The Hilton' as a place to actually visit 'deliberately' as it were! I've always been impressed with the new decor since the upgrade a few years back, the 'Garden Bar' is a pleasant place to sit and socialise, and the HUGE table in the middle encourages chats with patrons around you. Now to the menu; there are some wonderful specials always on offer, but being a bit of a traditionalist - I tend to go for the regular menu items. Boring - but you know what you're gonna get! Their schnitzels for example are out of this world! Covering half a (large) plate, and smothered with the gravy of your choice, the chicken is soft a succulent. The salads and Vegan dishes are not overly prominent on the menu but are nevertheless delicious and well priced. Last night, I tried their own speciality - the Wagyu beef burger; and boy will I be having that again!! The burger itself was mouth-watering and came with crispy bacon, tasty cheese, a fried egg, lashings of salad, delicious chips and garlic aioli, all served on a huge plate. Serve that with a nice coldie and you have the complete package - all for $22!! Bargain. So if you're just passing by, or fancy an evening out for a nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere - give The Hilton Hotel on Sir Don Brad Drive a go. I've called the Hilton my regular for at least the last 7 years and in that time I've seen it change and evolve while still not quite knowing what kind of pub it wants to be. Well, its seems that during the last reincarnation it actually managed to work out what is on trend at the moment. The hipsters will flock!!! The new decor is beautiful and has finally managed to blur the very fine line between indoors and beer garden. And if the pub doesn't do it for you, you can always head to Fedoras restaurant on the other side of the bar to feel like you're in an actual restaurant. Don't be fooled though, they have the same menu as the bar. The menu is a bit above the quality of your regular pub fare (don't be scared off by the sweet potato custard and lamb!) And there is definitely something there for even the fussiest of eaters. Prices are pretty fare and the serves are generous. Always a go to favorite of mine whether its just an after work beverage or dinner out with your mates. It will always be dear to my heart. read more

We tried to book into Fedoras, but due to the Christmas break (although it is now Jan 4) we were directed to MyBar as the restaurant was closed. The food is supposedly the same, I hope that is not true! I had been here many times over the past 24-12 months, but not in the last 6 months, and the food tonight was quite disappointing. The dishes were all dry and the accompaniments were a bit odd. The Chicken Kiev was dry and lacked the promised garlic butter, served with a baked macaroni cheese and a side of gravy. The salmon was dry and so was the pork belly. My favourite dish (Lemon Thyme Chicken Burger is no longer on the menu), shame. read more

This is one of those pubs that I have watched evolve from a grubby suburban pub full of scruffy people watching the horses to a rather trendy inner-city bar. When I first started visiting this place the front bar was pretty old, with a kitchen out the back. However after a full make-over it now has a fine dinning restaurant and the front bar doubles as a night-club on Friday and Saturday nights. It also has a really nice beer garden (which seems to under go multiple transformations). In my most recent visit I've even noticed that they now have Minimum Chips on tap (and they've moved the beer taps to the back of the bar). I must say that I have spent many hours whiling away my time in this pub with friends, and have even given their beer towers the occasional shot. Even though I no longer live in Adelaide, I still seem to make my way back here whenever I am in the vicinity (probably because one of the things that never changes around here is that I have friends in the local area). read more

When I was a kid, I ate bugs. We weren't all bug eaters, it's true. But some of us were. And most of us grew out of it. Including me. I like nostalgia as much as the next person, but I said goodbye to my bug eating habits shortly after I graduated from potty training and moved onto the toilet. The Hilton Hotel didn't hear about this, it seems. You know where I'm going with this. I know you do. It's the typical horror story of finding a bug in your dinner. Luckily, my tale isn't quite as familiar. For one, it was lunch, not dinner. For two, it wasn't a cockroach or anything nasty like that. It was a caterpillar. In my salad. But it's put me off the place, and it would make me feel as if my nasty experiences were worth experiencing if I knew I could save someone from the same misfortune. Don't order the salad if you don't want a caterpillar. If you're into other bugs, order something else. read more

A restaurant bar like most others, however the three times I've been there I've been more than happy with the service and the food. Since its renovation, the place looks really slick and cosy, with your choice of dining either being in their restaurant, at the bar or outside in their beer garden. I have to say, that I've tried all three and they are all good. The last time I went there was because I had heard that their burgers were one of the best in Adelaide. I have to admit that after trying it, I was impressed and it was definitely the most unique and well presented burger I'd ever had in Adelaide. With a selection of what I think was 4 sauces, I really enjoyed the burger, and though it was definitely the most expensive burger I'd ever paid for, I would consider paying for it again. The staff were all very professional and helpful, and I haven't had an experience of bad service yet. Would I go back to the Hilton Hotel for food and drink? I don't find myself purposely making the effort to head there (other than that one time because of the burger), but if I'm ever in the area looking for a nice place to have a pub meal or dinner, it'd definitely be on my list. read more

I've only eaten here once, when I got a wotif deal for a nights accommodation at the Hilton. Why not try out the restaurant, I thought? Here is a reason; It's overpriced and honestly not that good. I've cooked nicer food than what I had here. We both ordered steaks. Asked for med-rare. We both got med-well. As if that wasn't bad enough, the steak was chewy and rather bland. Maybe this is what fine dining food is like, but I was less than impressed. The only plus was our waiter was attentive, and friendly. read more

We have been watching the transformation of this hotel every trip to the airport. Well last night, I flew back at mealtime, so we called in for a meal. Friday night, the place was full, we ate at one of the higher tables near the bar. The atmosphere was casual, lighthearted,and bubbly. It was a good night so the alfresco area was full of happy people. The meals were well presented, cooked well and tasty. My strawberry cocktail just perfect for the evening. I think this would have to be one of my favourite pubs in Adelaide. Since the Hilton had it's second 'make over' in just over a decade, they haven't scrimped on the quality and quantity of food. If anything, I think it's actually improved (unlike such pubs as *ahem* The Holdy). The 'pub grub' is always top notch, and if you're looking for something a little more 'special' than a schnitty or salt and pepper squid, there are some real treats! I have tried various dishes with the sou vide chicken breast, and it's always a winner. The veggies and additions on the side are often unexpected (spiced labneh, walnuts, cranberries) and the red wine jus is the best I have ever had!! Tuesday specials are Mexican themed 'a la taco tuesday', and it's also trivia night. If you're lucky you might even spot Anne 'Willsy' Wills giving it a go ;) My one star off is purely for the desserts we have tried (lemon curt ripple tart, chocolate brownie). Completely over priced for terrible quality of food. Salmon that was over cooked to the point of being burnt should never been served to customers. The steak special - how can you justify serving a terrible, chewy, sinewy pieces of steak for $36. My dad who I've seen eat everything couldn't even finish this steak. When we voiced our concerns to your wait staff all we got was a "I'll pass this on to the kitchen" and only because my dad has a habit of over talking and repeating himself were we offered 1 solitary drink when there were 4 of us - 3 of us with the terrible meals. read more
