I was in Adelaide last Saturday and I was so excited to finally secure a booking at this restaurant .
Unfortunately I was terribly disappointed
The place looks amazing and the food was adequately good for a place that claims to be a 5 star
restaurant
The waiters all Look implacable and that where all stop
The service was just terrible :
1). I was shown to my table and I notice no only fingers marks but actually stains on my wine glass , which I point out to the waiter, which response was "right I'll get ya another one"
2). I decided to order the scallops for entre & the risotto as a main.
The waiter asked to "hold on , let me get a piece of paper , I don't trust my memory". I reply , "it's a table for one and I'm ordering 2 things"
So never the less , let it slide
3). I asked her "which SA wine would you recommend with my meal ". She suggested a red , and I told her " this one it's actually from New Zealand , can you Recomended something from Barrossa valley ?" , she reply "I have no idea". I question her "we are in Adelaide and you produce the best wines in Australia and you telling me you can recommend any ?".
I was annoyed by then so I just order water .
4) I waited for my meal for 30min so I asked her if I could have some bread . Her reply was "that would cost you extra". I was by then bit pissed off and my reply was "I didn't asked you if there will be a cost , I asking you to bring me some bread".
5) my entre arrived and was actually pretty good .
6) my main course arrived and still no bread . So I asked her "where is the bread ?". She told she forgot to put the order .
By then i kind of felt bad incase she has some sort of mental disability or just having a bad night or she's new. But no , she been there working fir a year .
7). I cancelled the bread
I was then listening to her taking the orders of the big table of six next to
me. It was a disaster . The people of the table were really annoyed there orders were all wrong .
8) I was offered dessert menu which was full of stains . I order the cream brûlée's. It was all runny . I told her I need it to be changed . She came back with my order or bread and told me the chef run out of cream brûlée's fo off some cake which I said yes . And I asked her why is she bringing the bread now. She admitted she didn't cancelled it , she just forgot to pick it up before .
I left this restaurant very angry so I spoke to the supervisor.
"How was your meal ?" I reply
"I will tell you after I pay my bill "
And just asked her if this was a five start restaurant. She reply " this is one of adelaide top restaurants ".
I told her all that has happened and how terrible the service was .
I told her that the service was totally unprofessional & unacceptable
More training it's need it to bring the place up to high class dining standard.
It's I was leaving a couple actually agreed with me , even said "I think it was classy that you complain after you paid , otherwise the supervisor would think you after a free meal ".
Which is exactly my point. No writhing this to get a free meal but to let other know that unless the service is improved , avoid this place at all cost . read more
