Snider Plaza is one of those places that I can think back over time long ago, sometime ago and yesterday. Each time period holds pleasant memories sometimes dramatic. Back before 10 speed bikes were a thing,not many people had them. The Sears catalog is where I spotted my first one and wanted one for months. Somehow I found out about the Schwinn shop in Snider Plaza. So,I saved and eventually my grandmother took me there where I purchased a bright green mens 10 speed with drop handlebars wrapped in neon green tape. I can't drive down Hillcrest and into Snider Plaza without looking over and thinking about it. These days my old stand by fried chicken institution,Bubbas Cooks Country is the reason I show up most. However, there are many other great restaurants and antique stores I visit time to time in Snider Plaza.

There is a lot of retail and restaurant turnover, but there are also icons that have been there for decades: Kuby's, Banditos, Half Shells, Amore, Bubba's, and Penne Pomodoro come to mind. We also tried Coastal Cuisine several years ago and we should return since we did like it. You could establish a rotation of restaurants to eat at just on the plaza, not to mention the restaurants that are a few minutes walk along Hillcrest. This trip we discovered some new restaurants that look like they might be worth checking out. Parking can be tight but if you can find a spot, it is fun to walk the plaza and window shop or do real shopping. This time we saw some new places that offer outside seating so if you want a break from shopping, you can stop for a snack or drink of some kind and relax when the weather is nice. When you are done eating, drinking, and shopping, you can walk for a bit through the beautiful SMU campus.

I had already completed order and had now way of contacting, so after I refused to take back an order that a customer had purchased, the little man with a huge ego proceeded to follow me to my vehicle and block my car in with his body. He then waved down a real police officer to issue me a criminal trespassing warning for trying to deliver coffee, even though my record is squeaky clean lol

The neighborhood was nicknamed "The Devil's Back Porch" back in the 1920s. I hope that was not a reference to his butt. 2. This was one of the busiest streetcar stops in all of Dallas in the 1930s, which is the reason the shops are close together. 3. The restaurant Paradiso is L shaped because it was built around century-old trees. 4. Bonnie (of Bonnie and Clyde) worked as a waitress in this area before her crime spree began. Rumor has it she needed money to afford the $8 slices of pie at Emporium Pies. Only three things sucked: 1) Parking is difficult on weekends. 2) Cops are everywhere, so don't jaywalk. 3) The people with clipboards asking you to donate to blue whale abortions or whatever are aggressive.
