Just before it, I stopped in a t another Irish Pub a few doors down, called the Great Canadian, and had a pretty good experience. Great Guinness pour. Cool atmosphere. Games were on...but it was empty. Le Galway, however, was full and crowded, so I felt I chose the wrong spot. I made my way here for another pint and immediately regretted my decision. Surly bald-headed bartender poured my Guinness like a Budweiser and served it to me in 30 seconds. I made a joking comment that it seemed awfully fast, and he smerked and just said, "yeah, I get that a lot,". I closed my tab and left. A proper pour is a proper pour.

While the bottom level was nicely decorated and clean, the upstairs was lacking. The service was very slow!!! I think they only had one guy taking orders at the bar so we had to order our drinks and food there. We waited about 15 mins in line at the bar to order and then 45 mins to actually get our food. Thankfully, the food was good - I had a burger and my friend had a Cesar salad.

Maybe this was one of them, maybe it wasn't (I suspect it wasn't because the previous pub was on the opposite side of the Alley). Anyway, I wanted to at least have one drink upon the Avenue of Avenues, however that is sort of not possible since while there are some restaurants along that route, they are strictly restaurants and don't want you sitting there drinking. So, instead we ducked down the alleyway and came across this place. It was okay, nothing fancy, but at least I was able to have a drink near the Champs d'Elysee.

After all, I was in Paris for a french experience, not an Irish one. The mood was mild once inside, but the rock and american beats were too good to ignore and the tunes got louder and louder as did the fun. They have a downstairs with a pool table, but I found that too isolating. All the fun and potential conversation was upstairs. I would have loved to have returned to the Celtic Corner , but I was in Paris to run the Paris Marathon and had to be somewhat disciplined. I think it's just to keep deadbeats out...which they are very paranoid about. Anyone not holding a drink (unless they're on the dance floor) gets accosted by security, and that's weird to me, but nothing that should stop anyone from having fun. It gets packed. The hip hop and trance is blaring. Everyone I talked to was excited to kick it with a couple of Americans...because I guess we have a reputation for binge drinking. An IRISH guy told me so. It's a gritty Irish pub by day, and a booming, bouncing club at night. Seemingly the only hip place within a 2 kilometer radius, and that's why it draws an awesome crowd.

They played a wide variety of new hits both American and French, and a lot of great older stuff too. Literally everything from House of Pain to Hanson (YES, Mmmbop! I saw French people dancing to Mmmbop!), to Sinatra's "New York, New York" mixed with Jay-Z's "New York", which was fantastic! Two stars lost for: 1. WAY too crowded. I got stepped on/fallen on several times.Granted I have a pretty low tolerance for large groups of drunk people, but it was too much for me. 2. Drinks were way too expensive. I paid seven euro for a vodka cranberry that looked like it was in a kiddie glass, and I couldn't even taste the vodka. AND it was "Ladies Night" and cocktails were supposed to be five. Last time I checked cranberry juice + vodka = cocktail. That being said, you don't need to drink to dance to that music. I would go again when I'm feeling up to the crowd.

It tasted just like tomato juice so when I called him over, I said what goes in your bloody Mary so he says pepper celery. Maid didn't say any horseradish I said what about horseradish that's what you make it with and there's no celery and there's no pepper so he just brought me a bunch of stuff to put in it and just put it on the table that was very rude. Other words to drink sucked the whole night and I was in a mood for a bloody Mary. The second night we would've had. It was seven of us again. The guy who sat us took our orders and then we never saw him again. Try to flag him down the other end of the bar I end up just getting a drink at the bar. there was a girl that swung by and asked if we want anything, but we just got our drinks and she was running around crazy and I don't wanna bother her so we basically left after one drink or two I had to.
