Just before it, I stopped in a t another Irish Pub a few doors down, called the Great Canadian, and had a pretty good experience. Great Guinness pour. Cool atmosphere. Games were on...but it was empty. Le Galway, however, was full and crowded, so I felt I chose the wrong spot. I made my way here for another pint and immediately regretted my decision. Surly bald-headed bartender poured my Guinness like a Budweiser and served it to me in 30 seconds. I made a joking comment that it seemed awfully fast, and he smerked and just said, "yeah, I get that a lot,". I closed my tab and left. A proper pour is a proper pour.

It's a genuine Irish pub insofar as it is owned by the one and only Peter Brady (ok, not the one and only, we've all seen the Brady Bunch), but this Peter is a real, live Irishman. Beer, liquor, even wine is served here. I've been told their food is good although I've rarely been in early enough to eat it. They have stacks of used books for your perusal along the back wall, and many games including the French Trivial Pursuit which has mercilessly stolen my pride on more than one occasion.

Maybe this was one of them, maybe it wasn't (I suspect it wasn't because the previous pub was on the opposite side of the Alley). Anyway, I wanted to at least have one drink upon the Avenue of Avenues, however that is sort of not possible since while there are some restaurants along that route, they are strictly restaurants and don't want you sitting there drinking. So, instead we ducked down the alleyway and came across this place. It was okay, nothing fancy, but at least I was able to have a drink near the Champs d'Elysee.

They have the required Guinness but very few other Irish classics, including only one cider I hadn't heard of before (it was plenty tasty though). You order drinks at the bar but food at the table so if you want both, it's best to sit and flag down a server. The food was excellent - the burger and fries especially. They have several TV's which made this a good place for us to stop and watch a soccer game (the main reason we picked this place). They also have a good amount of room upstairs and outside.
