A local with lots of character. The venue for performances is divided from the bar! The venue is decorated with many fish mounted on the walls. The bartenders were quick and were able keep up with the demand, and prices were very reasonable. My son....Low Groves performed here and it was a great venue ( on Spotify ) . The sound was excellent and the venue was perfect for his Chicago debut, he is based in Charlotte. They have many shows and performances scheduled in the upcoming months! A great venue!

As much as I love attending music performances at The Hideout, it's events like this evening's that really grabs me. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky is being interviewed by Politico's Shia Kapos about the results of the Presidential election. The discussion and Q&A are really helping me process the results. Thank you Hideout!

This would be your local music joint. But it's hidden in an industrial park. On the other hand parking is plentiful and the drinks are not that expensive. The space is on the small side so come early if you want seats. Acoustics are pretty good the bands not bad SamaSama project- it's cabaret week in Chicago- life is good

A cool little concert venue in one of Chicago's newest neighborhoods, Lincoln Yards. This place is divey in all the right ways, and I can think of nowhere better to grab a drink and watch a shocking amount of 60-something white women rocking out to jazz/hip-hop fusion. This was an utterly confusing experience, and I don't know if it's the norm here, but I really, really hope it is. Drinks were all around $5-10, but there is a $10 minimum for card, so either bring cash, get on the same tab, or don't be such a light weight and buy two drinks. Also def use the bathroom that's inside the concert area; when you walk in, it's dark, but there is an automatic light above the raised toilet that turns on as you get close. Needless to say, I felt like royalty, and you could too. There's lounge(ish) area close to the bar where you can chill with your friends if you're not feeling the music. It's not close to any of the CTA lines, so it could be tough to get to if you don't have a car, but if you do have one, there is tons if free parking outside. Overall, I loved this as a concert venue, and I think once the neighborhood develops a little more, this will be a really cool hangout spot for locals

I came here to see a live podcast recording recently, and I think this was a pretty damn cool venue for it. I'd seen photos of the stage in the back room here on other peoples' social media and always thought it looked cool, so when I found out I was headed to The Hideout for this show, I was psyched. We took a pretty unique route to get to this place, because it's in a hidden spot. Hence the name. But when we arrived, it looked even cooler than I had imagined. It looks like a two-story house, with a lot of patio seating and cool lighting inside. I had a horror movie log cabin feel, but at the same time I didn't feel like I was going to die. Does that make sense? No? Awesome. My boyfriend ordered four Bud Lights right as we walked in, because there is a $10 credit card minimum. Holding two Bud Lights in the Hideout felt pretty rad, to be honest. We stood in the main bar area , and then about 15 minutes before the show, the doors to the back room with the stage were opened. There were three rows of folding chairs and a lot of standing room, and a bathroom right inside the back area as well. I appreciated this, especially after drinking a lot of Bud Lights all night. This place was really cool, the staff was quick, and I would probably come back more if it was within walking distance of anywhere I go. I will definitely be back, I just don't know when! Rock on.

Ask the Community - The Hideout

Whats the parking like over there.?

It's super easy to find street parking near here as most nearby businesses are closed by 5pm.

Are babies allowed to come in with parents going to a show?

No, loud music isn't so good for babies.

What is it like on New Years? Is there a cover?

If they don't have an event party or music, it should be free and I wouldn't think it would be crowded.

Can people 18+ get in to the Saturday dance party?

I don't think so- unless there's an 18 and over show

Before the show you can eat in the dining room or on the patio, weather permitting. They have a great burger and wine special some weeknights, and the burger is fantastic. There are also happy hour specials. City Winery is a negociant, and I think most of the grapes it buys are from the West Coast. The wines I tried were by and large in the new world style, although one of the reds had some old world complexity. On the whole, passable but not memorable. The show was fantastic. Sons started at 8 on the dot and played a thrilling 90 minute set. It's a great place to see an act up close and actually see them - no one stands, there isn't room! We had seats in the second row that were labeled wheelchair accessible, but they were not quite that - City Winery packs everyone in quite tightly. Fortunately two seats next to us were empty, giving us the space we needed. I would not, under any circumstances, order dinner inside the music venue, City Winery's encouragement notwithstanding. The tables are far too small. Do yourself a solid and eat in the dining room beforehand. And become a member - between the free valet and waived fees, it pays for itself after 2-3 shows.

The drink list was super fun with pop star nmes, the Taylor Swift was the fav, and not just bc I am a Swiftie. The bathtub drink is cute, get one for the photo and move on. I got reservations here for my birthday as I've been to Aviary, but never had a chance to go to the speakeasy-style concept downstairs. Haley took care of us while we were sat at a prime spot on the small bar. She was truly such a breath of fresh air and didn't intimidate like some highly skilled mixologists can sometimes do. We got to try a few drinks, but I have to call out the Martini with mango (great, balanced martini with a twist!) and the Leche de Tigre (you know this peruana had to try it!). The leche de Tigre (think ceviche in a glass) was savory, tangy, and something I would order again and again. To snack, we got the pepperoni flavored popcorn (they have a vegetarian version) and it blew me away. I would never have guessed it was vegetarian if we hadn't requested that specifically. Having read reviews and menus for All Rise Brewing Co. online, we headed in for beers and dinner, then quickly realized the brewery was no more. No complaints, though--what we found was a laid-back, welcoming bar with plenty of local beer on tap and a menu full of interesting pizzas. We tried some beers, and split a Clam Bake Pizza--that was pretty awesome. Classic cult movies playing on the screens (I hadn't seen Buckaroo Banzai in awhile!) gave the place a little added atmosphere. Our bartender was super cool & helpful. The room got close to full as showtime neared, but was always comfortable. Patrons likely vary depending on what music's playing; this night was shoegaze/goth and the multi-generational crowd looked like fans of those genres. We ended up staying for the night's live show, which was a lineup of four bands (one touring and three local, I think) for a very reasonable price. We could take our drinks from the bar into the venue and/or order more in the lounge space. I wasn't alone, but would've felt safe and comfortable on my own there. The venue's an elevated stage with two sets of steps. There doesn't appear to be any back room; gear and cases were piled in an alcove. The sound and lights were good. Bathrooms were just fine.
