There were a lot of people while we were there, so we didn't get to hang out with a few of the cats, but I'm glad they were being entertained enough by the other people~ All those sweethearts deserve the love. The food options weren't like a "traditional cafe" in the way that everything other than the coffee was prepackaged. There were some absolutely adorable cat shaped cookies that looked great! They had many other options on snacks too. The workers there were nice and cared about the cats a lot. Now for my one downside: trying to adopt. The cat we really liked was already going home with someone else. It was kind of hard to not be at least a little sad that this very affectionate kitty wasn't coming home with us, but that's just how it goes I guess. I wish places like this would have some way to identify which pets were already spoken for. There wasn't really any way upfront to tell other than finding a worker and asking. Maybe they could receive a temporary collar? Again, this doesn't ruin the experience and I would still highly recommend a visit! But if you want to adopt any of the cats, maybe let the employees know when you walk in.

It feels historic in the best way, like it's lived a few lives (old house shoe repair shop now a coffee spot that somehow makes you want to slow down and stay awhile). We didn't try any food this time, but based on the long line of people happily waiting for it, I'm taking that as a strong sign. The coffee, though? Legit. You can tell the beans are fresh, smooth, clean, and more "grown-up, sophisticated coffee flavor" than sugary coffee dessert. We ordered an iced caramel latte and an espresso martini (hold the cream) and both were excellent. The latte was balanced and smooth, and the espresso actually came through (not hidden under caramel). The espresso martini was the surprise star: they add an orange liqueur that gives it a little citrus lift, which makes it taste brighter and more interesting than the standard version. Naturally, we left with a bag of their espresso beans because now we're convinced we can recreate that martini at home. Will it be as good as Frothy Monkey's? Probably not. But we're going to try... you know, for science. If you like places with personality, history, and coffee that tastes like someone actually cares, this one's top of the list.

There is quite a bit of seating inside, it definitely looks smaller from the outside than it is. There's also an adorable outdoor patio with a good amount of tables. Our service was always friendly each time we went in. Mornings seemed pretty busy, there was usually a line. But as the day went on you could pop in for a drink or snack and there would be no wait. I enjoyed my coffees each day and loved the seasonal offerings they had as well! My daughter tried the chorizo biscuits and gravy one morning too and said they were very good! All in all, a cute location, great service, yummy food and drinks!
