Broadway on the Space Coast! My wife and I saw "Little Shop of Horrors" and were blown away! The sets, the talent, the ambiance, the volunteers, etc. Everything was incredible! The Henegar is a local theater right in the historic downtown Melbourne. It's practicing COVID mitigation by having seats separated between groups, but if you are susceptible to COVID I would recommend against going since they are not able to distance between rows. They are requiring masks throughout the performance to also help prevent spread. I ended up seeing the opening show for Elf and it really put me in the holiday mood. The set was good with a few audio issues, but overall a really good performance. The cast and crew did a great job and I'll definitely be visiting again to catch their other shows. They have snacks and beverages available before the show and during intermission. The special drink for this performance is the Clausmopolitan Sangria and they even had super cute sugar cookies out of the shape of an elf shoe! read more

I saw Miracle on 34th Street last Friday evening. The performance was excellent in a very professional atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed the performance 15 minutes for intermission. I really enjoyed the show. The theater was packed, l am thinking about looking into purchasing season tickets. They have a great lineup for the next few months. The tickets are inexpensive and there are so many places to have dinner before or after a show. No parking issues, a very nice enjoyable experience in Downtown Melbourne. read more

I've been here several times, both before and after renovations. I'd absolutely love to express tremendous appreciation for the long-awaited improvements, but can't. Sad to say that although the seats are much more comfortable, nothing has changed in the lower-level seatingvisibility of the stage. The restrooms are still very old and unreliable. Very sad. However, the shows are still pretty impressive, paid and volunteer staff members are just as wonderful as ever, and the 50/50 drawing are well and alive, which are all pluses. read more

It was a bit warm inside but still made it thru the show til the end . The acoustics were good and I was so amazed how fast they change stage dropped without any issues . I am sorry to say this because the outside appearance and the lobby of this important building are really nice. But we literally could not decipher one word from the musical group we saw last night..Poco. It was that bad. The sound system, the most important thing when you are charging the public to see a concert, was the worst I have ever been to in 50 plus years of concert going. The Henegar Center for the Arts is a highly valuable cultural and historical resource for Brevard County. Located in the old Melbourne High School, the community theater performances staged there are very nicely executed. The Henegar Center also offers affordable space for local arts organizations which is important because who has any money these days? We like that it holds many kid-friendly events throughout the year, especially the Kid's Haunted House which was not at all scary. We signed up for the performing arts summer camp led by Pam Mankowski of Stage 1 Stars last year and really enjoyed it and now take classes there. They also have all kinds of little groups offering kid-friendly music and singing classes, which we haven't signed up for, but have heard good things about. I have been impressed with the quality of the sets for such a little theater and my children (ages 5 and 7) have enjoyed attending the kid-friendly events they have there. The only thing I don't love is the seating. Unless you sit in certain areas, there isn't great leg room for taller than average people. We have seen plays in theaters all over Brevard County though, and this one is our favorite. We like that it is low key. read more
