Most of the clothing is on the top level, and since I'm recovering from surgery, I couldn't make it up the steps. Lots of jeans, sweaters, layering pieces, shackets (sweater jacket) but not many in each size. Without a proper dressing room, I was hesitant to buy anything because they only give store credit. D3o3nding on an item's style, I wear a spectrum of sizes so need to try everything on. Other than clothing, they have candles, many with funny names, small selection of shoes, hats, handbags and fashion jewelry Which make great gifts. Also have a few touristy Vancouver sweatshirts.

Eccentric is absolutely the right word for this fantastic little vintage boutique on Main Street,…read morethat has been here for...quite some time. The hand-selected articles of clothing, hats, jewelry and accessories available here are certainly quirky, but also fashionable and functional. Whomever curates the collection here has an eye for the theatrical and flamboyant; many of the items here could easily double as Halloween costume components. There's no shortage of vintage clothing stores in the Portland metro area, but many of them charge truly outrageous prices for scraps and rags that only the most unaffected urchin would be caught dead wearing. Thankfully, that's not the case here: there's something for everyone, from casual to formal, grounded to glamorous, simple to sophisticated. Prices range from reasonable to unbelievably cheap (they even have a $1 rack with clothes that don't suck?! how), making the Urban Eccentric a budget-friendly bargain hunter's dream.

Bad note: I went there one Thursday and the lady working the store was in the back in her personal phone arguing about very personal things. She was clearly upset. Seeing another lady and I walk in didn't phase her at all. She continued to loudly argue with whom ever was on her phone in a very inappropriate manner for work. It was so awkward that another lady and placed our clothes down and walked out. I am all for understanding issues that come up but this was a bit much.

Clothing is high quality and so expect the price tag to reflect that. They also sell accessories like affordable jewelry from local artisans, unique scarves, shoes/boots/sandals and even an assortment of wonderful hand reams and candles that smell so good! The other day I had to buy a pitchuli scented candle because it reminded me of my youth! Like any store, some of the clothing works for me and some doesn't. We all have to know our own bodies and what fits best. What I like about adorn most is that they have a variety of styles because they know women's bodies come in a variety of shapes! I try to stop in several times a year to see what's new, when I need a special outfit or a gift for a friend. This week I bought a pair of Mia slides that are waterproof, perfect for after my swims, and they have a Birkenstock footbed making them super comfortable with support for my feet. Love them! Just $30 and in a very on trend rose gold color with white buckles. Wore them to the pool the next day and a little girl complimented me! Too cute. My only complaint is that the store is so packed with items that when trying on shoes, there was nowhere to put the boxes while trying them on in front of the mirror. A sales clerk ended up vclearing off a stool so I could place my potential shoes there as I tried on different sizes and styles. They have several locations (downtown, SE Clinton) and it's worth visiting them all!
