There are treasures to be found for everyone! I love the slow walk through the store and the discovery of interesting things. It is nice to see all these things find new homes. This Thrift store supports the Senior Center. The store is situated in a former shopping center. While it's not as large as a Goodwill or Salvation Army or Value Village, the store is larger than most single-charity thrift stores. Selection includes a wide range of merchandise such as housewares, crafts, books, furniture, sporting goods, and separate areas for men's, women's, teen's and children's clothing. Clothing is an especially good value when they run "basket sales" for $5. For approximately the first 15 years or so the Top Notch Thrift Store was overseen by woman with retail management experience from the retail store Nordstrom (American luxury department store chain headquartered in Seattle, Washington). Now for the most recent few years, approximately 2022 and on, the store has gone through about one manager a year. Much of the original staff left as well, which is too bad as they were friendly. Pricing has gotten way higher since the last time I was here. The red basket sale is confusing and should be clear/concise/clarified. A lot of not so great stuff to pick through to see the little bit of better stuff. Anything that's actually good is in a little nook where they overprice things. One thing I do like is their craft section. Lots of random things and good fabric remnant prices. read more

Not only do they have great buys everyday.... the staff has become very pleasant. I do and I don't recommend this store. I do because you can't find a better little store and I don't because I don't want to give everybody my secret shopping spot. They get new stuff everyday. You could not ask for a better thrift store than Top Notch. First, they give a senior discount every day of 10% off. Store is well staffed, decently priced, some items are a little high but that's true of every thrift store. Easy to shop, friendly staff. Highly recommend. read more

Prices are remarkably higher since my last visit. Donation/volunteer driven, very nice & friendly folks. Clean retail space, lots of sneezing/coughing/hacking from the back rooms (go home please) Good parking. Less merchandise to choose from and inconsistent & non cohesive pricing. Top Notch Thrift Store is a rare gem in the world of thrift. The store is huge, they have a wide selection, the prices are LOW, everything is clean and organized, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We always stop here on our way to Astoria (at least 4 times per year) and we always find something to buy (usually a lot of somethings!) Their basket sales and discount days are great. Just a tip from one who's been here many times...Please, ignore the reviewer that stated that all they have are 'gross old lady clothes'. "Old" is only a state of mind not the number of years you've been alive. That said, I've found plenty of stylish -- non elastic waist -- jeans and shorts (read: Levi's, Lee, etc) at Top Notch at fantastic prices that put Goodwill to shame. But you'll also find tees, tops, blouses, nightwear, men's clothing, children's clothing, outerwear, work-out apparel, and intimates. Almost all of it with modern brand labels (including designer), all in good repair, tidy/nicely displayed and super CLEAN. Top Notch also carries housewares, home decor, art (some great vintage finds), gently used furniture (no saggy smelly sofas here), books, vinyl records, crafting/sewing supplies and holiday items. Again, all orgainzed, all clean and the selection rotates often enough to make it fun every time we visit. The fact that the monies go to the Senior Center is just icing on the cake. This is classic thrifting, and I mean that in the best sense of the phrase. We love this shop and will gladly give them our patronage as long as they are in business. P.S. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thrift store! they are friendly, clean, organized and have good stuff! I rarely see something that should be thrown away or dirty either! I don't always find something, but when I do it's always a bargain and always something so cool! I've been taking things there forever, but often get resistance from the women at the back door about something I have to drop off. First, you have to read the long list of things that they won't take. Then you have to pass their critique of everything that you have brought. I have taken brand new popular just published novels over there to be told they don't take books. After I explain these are brand new and just published, the will say OK. Today, I took 3 brand new pair of never worn national brand women's jeans and a cute brand new top, but they said "no exceptions" because they are not taking clothes. I would have sent them back to where I bought them but it was too late for an exchange. I bring only top grade goods over there hoping they will make lots of money for the senior programs, but I'm getting sick of being treated like an idiot and they are rude and ungrateful as well. There must be a place that really wants good things to resell to the community, but it certainly isn't this place. On the plus side, I did find a nice pasta cooking pot there! read more

This is by far my most favorite thrift shop I have EVER been to! They have clothes, craft supplies, toys, home decor, furniture, you name it. And everything is in good condition and VERY inexpensive! A steal, really! The proceeds go to the St Helen's Senior Center, and they are always needing donations. When they have a lot of clothes in stock, they have what they call their "basket sale." All clothes you can get into a hand basket: $5! Can't beat that! I've purchased gently used baby clothes, holiday decor (they are very organized seasonally), furniture, and household items. I fill a shopping cart, and always leave spending less then $10. It's insane! My brother got a 7ft pre-lit faux Christmas tree last December for $8. My favorite things that I've bought are a handmade scarf ($1), a pair of antique lamps ($4), and a woven basket ($.50). They randomly have 50% and 75% off sales on certain categories. Last time I was in, I got my son a toy (I'd been eyeballing it new at Toys R Us for $25) in gently used condition, stickered at $1 and toys were 50% off that day! Next time you're up HWY 30, you HAVE to check this place out! They are picky with what they take for donations, and the place is clean, organized, and does not smell. The volunteers that work there are always in good spirits and very helpful. Next time I'm going to donate my used items, it will NOT be to Goodwill or Salvation Army! read more
