When I processed my credit card to book an appointment, I immediately received a text declining the appointment because the owner assumed I was a male just by the way I spelled my name (first initial + last name and repeated in the spelling of my email). They may do good work, but their "knee-jerk" response to REJECT someone's booking for no other reason than as a result of PASSING JUDGEMENT on one's GENDER (then after following-up --and still not getting why this is so wrong), is not a [business] idealism or cause that I want to indirectly fund. Dear Owner Alaena C: I am not suggesting you to pry into your customer's gender as an amended part of the general booking process and regardless of what service applies to them. Tact goes far, well-beyond waxing and facials. Instead, educate yourself on "gender inclusion" (seriously, google it), and if you make a mistake--don't just apologize; fix it --so that you do not harm anyone who may identify differently than how you choose to perceive their gender and decline them, simply based-off the spelling of their name.
