So, when I decide to go to a hair appointment, I am going with certain expectations in mind. I expect quality service on my hair and I expect a courteous atmosphere where I can relax and enjoy the experience of paying someone to do something for ME. I have gone to Northgate several times and have gotten adequate if not spectacular hair colors but the prices are good... so I've been accepting; however, the last time I was there... I was talked to very rudely by the male owner. I just can't seem to get over it. My daughter called me just as I sat in the chair. She was telling me hello and I was in the process of telling her I could not talk (no joke... not on phone for more than 30 seconds) when the owner told me, quite loudly, to "... you need to put that up...". I did put it up. I sat quietly and listen to him loudly talk to various people about a trip he had taken... and I paid for my hair, leaving my stylist a tip and I left. I will not return. My daughter was in labor. I didn't find out till after I got out of the salon because I abruptly cut her off when I was scolded. I was NOT speaking loudly nor was I intending to continue to speak with her... but, really... I have the right to speak quietly on the phone. Perhaps I would be rude but I would be a rude CUSTOMER. I don't feel that I was rude, but I own that speaking on a phone in public can be viewed as such - but so is the way he spoke to me. He could have spoken to me in a decent tone... he could have given me a moment... he could have done a lot of things besides using the tone of voice that he did use. I will spend my money elsewhere.

If he has time he will even clean up my husband's facial hair and eyebrows. He tends to come to his shop around 10am, then proceeds to leave late at night, but you could always get his number to text or call him when needed. He's so nice! There is also a girl that does hair with him too, she did my husband's twice, and she did a splendid job as well. They both speak Spanish and English if you need one or the other. Juan makes you feel at home when you go to his barber shop. I highly recommend! Prices are great by the way.

She also saw that I came in with chrome on my last set and asked if I wanted the same on these - she showed me how it would look first, since chrome costs more to add - and it was actually so gorgeous. She took the time to be detailed oriented and precise. I literally thanked her for seeming to CARE about her workmanship. Prices were reasonable and I kinda like that they close a little earlier (6pm on Saturdays) because I know the staff is there all day. Will def be back!
