went to this Salon because of a shared image posted by 1 of the stylists who was having a special & I decided to try it out. I talked with the stylist a week before the appt, & gave as much info as needed via txt. I specifically asked for a certain brand of dye due to the amount of chemicals often found in most dyes. The stylist suggested 2 other dyes, after first telling me that the one I wanted was fine and that she could get it. So I looked into the other two & and agreed on 1 of those instead. The day of the appt She texts me 2 hrs beforehand and lets me know she couldn't get either of the brands. She had a week to get either brands and I wondered if she even attempted to get either 1, but I told her the brand she had would be fine because I wanted to get this done. So I get it done, and Its not the shade I asked for or even moderately close. In fact, it was more of a hot pink. It was much closer to the shade I didn't want and was worried I'd end up with. I still had dye on or around my skin and my scalp would itch periodically & when I went to scratch, there'd be dye under my nails. I ended up taking two showers that night after getting the dye, and I've been taking showers every day trying to strip the color. I called and talked to the manager the next day, and then the Stylist called me about 20 mins after. I told the manager about the situation and that I wanted a refund for the charge of the dye. The special was 'free haircut, head massage, hot towel, conditioning treatment and style' for $50, & I ended up paying $70, plus my 20% tip(which was being gracious btw) for a total of $84. The haircut was fine, I was fine with paying for it, but I did not want to pay for a coloring(shade) that I didnt ask for, especially since I was trying to strip the color not even 24 hrs after getting it. The only resolution the manager and stylist would offer me was to 'fix' the color. I no longer had the confidence or trust to let this person touch my hair again, as do many people in situations like that. I just wanted a refund. It was also an inconvenience for me to have to travel back to the salon for someone to fix something that could have been done right the first time. What I really don't understand is the fact that they wouldn't partially refund me, but that they'd use more dye, more time out of their work hrs, to try and fix my hair instead of simply refunding the dye charge. Seems like it'd be easier and save time, money and use of more dye. I mean, if you order food from a restaurant, and its brought to you and its wrong, you have them take it back and wait for the right order, or you get impatient and ask for a refund and go elsewhere. Yes, the person who made your order worked to make it, just like the stylist worked to dye my hair, but the order was wrong, and my hair color was wrong. I wanted a refund and to take my business elsewhere. I didn't get my refund, & I'm making this review mostly on the customer service of this place. Where people don't seem to get that if you are provided a service done wrong, given a product that is wrong, or order something that isn't what you actually ordered, that you should be REFUNDED for it. I really don't think Stylists purposefully mess up customers hair, but this is clearly a mistake, no where near the shade I wanted, and I paid $70 (before the tip) for something I am trying to strip out. Yet, I cant get even a partial refund for something I didn't ask for, a shade I specifically said I didn't want via text. So, if you are thinking about going to this salon, be it your first or seventh time, be aware that if something were to go wrong they won't refund you for the bad experience, or for something you didn't want or asked for. If you're okay with having someone re-do your hair multiple times if something didn't go as planned, or couldn't confidently do in the first place, and pay $50+ for those experiences, then no worries. This is the Salon for you, my Friend. read more
