The girls at Tranquility did a wonderful job and got my highlights all the way down to my head (which many stylists frustratingly fail to do). I have gone to Northgate several times and have gotten adequate if not spectacular hair colors but the prices are good... so I've been accepting; however, the last time I was there... I was talked to very rudely by the male owner. I just can't seem to get over it. My daughter called me just as I sat in the chair. She was telling me hello and I was in the process of telling her I could not talk (no joke... not on phone for more than 30 seconds) when the owner told me, quite loudly, to "... you need to put that up...". I did put it up. I sat quietly and listen to him loudly talk to various people about a trip he had taken... and I paid for my hair, leaving my stylist a tip and I left. I will not return. My daughter was in labor. I didn't find out till after I got out of the salon because I abruptly cut her off when I was scolded. I was NOT speaking loudly nor was I intending to continue to speak with her... but, really... I have the right to speak quietly on the phone. Perhaps I would be rude but I would be a rude CUSTOMER. I don't feel that I was rude, but I own that speaking on a phone in public can be viewed as such - but so is the way he spoke to me. He could have spoken to me in a decent tone... he could have given me a moment... he could have done a lot of things besides using the tone of voice that he did use. I will spend my money elsewhere.

Before she proceeded I was asked "what would you like?" I went into detail what I was looking for and what I did not like. Previous establishments I've been to have messed up my eyebrows and end up with skinny eyebrows or none at all! Not my favorite look on me. I had to stop what I was doing and drive back to Red Oak to pick her up. She said after she called someone finally asked if she had an appointment. They she went back to her customer and did nothing. That said, several people referred me to Kelly N. at this salon so I decided to make an appointment with her to see how it would go. Several appointments later, I can say without hesitation she has been fantastic. She is always professional and always careful with my hands and feet (and having seen her with others I see her treat everyone very well). I'm so glad I found out about her and recommend her to anyone who is tired of bouncing from salon to salon just to find someone who has the skills, professionalism and the attitude to keep me coming back!

From the waiting areas all the way to the different suites, everything was classy, organized and well thought through. This was my first time at this location, but not my first experience with the hair dresser Avonti. For she had been my regular hair stylist at another location a few years back. She's extremely knowledgeable, and you can tell that she takes pride in what she does and she does it well. A lot of hairdressers are about the money, So they will literally allow you to do things and choose services that aren't good for your hair in the long run, but not my girl Avonti . Initially, my appointment was for a double coloring process and traditional sew in weave. When I got there , I learned that because my hair was already overly processed and that what I was asking to have done consist of me bleaching my hair and it was an unhealthy decision. I insisted and kept asking her to just do it , and that I knew and understood that my hair was already damaged from the perms, constantly wearing braids , And heat damage. I was so persistent and I even stated that I was Willing to deal with the consequences later of my hair breaking off , because I had a vision and I wanted to see it . She refused, and explained that she cares about her clients and Their hair journeys, and that her name and reputation would be on the line. For she knew that what I was asking for would eventually end badly . So much respect is given to her, because so many people are out to make the next buck that they won't educate you and or decline your purchase. She cut my ends to a healthy and even length, washed it and then gave me a traditional sew in . I was a little skeptical on how the style would look with having to skip certain steps . I wanted blond roots to blend in with my blond extensions. Having to Skip the dying and bleaching process I ended up with my original black roots on top of my blond extensions. It wasn't my vision per say , but I still end up feeling and looking pretty after.
