Get the lava salt cashews! They are delicious and I always get rave reviews from friends whom I've gifted to

How can you not like a business with a name like this. Indeed they are the head nut. Plenty of choices when it comes to nuts. In addition to nuts they also had chocolates, spices and I am sure plenty of other stuff I did not get to see or remember. The store is located at the Famous Reading Market. I purchased some nuts and chocolate and they were excellent!

[968] 8/3/2019 This Head Nut location is located in the Reading Terminal Market. I usually go to the Ardmore location so when I saw this location I HAD to stop in. It's a small store so the basics are available. I like that everything is fresh and by the pound. I didn't end up buying anything. They had a ton of people working there but they were so consumed in their loud conversation not a single person came over to see if I needed help. They were all kind of hanging around. Big turn off. I ended up leaving with nothing which stinks because their chocolate covered pretzels are amazing. I don't know if I will go back to this location.

    Coffee galore @ Head Nut!

Yowzas! This place rocks. I was looking for espresso in RTM yesterday, and I had a vague memory of a spice shop in that region of the market. As soon as I spotted it, I quickly remembered what I've been missing out on over the past year or so. This gem is hidden - but it is probably one of the coolest stands in the whole "jawn"! You can get rice, spice, tea, beans, coffee, chocolate, candies, and all other bulky goodness by the pound, half-pound, or quarter-pound... or heck, even buy the whole glass jar full of the rare discovery that awaits your consumption. I went here looking for espresso, and ended up leaving with some long-grain basmati rice (for $1.79 for half pound!) and a nice helping of dried dates, too! The friendly customer service attendant ground my coffee beans while I waited, and I was able to indulge in the most amazing cup of brewed espresso as soon as I got home yesterday. Talk about Yum!

Nice selection of nuts (of course), herbs, sauces, salts, candy, teas, coffees, etc. This is an awesome store for browsing and you can always find something interesting to take home. We stopped in and bought .5 pounds of a selection of candied nuts including candied pecans which were crunchy, sweet, and buttery all at once. We had to observe a transaction in order to figure out you take the entire container of the product you want to the front counter, and have them weigh and bag the product for you. If you are feeling particular nice during your visit, take the container back to the aisle. This is teeny tiny space so the aisle are very tight and almost impossible to have two people cross each other in the aisles, so be mindful while shopping. They accept cards, however there is a $10 minimum which isn't hard to reach with all of the variety of products they have to offer. When I visit RTM this is always a stop I make.

Very creepy and overpriced. Very narrow aisles make it very difficult to navigate past other shoppers.

Penn Herb Company - Mixed Feelings, Honest Take…read more I was really looking forward to checking out Penn Herb Company, especially thinking it might offer more variety than what I've seen at Reading Terminal. And to be fair, they did have some cool options, a few new brands, and unique finds I hadn't come across before. Definitely a good spot if you're into wellness and herbal products it helped to take some time and read up on a few things. When we first walked in, the vibe seemed friendly and calm. My family and I (just the three of us) were really just browsing, not touching everything, and stayed together. But the energy shifted a bit. Only one older staff member acknowledged us--but she also seemed to be following us. We'd change aisles, and she'd change aisles too. At one point I asked, "Are you following us? If so, can you help me find the chlorophyll?" She did show us, but the experience rubbed me the wrong way. The price wasn't clearly marked as member-only, which I only realized later. Then, after she left, another staff member appeared in the same area--which made me feel profiled. Not a great feeling. At checkout, I gave my number to sign up for the membership, thinking I'd get the discount but I never received it, and no one explained why. Left feeling confused and a bit disappointed. This was just my personal experience, and maybe others have had better luck. But as someone who values both wellness and respectful service, this visit left me feeling a little let down.

You can't go wrong with anything you buy here…read more I spent less than $20 and got a decent amount of stuff: Black Truffle Velvet Mashed Potato Pringles Ritz Crackers with Chocolate Matcha Chocolates Watermelon Konjac jelly pack Japanese Oreos Gift Box (not pictured) So far, I've had the Oreos, Matcha Chocolate and the Pringles. All were pretty solid! The Pringles remind me of something other than mashed potatoes but I can't put my finger on it. The Oreos are all different flavors and are slightly thinner than the Oreos sold here in the US. The flavor I tried was White Peach and Crystal Grape. Interesting combination to mix with chocolate but it was actually tasty. The matcha chocolate doesn't taste like chocolate. The matcha flavor is very strong and it tastes like you're biting into a block of matcha but with the consistency of chocolate. I wasn't helped by anyone besides the cashier so I can't speak too much on the staff but overall I was able to navigate the store without any questions. The store is a little tight especially when you're sharing the aisles with other people. My understanding is that the S.mart directly next door is owned by the same family and is a store specializing in skincare. They share the same name but sell different items. Great selection of international treats and a nice place for gifts, too!
