So referrals from caring and reliable friends are important. Mr. Smelser responded quickly and came quickly because my water heater wasn't working or would stop working when my electricity would crash which was happening at least three times a week. Among other things, I thought I needed a new heater but Mr. Smelzer examined it, analyzed that the heater elements are good, and recommended that I get an electrician to change the relevant breaker in my electric panel box. Mr. Smelser was so kind in his response that I asked him if he could do other plumbing work for me. Almost nothing worked in my house so I asked him to replace my leaking kitchen faucet, repair my leaking bathtub faucet, and install a garbage disposal with a sink top switch. When he came as scheduled, he brought his two sons who are also plumbers in his family-owned business. Even when I wanted a soap dispenser installed as opposed to the sprayer which they recommended, they did consistently as I wished even though the soap dispenser appeared to be more difficult to install. Everything they did for me was excellent and at a reasonable charge. And to boot, Mr. Smelser has a marvelous sense of humor and his sons were so remarkably polite. Jeremiah was on time and had given us many options in renovating our kitchen and master bath without breaking the bank. Quote along with plans was sent to us in a timely manner and we were able to make a decision quickly. They were able to start work rather quickly and crew that came was very well trained. Crew work fast but kept our furniture and personal belongings cleaned from debris and paint. Jeremiah is a very well organized manager. He kept us posted on the work progress and even when we had a delayed because the granite was not ready, the crew was able to continue working on other part of the renovation project. We resurfaced our cabinets, put in new granite top, faucet and sink, new kitchen floor tiles and fresh paint throughout the whole house. We also replaced our master bath vanity, mirror, light fixtures, toilet and re-tiled the whole bath. They took out the tub and tile a brand new standing shower as well. (Wife absolutely love the new standing shower with high pressure shower faucet) We also had wood flooring installed in our living room and dining room. Various Techs came out resetting unit never resolving issue. The error always returned until the warranty period expired. We paid labor up front and received another control board that does not work. We have been sitting in a sweltering home for two days. Not-to-Mention, my husband just returned home 5 days ago from a major surgery removing cancer. They sent a second Tech out after the first did not show for work the following day. This Tech paced back and forth appearing to be investigating the problem. I told the Tech we needed hvac. The Tech disappeared into the maintenance closet in the garage and a few moments later my husband and i heard him pull out of the driveway without giving us a status or an update on the condition of the system. What a coward and totally unprofessional behavior. I work in facilities for over 20 years, and i have worked with several hvac companies. This is the worst of the worst. They never have resolutions. The owner, Brian, contacted me within a day and was able to come over to give me and estimate a couple days later. Although I wasn't able to meet him at the house during the day, he came over and walked around the house and sent me the estimate via email. It was a very fair price, so I scheduled him to come to clean the windows, the storm windows, screens, put in the screens and break free any stuck windows. I spoke to the owner's wife and she wanted to know the nature of my call, name and insurance company. I did not want to disclose my insurance company and felt this was not a factor in getting an estimate. I told them I did not want to be gauged based on my insurance company and did not feel this was something they needed to know right off for an estimate. I was put on hold for the 2nd time and waited again and she came back and said they were not interested in doing business with me! I guess with storms and all the damage the contractors are having a hay day and don't need to do business with you unless you have the right insurance company? Oh well, next! I was told by the woman I spoke with that Fred was her husband and they owned the company.
