Curry Stir Fry
Katherine G.

I've had hand pulled noodles before and it was so flavorful. So coming back years later was definitely cool. I went around 9pm. They close at 10pm. I ordered Curry stir fry noodles with Jackfruit, scallion pancakes , and a mango tea. I really enjoyed the noodles , they were so delicious and flavorful and addicting. I saved some for lynx for the next day at work haha. The scallion pancakes were pretty salty and honestly not my fave. The mango tea was tasty as hell! I like that they have different options for noodles that you can have with your meal. I would definitely go back for the noodles or dumplings! Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Dapan Niu

Solid spot for noodles, I got the dapan niu from a friend's suggestion and even though was recommended the chopped ribbon noodles, stuck with the classic ribbon and I'm glad I did. There's something so satisfying about the long squishy noodles, they went really well with the rich stewy sauce and tender chunks of beef. I thought it was so interesting to find potatoes in addition to the typical peppers and onions, but it really worked. The pork and chive dumplings were just fine, I'd skip next time. But would go back for the noodles, perhaps the ginger scallion next time.

The server was sweet and the food is AMAZING. The flavor is fresh and the noodles are perfectly done. Just a nice laid back place, limited seating, but easy to take to go as well. Portions are big and good balance of veggies and protein.

The food was delicious. I had the curry noodles it had great taste spicy but balanced. And the shrimp wanton soup it warmed my soul.

Curry Stir Fry and broccoli.

Wayyy too salty and also overly greased. The curry noodles were swimming in salt and oil. The broccoli was wonderfully garlicky but again, so overly salted it was a bit hard to consume. Go easy on the salt man!

Dumplings

Heard good things and sentiment was right. Phenomenal pulled noodles and excellent dumplings. Also tried the scallion pancakes which were delicious. I've been bored with standard Chinese in NJ so this was a breath of fresh air. It's kind of a hole in the wall setting so don't expect the Ritz by any means, too cold in the middle of winter to sit outside and there are a few seats and table available inside but we did takeout and it carried well (we did wolf down the scallion pancakes in the car before leaving lol). It's a very solid option.

Loved it!!! The dumplings were delicious and the noodles were fresh. Service was good and helpful.

Everything was good, especially the stew beef noodles called Dapan Niu. The meat was soft and tender, and the sauce was so favorable. It was my favorite. I think my shrimp wontons in the broth could have been more favorable. It was lacking something. The pork and chive dumplings were amazing. It was like eating their scallion pancakes, but in a ball form, they were my kids' favorite. As for the noodles, I got the traditional stir fry with added chicken and the cumin stir fry. Although the flavors were there, they were ok. I think it's better to dine in on the spot. The time I got home, they were all stuck together, and they began to break, and that just changed the whole experience. The place is really small inside, but it gave a very intimate vibe. You were able to sit at countertop tables nestled up near the wall and by a window. The service was great. The guy who took my order was pleasant and explained the selection of noodles to me. I think the prices were decent. I would return to this restaurant. I'm giving two thumbs up. Happy Yelping!

Would I be able to order spicy ribbon noodles with just veggies?

Does this restaurant serve halal meat/broth?

Are the sauces safe for celiac (e.g. soy sauce has wheat in it?

When my GF friend eats here with me they are able to get glass noodles (japchae) or rice noodles for the build your own stirfry. I don't believe these noodles are available for all dishes, however.

They have a picture to promote calling the restaurant directly, how if the number listed doesn't work? ? Ok don not through the Yelp app. NYC restaurants should sue yelp. Your call through the app goes to grub hub and doesn't work

You can go to the restaurant official website thehandpullednoodle.com and order directly from the restaurant.

How many wontons come in an order?

SO many ! like too many to count- I stopped counting at 13 but YMMV- they are DELICIOUS

Is this place BYOB as far as beer goes when dining in?

Per owner, Only if camouflaged in a paper bag.

Is this halal?

The lamb we use is certified Halal.

Do they separate the noodles and soup for delivery?

Yes. :)

Are there confirmed vegan options?

Yes! The dishes with seitan are vegan and the mushroom salad, though I've never ordered it. My favorite is stir fry seitan with chopped ribbon noodle :) long time vegan here!

A bargain on lunch too for a manhattan (Washington Heights to be exact; excuse me my Dominican homies on this side). Burger, fries and a beer for $19 hit the spot after a night out drinking. I like how the bar is in the center surrounded by the tables for regular table service. I'm new to the area so this could be a spot for me to pop into occasionally!! Fernando and Melissa made my first visit worth it!!! Thank you both!!!!! Here again on a Wednesday night and the vibe is so chill and the bartender Ashley was so welcoming; love her soul!!! Thank you for the service Queen!! I will be back again soon especially since living in the area now!! Great staff and hospitality both times here!! I highly recommend!! Meagan is a vibe too!!!! They were good and the drinks were flowing. We did order the sampler and was overwhelmed by the size of the thing. The platter took the entire table. It came w curly fries, wings, nachos, mozz sticks and loaded fries...all delicious and we destroyed the platter. Good vibes and chill. It was my first time here but id definitely come back! Very pleasant we ordered from the variety of pre made food and one order from the kitchen only menu. We tried the roasted chicken with rice and red beans, 2 chicken Empanadas, and 1 order of fried pork chops with green plaintain (chuleta frita con tostones). Took about 10 minutes to come out, and it was very fresh and delicious. The chops were well seasoned and crispy. The tostones were freshly made and crispy. I put a ton of their homemade mojito (garlic) sauce all over everything, and my son proceeded to follow me with his meal. Their chicken was roasted perfectly. Moist and tender with flavors. They have a huge rotisserie pit behind the wall and out the way to save space. Genius. The Rice and beans were standard yet authentic. The Empanadas were a little dry, but I had to show my eldest about ketchu-mayo lol iykyk, then he liked it. He's a bit inexperienced in the cuchifrito area and almost got a brand drink. I had to cut him off and direct him to the fountain drinks because ,uh-uh, we drink from the house in a great cuchifrito spot son! I got him the passion fruit, and I got my usual sesame seed. He looked at me crazy y'all lmao I let him try my sesame drink, and he was somewhat impressed with it. But he loved his passion fruit already. The service was attentive, and I honestly don't know how the ladies balance it all. He was pleasantly surprised at the bill $32. 2 full large meals, 2 drinks, 2 Empanadas, and 1 alcapurria because I had to grab one when I saw the cook dump a fresh batch. I went home thinking damn I should have grabbed 3 more. They were loading fresh cuchifritos and I shouldn't have held back. Later always comes and left overs are always welcomed. Overall, we both loved it. Even taught him a few things in there. For the culture and the price point he loved it even more. I know for sure we will be back.
