What a find! I was extremely skeptical about being able to find a decent place in Apache Junction. I mean come on, half the population is missing a good majority of their smile! I was pleasantly surprised by the menu choices. I ordered the wild salmon with mango chutney, nod to the chef for not over cooking the fish. It came with two sides, I got the smoked sweet potato and roasted Brussels sprouts. The sweet potato was perfect, melted in your mouth perfect. Drizzled with organic maple syrup with a chopped pecan garnish. The Brussels sprouts were soft with a little bite in the center. My only complaint is I had to ask for salt and pepper. My date ordered the roasted green chili pepper jack crispy bacon burger with a house made chipotle sauce. He ordered it medium and that is how the served it. The bleu cheese potato salad left you wanting for something. The sauce was a little thin. I noticed numerous gluten free options. I like that the owners of Handlebar consider select populations when creating their menu. I will definitely return. Sitting outside under the heaters on a Tuesday evening was a perfect dinner setting. The waitress mentioned there are plans for more expansion. Just don't get to big and lose the cozy vibe. Well my partner and I and a friend visited yesterday Thursday Feb 3 at around 3 pm. This was our first experience and visit as per recommendation. We had a lovely visit and the atmosphere was great. We sat in the back patio area. Sun was shining and all was good. The gentleman that first came to our table was leaving for the night and a lovely lady took over. I am not sure if they are short staffed (no one mentioned this) at this time, but the poor lady had the responsibility of way to many tables. My partner sat for a significant length of time (twice) with an empty glass as did our friend (once) Anyway the food was tasty, took a while, and was way overpriced . When we received our bill we all thought we were seeing things. Anyhow that was our experience. We would visit again, but with our experience I could not give 5 stars. We will come back for a beer but not for food and we will try and sit at the bar. Happy trails! read more

We have been to Handlebar several times when coming from the lake. They always have excellent food, friendly service, large pet friendly patio, and live music. Love the fact they have plenty of gluten free options, in fact all sides, sauces, and dressings are gluten free. Plus they have gluten free bread. Just be prepared no matter the time they are busy and it takes time to make good food. So expect a wait no matter if you order carryout or dine in you will have to wait. But they have plenty of beverages and entertainment to make then wait go by. A really gem not to be missed! read more
